    P-Pop kings, SB19, open up about tour setbacks and career challenges in a new documentary film!

    SB19’s highly anticipated film, PAGTATAG! THE DOCUMENTARY marks its nationwide theatrical debut today!

    The much-buzzed documentary provides an inside look into the group’s collective and individual experiences on tour while trying to navigate their ascension to global pop stardom with a crippling fear of anxiety and pressure.

    Aside from chronicling the P-Pop powerhouse’s journey as they “move forward to a new era of music, career, and emancipation,” the concert documentary also unravels never-before-seen moments that put their resilience and commitment to the test.

    “Part of what makes the film even more special is that it doesn’t sugar-coat the learnings and experiences we’ve endured during the entire era of the PAGTATAG! tour and album release,” SB19 shares in a press statement. “The year-long run was filled with multiple setbacks that added mental and emotional distress. But as the title explains it best, the documentary will show how we bounced back from the adversities in life and career, and how we managed to mount a series of shows despite going through a lot of internal and collective struggles. We hope that through this movie, we will inspire our A’TIN to become stronger and more resilient when they face a similar ordeal in a not-so-distant future.”

    SB19’s PABLO, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 1Z Entertainment, emphasized that they’ve always thought about producing a documentary that captures the story behind the stage and the little moments that define the human aspects of mounting a tour of this scale and ambition.

    “We’re grateful to First Light Studios and Jed Regala for helping us turn our vision into a reality,” PABLO reveals. “We’re lucky to have a team that understands the power of collaboration.”

    The exclusive screenings will take place from August 28 to September 1 in cinemas nationwide.

    Just recently, SB19 emerged triumphant in Billboard’s Fan Army Face-off, winning for the second consecutive year against some of the biggest and most iconic international music stars. The chart-topping five-piece act garnered 56.3 percent of the votes during the final round, beating Barbadian megastar Rihanna. The GENTO hitmakers also represented the Philippines in Billboard Korea’s “Billboard K POWER 100” in Seoul yesterday (August 27), receiving the Voices of Asia Award for their groundbreaking contribution to putting Filipino music on the global stage.

    Thai actresses Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong continue to dominate the GL scene as their recent movie, Uranus 2324, premiered in the Philippines last July 7.

    The event drew a huge crowd with fans even bringing banners with special messages for the girls. In a video shared by the organizers, the fans rave about Uranus 2324 and how it showed a different side of Freen and Becky.

    Non-fans are similarly impressed with Lakwatsera Lovers, an online platform for movie enthusiasts, giving a nod to “Freen and Becky’s impeccable chemistry” that made the film more enjoyable.

    Thanks to the successful premiere, fans can enjoy Uranus 2324 for a longer time with a nationwide screening starting this July 17 in select cinemas.

    “Love is deeper than the ocean and bigger than the universe.“ The FreenBecky ship is still very much alive and sailing. As the movie tagline goes, not only has it reached outer space, but it has also gone to the depths of the ocean.

    Uranus 2324 is a romantic sci-fi movie starring the prominent Thai actresses Freen Sarocha and Rebecca Patricia “Becky” Armstrong. Kath (Becky) is a freediver who comes home to Thailand after living in the United States. Lin (Freen) is a world-famous astronaut aboard the Uratis Space Station. The two were lovers in their younger days but were eventually separated due to their personal circumstances. In a freediving competition, Kath encounters a life-threatening situation underwater wherein she discovers that she can cross time and space. She then pursues Lin in different timelines and universes so they can reconnect with each other.

    Presented by CDM Entertainment, Philippine Concerts had the privilege of watching the exclusive early premiere of the movie at the SM North Skydome on July 7, only a day after it premiered in Thailand. FreenBecky fans were lively as usual, queuing hours in advance, dressed in their customized ship shirts and waving their banners. Ticket holders were also given exclusive merchandise including a photobook, bracelet, holographic photocards, poster, and a commemorative ticket.

    Even without us telling you, every FreenBecky fan knows that this movie is a must-watch. Without spoiling the story, we’ll give you a rundown of the highlights of Uranus 2324.

    Watch out for the special effects and the wonderful scenery.

    One central point of the story is Lin’s experience at the Uratis Space Station, and the movie gives justice to this vision. According to an interview with the director, the budget for the movie amounted to 2 million dollars. With that much, the production did its best to capture the wonders and the feel of outer space. Except for that, the movie also featured the breathtaking sceneries of rural Thailand with its lush yet rustic landscapes.

    You’re in for a journey.

    Strap yourselves in for a long ride as the movie runs for a total of 2.5 hours. The couple’s journey encompasses many timelines so you have to keep your eyes peeled for the small details and your heart ready for some heart-breaking moments.

    Of course, fans were very excited to see the romance unfold in the story, they cheered and screamed when the couple expressed their affection in the movie. Since their debut as leads in Gap The Series two years ago, the actresses’ chemistry has continued to blossom and it greatly shows in the movie.

    We promised we won’t spoil so we’ll keep this short: the story has a lot of plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seats. You’ll definitely get to see new sides of Freen and Becky as their characters are thrown into situations you would not expect.

    The highly-anticipated big screen debut of Thai superstars FreenBecky is already proving to be a success!

    Just announced last week, “Uranus 2324 Philippine Premiere” at Skydome was immediately sold out, which prompted the organizers to announce a 2nd screening scheduled for 4:30 PM on July 7.

    This event is the only international premiere held for the movie, marking another historic achievement for the Philippines and the massively successful GL duo.

    In a video message, the two stars share their gratitude for the fans’ support and hope that fans will join them in their Uranus 2324 journey.

    Uranus 2324 is helmed by Freen Sarocha and Rebecca “Becky” Armstrong who rose to fame after appearing in “GAP: The Series” last year. In their first film together, Freen and Becky play the roles of two lovers separated by an unfortunate circumstance.

    With elements of time and space travel woven into the romantic story, the movie promises to be a visual feast with breathtaking visuals of space and a nostalgic throwback to decades past. The cherry on top would be Freen and Becky bringing to life the protagonists’ harrowing journey for love.

    Fan reactions to the trailer have increased the hype for the movie, with several citing excitement for the “new” Freen and the “new” Becky they will see on screen.

Taylor Swift fans headed to Disney+ and recorded a total of 16.2 million hours of the blockbuster 3.5-hour concert film this weekend.

    Disney+ is the only place to watch the show in its entirety for the first time —complete with songs only seen before at live concerts. Taylor Swift fans were able to see the performances of new songs such as “cardigan” as well as four additional acoustic songs: “Maroon,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “You Are in Love,” and “I Can See You.”

    Win Metawin and Janella Salvador’s Under Parallel Skies to have its world premiere at the 17th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong

    The highly anticipated “Under Parallel Skies” will have its grand premiere gala at APM in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong on March 11. This extraordinary event marks a significant milestone as the first Philippine cross-country film to have its world premiere in Hong Kong as one of the special events of the prestigious 17th Asian Film Awards (AFA). Following the gala, the film will have its Hong Kong premiere at the B+ cinema.

    The movie’s lead stars, Thai actor Win Metawin and Filipino actress Janella Salvador, are set to grace the premiere. Film director Sigrid Bernardo and executive producers Richard Juan and Kristhoff Cagape of 28 Squared Studios will also be in attendance at the said event.

    Additionally, the Hong Kong world premiere will be attended by the members of the AFA committee, the film’s partners, and select guests of honor. Juan described being part of this year’s AFA as an acknowledgment of the vision of 28 Squared Studios.

    “Being recognized at the Asian Film Awards with ‘Under Parallel Skies’, our first film, is incredibly affirming. It feels like we’re receiving a nod from the industry that we’re on the correct path with our vision at 28 Squared Studios,” he remarked.

    The executive producer added: “This recognition is not merely an honor; it’s a significant stamp of approval from a prestigious academy, highlighting our commitment to cross-cultural storytelling and the global showcasing of Asian talent.”

    Metawin highlighted that “Under Parallel Skies” is a milestone for his career saying: “It’s my first international movie, and it’s the first time I’ve mainly spoken English throughout the film.” Meanwhile, Salvador remarked that she is honored to be part of the film achieving such a big feat at the AFA.

    “I’m feeling extremely blessed to be part of this film and to be able to work with great talents. And I think we are dreaming big here. It is an honor to be the first cross-country production from the Philippines that’s going to be part of the Asian Film Awards,” Janella stated. Film director Bernardo highlighted that being selected to have a worldwide premiere at an esteemed platform like AFA is “a tremendous recognition of the hard work and dedication that our cast and crew have put into creating our film.”

    Metawin will also receive the Rising Star Award at the Asian Film Awards ceremony, which is happening on March 10 at the Grand Theatre, Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon Cultural District.

    “Under Parallel Skies” follows the story of a Thai bachelor named Parin (Metawin) who travels to Hong Kong for his missing mother. He encounters a Filipino hotelier named Iris (Salvador) who helps him navigate love, heartbreak, and healing in the foreign city amid their differences in culture and identity.

    Shot in Hong Kong from June 2023 to July 2023 with the support of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the film features iconic local locations including Kowloon City and Tai O. The film is scheduled for release exclusively in cinemas in the Philippines in April 2024. The movie is produced by 28 Squared Studios in co-production with Two Infinity Entertainment of Hong Kong.

    Today, Disney+ announced that “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)” will make its streaming debut on March 15, 2024, exclusively on Disney+.

    “Cardigan” and four extra acoustic songs that were not included in either the theatrical film or the video-on-demand rental, which itself added six bonus tracks, are going to be included in this version of the concert film, which is being billed as “the concert film in its entirety for the first time.”

    The Eras Tour movie made more than $260 million at the box office around the world, which is sufficient to make it the most successful concert film franchise in the history of the industry. In December, it was made available for digital rental, and now it is finally being made available on a streaming resource.

    In making the announcement Disney CEO Bob Iger said, “’The Eras Tour’ has been a true phenomenon that has and continues to thrill fans around the world, and we are very excited to bring this electrifying concert to audiences wherever they are, exclusively on Disney+.”

    An intense medical action-drama comes to life on the big screen exclusive at Ayala Malls Cinemas in Tokyo MER: Mobile Emergency Room, a Japanese film based on the award-winning television series of the same title.  

    In the film, a life-saving medical team is deployed when an explosion occurred at the Landmark Tower in Yokohama where thousands of people are trapped.  Under the direct control of the Tokyo governor, the medical team rushes to the scene of the accident or disaster with their large vehicle equipped with an operating room (ER car) and fights for the lives of patients, regardless of their own risks.

    The movie also features an exciting roster of cast that includes Ryohei Suzuki who won Best Actor at the 4th Asian Contents Awards for his role in the series, Jesse Lewis of the popular Jpop band SixTONES, Hayato Sano from “Trillion Game” series and Kento Kaku who won Newcomer of the Year at the 45th Elan d’or Awards (2021). 

    Ryohei Suzuki takes on the lead role as Kota Kitami, surgeon with a talent for triage and a casual disregard for safety protocols.  As the main character is Kota Kitami, a brilliant young ER doctor, he has been handpicked by Mayor Azusa Akatsuka (Yuriko Ishida) to head a new emergency response team dubbed TOKYO Mobile Emergency Room, or MER. Outfitted with leading-edge medical technology and a large mobile operating room allows the team to quickly respond to major accidents, natural disasters, and other emergencies. Their mission is simple: Save every life. Team member Nao Otowa (Kento Kaku) , sent by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on a secret mission, ends up forming a close professional bond with Kota, and together the two men put their lives on the line every day to rescue others.

    Suzuki also received the Screen International Rising Star Asia Award from the 22nd edition of the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) and has been cast as Ryo Saeba in the upcoming live action City Hunter movie.

    Jpop idol Jesse Lewis of SixTONES plays Tomohiro Shiomi, a trainee doctor with a passionate sense of mission.  “I had been watching the drama before I got the offer, I hope you can see my role (Shiomi) growing up in the movie version,” says Jesse.

    The plot twist of this sequel is knowing that Poppy has a sister Viva [Camila Cabello]. She bears an uncanny resemblance to the enigmatic Poppy, with blond, curly hair. Viva introduced herself to Poppy but was highly traumatize with bergens that she can’t leave her place to be safe. Poppy and Branch tried to change her thoughts about them by sharing how she loved Bridget [Zooey Deschanel] the sweet, kind-hearted Bergen who married King Gristle Jr.

    Well, P-pop fans, get ready to be even more psyched! Popular P-pop boy band BGYO has recorded their own official version of the “Better Place” chorus to celebrate the release of the much-awaited Trolls Band Together in the Philippines on November 15.

    “I enjoyed listening to the music in the past Trolls movie so we are very excited to be a part of this one!” says Nate Porcalla, the youngest of the group. His BGYO brothers – Gelo Rivera, Akira Morishita, JL Toreliza and Mikki Claver are just as excited to share their version of the catchy “Better Place” chorus with their fans, the ACEs.

    Beloved for its signature psychedelic joy-bomb of new and classic pop hits, the latest sequel in the Trolls movie franchise puts the spotlight on band music. And when it comes to Pinoy pop music or P-pop – our own version of deliciously catchy pop band music in the same vein as K-pop and J-pop – who knows better than BGYO? Dubbed as the “Aces of P-pop,” BGYO has taken the Philippine music industry (and then some) by storm.

    Before debuting as idols in 2021, Rivera, Morishita, Toreliza, Claver and Porcalla, trained under ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy with the help of Filipino mentors, as well as South Korean coaches from MU Doctor Academy. The band, whose name stands for “Becoming the change, Going further, You and I, Originally Filipino,” released their debut single, “The Light,” in January 2021, and in less than two weeks after its release, it had already surpassed 100,000 streams on Spotify. The song’s music video was also the fastest P-pop music video to reach 1 million views.

    Their second single, “The Baddest,” also made quite a splash. It ranked #1 on two global charts, Billboard’s Next Big Sound and Pandora Predictions Chart. And earlier this year, BGYO was included by the US Recording Academy or the Grammys on its list of exciting Asian artists to check out, for “redefining what it means to be a boy band in the Philippines.”

    “This might be the best movie yet so I hope everybody can watch it. Bring the whole family!”, Nate says.

    Trolls Band Together stars a dazzling cast of musical superstars and comedic powerhouses as new franchise characters, including Troye Sivan, Eric Andre, Daveed Diggs and Kid Cudi, as Branch’s brothers and BroZone bandmates; Amy Schumer and Andrew Rannells, as the pop-star villains who kidnap Branch’s brother Floyd; as well as Zosia Mamet, RuPaul Charles, and four-time Grammy nominee and Latin Grammy winner Camila Cabello.

    The returning cast includes Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kenan Thompson, Aino Jawo, Caroline Hjelt, Anderson .Paak, Ron Funches and Kunal Nayyar.

    Filipino fans of K-Pop supergroup, SHINee are in for a treat. The Philippines will be one of the international markets to screen My SHINee World, SHINee’s 15th Anniversary documentary movie.

    The film features exclusive interviews and never-before-seen clips from SHINee’s past concerts up to their recently concluded “SHINee WORLD VI [Perfect Illumination].”

    The movie will only be available for three days starting November 17 to 19 at select cinemas nationwide.

    My SHINee World

    My SHINee World also marks a huge milestone for SHINee’s career and to commemorate the occasion, there will be a “My SHINee World Pearl Aqua Carpet Night” happening on November 17, 2023, at 7 PM at SM Megamall Cinema 4.

    The Pearl Aqua Carpet Night ticket is priced at PHP950 and comes with one movie pass, exclusive movie poster and photocards, and access to Photobooth and Photowall where fans can take souvenir photos.

    Tickets are available starting November 7, 2023, at 12 noon.

    SHINee is a South Korean boy group known for their timeless hits such as “Ring Ding Dong,” “Replay,” and “View.” The group currently consists of members Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin. The group has recently released their eighth studio album Hard last June and is now certified platinum by South Korea’s Circle Chart.

    The jaw-dropping explosive action-comedy movie is a love letter to Hollywood’s stuntmen and its crew who create magic behind the cameras for an exhilarating experience best seen in cinemas. The Fall Guy stars Gosling as Colt, a stuntman who’s serviced A-list star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) for years.  Working anew alongside his ex-girlfriend Jody Moreno (Blunt) in her directorial sci-fi movie debut where Colt’s stunt expertise is needed. But when the movie’s main star, Tom disappears, Colt’s reel skills gets real when he’s tasked to find the missing actor in order to save Jody’s film.  As Colt tracks Tom’s whereabouts, he takes an all-too familiar route for real this time, from dodging bullets to speeding cars in order help Jody bring her vision to the big screen.

    The movie is a big screen adaptation of the 80s classic action show of the same title that harks back to big Hollywood feels on how movies are made while bringing Gosling and Blunt’s palpable chemistry on screen as ex-lovers, and old sparks start to light in the midst of the set’s explosions.

    Director Leitch knows the genre all too well being a stunt performer in previous movies such as Fight Club, Daredevil, Bourne Ultimatum and Matrix movies, making him the ideal helmer of The Fall Guy.  Gosling, from his appearance at CinemaCon earlier this year when they showed the film’s first footage mentioned that “In most films, the actors get all the credit, but the stunt performers do all the work, and that ends today”.
