7 Yeo Jin Goo Dramas To Watch Before His Manila Fan Meeting

February will start off extra sweet for fans of South Korean actor Yeo Jin Goo! The versatile actor will finally land on the Philippine shore for YEO JIN GOO <MEMORY LINE> FIRST FAN MEETING IN MANILA 2020, happening on February 1 at the New Frontier Theater.

READ: Yeo Jin Goo To Create Lasting Memories With PH Fans In His First Manila Fan Meeting

Before we fall deeper in love with him next month, we celebrate his astonishing career as an actor through a look back on seven of his drama productions that definitely deserve to be part of our watch list — or should we say re-watch list? *winks

    #1 Moon Embracing The Sun

Yeo Jin Goo debuted as an actor in 2005 through the film Sad Movie which was then followed by roles television including the younger counterpart of the lead roles in Iljimae and Tazza. Although he has continuously appeared in various drama productions and impressed South Korea with his seemingly innate talent in acting, it was in 2012 when he rose to prominence following his appearance in Moon Embracing the Sun.

If you want to see Yeo Jin Goo in hanbok, walking handsomely on the palace grounds with Im Si Wan and if you are into sageuk with a bit of fantasy, check out Moon Embracing the Sun! The 2012 MBC drama dwells on the story of a Joseon king and a female shaman with a serving of political themes on the side. It is a well-loved drama which received an average rating of 33 percent from its 20-episode run. It was also named Best Drama in the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards.

Yeo Jin Goo played the young version of Kim Soo Hyun’s character Lee Hwon, the crown prince. He was so good in his portrayal of the character that he received various accolades from the 6th Mnet 20’s Choice Awards4th Pierson Movie Festival, and MBC Drama Awards.

    #2 Missing You

Missing You reunited Yeo Jin Goo with his Moon Embracing the Sun co-star Kim So Hyun where they played the young versions of Park Yoo Chun and Yoon Eun Hye’s characters, respectively.

The 21-episode MBC drama followed the story of Lee Soo Yeon (Kim So Hyun/Yoon Eun Hye’s character) and Han Jung Woo (Yeo Jin Goo/Park Yoo Chun’s character) from their high school where they were separated due to an unfortunate incident to their reunion as adults where they try to reconcile and move on from the past that hunted them.

Aside from his acting skills, the actor showed off his amazing chemistry with fellow child actor Kim So Hyun in this drama production too!

    #3 Orange Marmalade

If you are into vampires and school dramas, Orange Marmalade is for you! Yeo Jin Goo played the character of Jung Jae Min, the most popular boy in school who hated vampires, but ended up falling in love with Baek Ma Ri (played by AOA’s Seolhyun) who hid her vampire identity.

It’s a unique story, set in a fictional world where humans and vampires coexist. Moreover, the drama marked Yeo Jin Goo’s first leading role on television, officially transitioning from being a child actor to a leading man! For his portrayal, he received the Best New Actor Award, Popularity Award for an Actor, and Best Couple Award with Seolhyun at the KBS Drama Awards.

    #4 Circle

Circle is a science-fiction drama that presented two parallel plots — one that took place in 2017 and one that happened in 2037. It presented an interesting plot that combined sci-fi and mystery. With only 12 episodes, Circle is the perfect drama to watch this weekend if you are in for a weekend date with Yeo Jin Goo!

The actor played Kim Woo Jin in the television series which aired on tvN from May 22 to June 27, 2017. He teamed up with Kim Kang Woo, Gong Seung Yeon, and Lee Gi Kwang in the drama.

    #5 The Crowned Clown

There is something about Yeo Jin Goo and sageuk that match perfectly well. And The Crowned Clown is another testament of that perfect match up! A remake of Masquerade, a 2012 South Korean film, the drama brought back viewers to the Joseon era where a king, in a move to save himself from the assassination ploys of his enemies, puts a clown who bears similar appearance as him, on the throne.

Yeo Jin Goo portrayed dual characters in the series — Ha Seon, the clown and Yi Heon, the King. His performance in the drama gave him a Best Actor nomination at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards.

    #6 My Absolute Boyfriend

My Absolute Boyfriend is already a familiar story to a number of people as it was based on a manga by Yuu Watase titled Absolute Boyfriend and was already adapted into dramas in Japan and Taiwan. But another version with THE Yeo Jin Goo as the “absolute boyfriend” will never hurt.

In the drama, Yeo Jin Goo is Zero Nine, a robot which was programmed to give his selfless and undivided love to his Um Da Da (played by Girls’ Day Min Ah), the woman who activated him.

    #7 Hotel Del Luna

Of course, this list will not be complete without a mention of the actor’s latest work, the well-loved drama Hotel Del Luna which paired him with IU.

Yeo Jin Goo portrayed Koo Chan Sung, a handsome and well-educated man (He is an MBA graduate from Harvard, y’all!), who became the new general manager of a unique and mysterious hotel called Hotel Del Luna which has the moody and seemingly cold-hearted Jang Man Wol (IU) as its owner.

Hotel Del Luna is one of the highest-rated Korean drama in cable history!

  • All About WINNER: The Boy Group Who Impresses Everyone With Its Music

All About WINNER: The Boy Group Who Impresses Everyone With Its Music

Known for their potential to create high-quality music recognized by the general public, WINNER has earned the nickname “Trust & Listen” and astounded the Korean music scene with their every release.

Composed of Yoon, Jinu, Hoony, and Mino, the boy group has displayed their stability in the competitive world of K-Pop and their flexibility and diversity in terms of their music — not confining themselves to a four-cornered space, but going beyond corners and experiment beautifully on their art.

The members of WINNER have also actively participated in the production, composition, and songwriting for their albums that tackled various subjects including love, everyday life, and hope.

Before 2014: The Pre-Debut Era of WINNER

Prior to their debut, Yoon, Jinu, Hoony, and Mino participated on Mnet’s WIN: Who Is Next? as Team A, together with former member Nam Tae Hyun. The boys competed against Team B, whose members went on to debut as iKON with Chan Woo.

After three rounds of performances and public voting, Team A went on to win the competition, earning the name “WINNER”. The boys then served as the opening act at BIGBANG’s Japanese dome tour and star in their reality show WINNER TV. They also appeared as guest performers on 2NE1’s All or Nothing tour including the tour’s Manila leg. In addition, the boys joined their fellow YG artists in YG Family Power World Tour.

    2014: Guess Who’s Next — WINNER Makes Highly-Anticipated Debut

After the release of a number of teaser images and videos in anticipation of their debut and the holding of a showcase in the form of a launch party, WINNER made their official debut on August 17 through SBS’ Inkigayo and with the album 2014 S/S and songs “Empty” and “Color Ring”.

They then became the fastest group to win on a music show after securing first place on M! Countdown. Their album also earned the top spot on Gaon chart and Billboard World Album chart.

Their debut year was met with great success as they secure rookie awards and other citations in South Korea and abroad.

WINNER also released a Japanese version of 2014 S/S: Japan Collection and embarked on a Japan tour.

2016: Return With EXIT:E and Final Release As 5

Following their 18-month hiatus, WINNER came back with an extended play EXIT: E with had “Baby Baby” and “Sentimental” as lead singles.

The EP debuted at the top of Gaon chart and at the second spot of Billboard World Album chart. In addition, its lead singles went on to achieve an all-kill status — topping all eight major music streaming platforms. “Baby Baby” also became the most streamed song, among Korean releases, for the first half of the year on QQ Music.

That year, WINNER went on their first ever nationwide concert tour.

    2017: WINNER’s Fate As Four

In November 2016, Nam Tae Hyun left WINNER and YG Entertainment, leading for the boy group to reform into four members.

WINNER made their first release as a four-member boy group with the single album Fate Number For with “Really Really” and “Fool” as lead singles. They once again proved their status as digital monsters with “Really Really” placing number one on Gaon. The song also debuted at the third spot of Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.

2017 also saw the boys come out with the single album Our Twenty For which also includes the singles “Love Me Love Me” and “Island”.

2018: Going Everywhere with a Wolrd Tour

The following year, they released their second studio album Everyday with the single of the same title. It was also in 2018 when the boys’ embarked in their first ever world tour Everywhere including Philippines as one of the tour’s stop.

Before 2018 ended, WINNER released the single album Millions which featured the single of the same name.

2019: Crossing Paths with WINNER with New Album and Tour

WINNER kicked off their 2019 releases with the extended play We, led by “Ah Yeah”. The EP topped Gaon with over 129,000 copies sold. They followed up We with their third EP titled Cross, released ahead of their upcoming Cross Tour which will once again see WINNER back in the Philippines for a concert on January 25, 2020 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

  • 17 Reasons Why We Stan SEVENTEEN

17 Reasons Why We Stan SEVENTEEN

WARNING ALERT: Reading this article may cause you to stan SEVENTEEN, a boy group composed of 13 adorable boys who have been astounding South Korea and the rest of the world with their immeasurable talents and charms. Be warned that stanning these boys may lead to sleepless nights, expenses you never thought you will make, and confusion on who really is your bias. But, the rewards are plentiful because you will have 13 gems in your life who will make you beam with pride and smile with so much joy!

Before we dwell deep into SEVENTEEN, let’s cover the basic information the boy group.

    • Name: SEVENTEEN
    • Members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino
    • Agency: Pledis Entertainment
    • Debut Date: May 26, 2015
    • Fand0m Name and Colors: CARAT – Rose Quartz and Serenity

Ready? Read at your own risk.

    #1 Visual Gods

Although looks should not be a priority in stanning a group, but seeing SEVENTEEN will surely blow you away with a visual feast. If you think Aphrodite is the Goddess of Beauty, mythology got it all wrong — It’s SEVENTEEN. (We are exaggerating here, but you get what we mean *winks). All members could pass as the face of the group with their mesmerizing looks and captivating appeal.

    #2 Self-Producing Idols = SEVENTEEN

When talking about self-producing idols, the boys of SEVENTEEN will always come to mind. Since their debut, they have been known as a boy group who makes their own music and choreography — and delivered stunning performances each time.

From their very first release with 17 Carat to their latest studio album An Ode, the members have been hands-on in creating the best albums for their beloved fans and coming up with fresh concepts and ideas for their stages.

#3 Bias, anyone? You have 13 members to choose from!

Although the name of the group is SEVENTEEN, there are actually only 13 members. As the boys have repeatedly explained, the name “SEVENTEEN” pertains to the fact that they have 13 members and three units plus they are one — 13 + 3 + 1 = 17. P.S. They got tired of explaining this over and over again actually. See Knowing Brothers episode 192. So, please don’t ask them about it again.

Going back, with a whooping 13 members, you have 13 choices for a bias! However, be also prepared because, although you may have made your pick and declared one member as your bias, you have to deal with 12 bias wreckers, as well.

#4 Units, you say? SEVENTEEN got four!

SEVENTEEN is divided into three units namely hip-hopvocal, and performance. The hip-hop team is composed of S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon. The vocal team is made up of Jeonghan, Joshua, Woozi, DK, and Seungkwan, while the performance team includes Jun, Hoshi, The8, and Dino.

Aside from the three units that were introduced since the boys’ debut, another unit was born in 2018! Composed of Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi, BSS or BooSeokSoon released a digital single titled “Just Do It” which they also performed in a number of music shows.

#5 They have S.Coups as their general leader!

The eldest of the bunch, S.Coups, whose real name is Choi Seungcheol, is the general leader of the boy group and the leader of the hip-hop team (who vows to marry every Carat). He is a soft-hearted and caring brother, who also at times makes us question his real age because of his child-like charm.

Currently, he is taking a break from his activities due to health reasons. Still, despite being absent from the recent shows, he never forgets to talk to Carats and say his thanks to them when the boy group won their first daesang at the Asia Artist Award this year when they took home the Album of the Year for An Ode.

#6 We have “angel” Jeonghan to guide us all!

When Yoon Jeonghan debuted, he took everyone’s attention with his angel-like appearance and voice. But Jeonghan shed his seemingly soft aura on stage with a devilish charisma through the years, slaying Carats with his to-die-for visuals and making them swoon with his soothing vocals.

But more than the Jeonghan we love on stage, we also adore the loving hyung and chingu who acts as the mom of the group and Carats too. He does not shy away from showing his affection to his members (right, Dino aegi?) Plus, when it comes to wit and games, he got you covered (with a bit of cheating).

#7 The Gentleman Joshua who makes every day “Sunday morning”!

Born Hong Jisoo, Joshua is the third eldest among the members of SEVENTEEN. He speaks English well, having been born and raised in the United States of America.

Joshua has a kind smile and really sweet voice that goes perfectly with a guitar. Although he may seemed calm and collected, please do not be fooled. He can be your next variety show star with his humor and amusing antics. In addition, he can pass as a member of the hip-hop team with his rap that he delivers with utmost confidence and swag — in Jeonghan’s words on One Fine Day episode 5, “Joshua is shameless, so he will do well.”

#8 What is there not to stan about Jun?

Before debuting as a member of SEVENTEEN, Wen Junhui, or simply Jun, was a child actor in China! In fact, he received the Best New Actor Silver Award from the Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild in 2010 for his portrayal as the young Ip Man in The Legend Is Born: Ip Man.

As a member of SEVENTEEN, Jun takes on active role in the performances of the boy group, delivering beautiful stages through his dance. In addition to his talent in dancing, he is also a vocalist who draws you to with his enchanting voice. (Listen to his single “Can You Sit Next To Me?”). Plus, he will blow you away with his ideas — watch Going SEVENTEEN for reference.

#9 The Strongest “Hurricane” — Hoshi — is a SEVENTEEN member!

Have you heard of the duality of a man proven by Kwon Soonyoung a.k.a Hoshi? Hoshi may seem like the cutest person you will ever see with his lovely smile and natural aegyo, but on stage, he is a dominating force who is ready to burn the stage with his power.

Hoshi is the leader of the performance team and plays an important role in the boy group’s choreography and stages. He is very passionate when it comes to delivering the best performance, giving his 100 percent (or more) in ensuring that a perfect performance transpires. Still, he is the squishiest person that you want to keep in your pocket for safekeeping.

#10 They got Jeon Wonwoo, the “bag of luck”!

Jeon Wonwoo is simply breathtaking. He has eyes that draw you in, an overall charisma (See SEVENTEEN’s Mnet Asian Music Awards performance) that will make you breathless, and his deep voice goes well with his exquisite raps. But like the rest of SEVENTEEN, behind the strong energy he got on stage, off-stage, Wonwoo is a fluffy boy filled with warmth and creativity.

Also, he has a unique humor that will make you burst into feats of laughter. Overall, he is a unique individual that will spice your life as a fan with his unpredictability and an intellectual who loves reading and playing games.

#11 Because the one and only Woozi is in SEVENTEEN!

Lee Jihoon, popularly known by his stage name Woozi, may hate it, but he is an actual cutie pie. He writes, composes, and produces SEVENTEEN’s songs that he has more than 60 songs copyrighted under his name. He smiles like a proud dad to his members and loves drinking mixed coffee in the morning

#12 The multi-talented The8 is part of the team!

Speaking of multi-talented, The8, whose real name is Xu Minghao, is another lad who overflows with so much potential and creativity. He is a superb performer, fashion icon, photographer, and more! He has a kind heart and generous soul, donating all proceeds of his single to the less fortunate.

Although he friend-zoned Carats, we know he appreciates and loves his fans. “Without Carats, it would be the end of SEVENTEEN by now,” he said during Caratland 2018.
And did you know, he also served as mentor in the second season of Idol Producer, sharing his knowledge and experience to the trainees, even staying late to help them and treating them to good food.

#13 SEVENTEEN can’t live without Mingyu — and you should not too!

SEVENTEEN needs Kim Mingyu to survive — a fact that has been known but was made clearer during One Fine Day. Mingyu is a member of the hip-hop team who impresses with his rap and a definite visual god that makes you wow with his features and tall stature.

He is a great chef, earning the approval of his members who will have a hard time surviving the island without Mingyu — really dependable! This guy is also adorably clumsy, adding to his countless charms.

#14 King Arthur has arrived, we mean, DK!

A real sunshine, DK, who was born Lee Seok Min, is a lovable individual whose bright smiles make us melt. He is SEVENTEEN’s main vocal who can seem to reach the ends of the earth with his high notes.

He is also a musical actor who brought to the stage King Arthur through the production Xcalibur. Aside from his amazing vocals, he has also the making of the next rap king (See SEVENTEEN’s Idol Room episode). He may not be the best when it comes to playing games, but we are 100 percent sure that he has the charms to win your heart.

#15 Boo Seungkwan is a proud Jeju Island sexy boy!

Boo Seungkwan was born in Busan, but grew up in Jeju Island — a fact that he is proud of. He is a softie, but with a sassy sense of humor. He is relatable AF and a living meme.

Seungkwan is a variety star who gives people endless laughs and caring soul who radiates positivity and love. He is a versatile singer, who along with DK, hits high notes after high notes.

#16 Vernon is more than a young Leonardo DiCarpio’s look-a-like!

Vernon is handsome with looks that steals the show. He resembles the young Leonardo DiCarpio. But he is more than his good looks, impressing with his rap and his unique vocals.

He also has a one-of-a-kind fashion sense that may seem eccentric to some but has its own personality! He has a bright and cute smile and a caring nature especially to his members.

#17 Dino is the future of K-Pop!

Make way, everyone, the future of K-Pop is here! Lee Chan, also known by his stage name Dino, is an all-rounder and an absolute cutie (Dino, whose baby are you?).

He is the best dancer (See his DINO DANCEOLOGY videos on YouTube)! And although he is the youngest, he also takes active role in coming up with the stages of his group.

8 Super Junior Songs That Will Never Get Old

The 14-year career of SUPER JUNIOR was a witness to the creation of an outstanding and diverse discography, filled with timeless hits and award-winning albums that defined a generation of K-Pop fans.

Since debuting in 2005 with “Twins (Knock Out)”, the boy group has released nine studio albums, one extended play, and countless of singles in South Korea alone — not including the releases of its sub-units and members as solo artists — and has showcased immense growth in terms of music and performance.

READ: 8 Reasons Why We Will Always Be Proud Of Super Junior

Although Super Junior has not ceased to treat its Everlasting Friends with new music, with Time_Slip being the newest addition to the growing list of albums of the boy group, there remain to be Super Junior songs that, no matter how long it has been since we first got to hear them, will always have special places in our hearts and our playlists.

Let’s have a trip down memory lane in this list of eight Super Junior songs that will never get old.

    #1 “U”

“U”, which was released in 2006 as the lead single of the single album of the same name, marked the official start of Super Junior as a permanent group as the boys promoted “Twins (Knock Out” as Super Junior 05, a group initially planned as a project group with rotational lineup changes.

The song, which gave the boy group its first music show win, was also the release that introduced Kyuhyun as a member of Super Junior.

    #2 “Marry U”

While “Don’t Don” leaned on the rock, dance-pop genre, “Marry U” was softer with a mix of contemporary R&B, pop ballad, jazz, and rap, partnered with sweet lyrics of a confession and a proposal. The song was released as part of the tracks of the boy group’s second studio album Don’t Don.

A new version of the song, with Hangeng and Shindong earning solo parts, was released in the repackaged version of Don’t Don. Fans also used the song as part of a fan project during the first Super Show, touching the hearts of the members and making them emotional for the sweet effort of their ELFs.

    #3 “Sorry, Sorry”

Admit or not, whether you are an ELF or not, “Sorry, Sorry” is an iconic song. This year, the song, which was the lead single of Super Junior’s third studio album of the same name, turned ten years old! It remains to be the boy group’s most successful single to date after it secured the top spots on music charts all over Asia and added ten music show wins, daesang, and bonsang to the list of achievements of Super Junior.

“Sorry, Sorry” is addictive, boasting funk and contemporary R&B sounds and eye-catching and easy-to-follow choreography.

In addition, more than the achievements it brought the group, “Sorry, Sorry” is also memorable for Super Junior and ELFs as the final release of the boy group with all its 13 members.

    #4 “Bonamana”

Drawing influences from electronic, funk, and hip-hop, “Bonamana”, penned and produced by SM Entertainment’s resident producer Yoo Young Jin, infused African rhythms and club house beats with lyrics expressing a person’s sincerity in winning the other’s heart.

“Bonamana” served as the title track of Super Junior’s fourth studio album of the same name. It was the boy group’s fastest song to rise to the number one of charts after it came on top of Music Bank‘s chart after only a week.

Another fun fact about this song: It was during “Bonamana” promotion that the infamous “Incheon Battle” between Leeteuk and Heechul took place.

    #5 “No Other”

“No Other” is a follow-up single included in the repackaged version of the Bonamana album. The preparation for the fourth studio album came immediately following the end of Super Show 2 which had the Philippines as its final stop.

SEE ALSO: THE LEGENDS ARE COMING: Super Junior To Return To Manila For “Super Show 8”

“No Other” offered a different feel than “Bonamana”. While the latter boasted the charisma of the members and showcased their dancing skills through a dance break, the former was sweet and cute as evident in the music video that came along with the single.

    #6 “Mr. Simple”

The title track of the award-winning album Mr. Simple, “Mr. Simple” was released in 20111 and went on to top Gaon’s Singles Chart, Mobile Ringtone Chart, and Karaoke Chart. The song also gave Super Junior the most number of music show wins — a total of 11 — earning triple crowns in Inkigayo and M! Countdown and securing first place on Music Bank for five weeks straight.

    #7 “Superman”

Our scale is the best and our skills is the best
Everything has to be the best
Super Junior is only missing the ‘man’
    From the name of ‘superman’

Our passion and concentration are the best
Who would be able to say we’ve finished
Super Junior is only missing the ‘man’
    From the name of ‘superman’

We will always love how confident the lyrics of “Superman” are and how it resonates so much about Super Junior — the boy group’s success and the boys’ passion to work harder and try every day. “Even if the road we walk is barren
We are in the end, Super Junior, the last man standing.”

    #8 “From U”

Super Junior loves ELFs and “From U” is a testament of that. A track from the boy group’s sixth studio album Sexy, Free, & Single, “From U” was performed by the boys during their official comeback performances on music shows, starting with M! Countdown, along with “Sexy, Free, & Single”, the album’s title track.

During the performances, Leeteuk delivered a touching opening line, relaying a special message to their fans. “This song is dedicated to the world’s biggest fan club, the ELF, my girls, my angels.”

Witness SUPER JUNIOR perform their greatest hits live at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on December 15 as the legendary and timeless boy group brings Super Show 8 in Manila!

SUPER SHOW 8 in Manila is presented by SM Entertainment, Label SJ, Dream Maker Entertainment, PULP Live World, and Globe.

  • 5 Reasons Why We Will Always Love IU

5 Reasons Why We Will Always Love IU

With her comforting music, immense talents, and adorable personality, it’s not difficult to love Lee Ji Eun and join thousands of people all over the world in being part of her fandom, UAENA. She has captivated the hearts of people of all ages and earned the respect of many including her colleagues and peers.

In her 11 years in the industry, IU has proven herself to be a top class artist who is not afraid to venture outside her comfort zone and experiment on her craft. She has challenged herself, diving into acting and proving herself capable of being a lauded actress.

As we count down to ten more days before the singer-actress’ sold-out Philippine concert debut at the SMART Araneta Coliseum on December 13, we listed down five reasons why we will always love and adore IU — and why you should too (if you haven’t already).

READ: 5 IU Songs That Should Be Part Of Your Playlist

    #1 She is adorable!

The “Blueming” singer is effortlessly cute, to be honest, that it is no longer surprising she earned the nickname “Nation’s Little Sister” earlier in her career. She is full of aegyo — from wearing cute bunny hats to that little run she did back at the Melon Music Awards in 2017 — and her interactions with her fans and staff make her extra adorable.

#2 She is a great friend!

We do not need much words for this bullet as the years have given us so much evidence on what kind of friend IU is. She is supportive and appreciative, forming great relationships with her co-stars and colleagues, as well. She has also displayed her closeness with her staff, even taking part in their milestones and helping them experience some (Remember that time she helped her manager have a photo with Red Velvet or that time when she performed “Good Day” on her backup dancers’ wedding?)

Aside from her family and friends, IU is also generous to those in need, constantly donating to charity for underprivileged children and to her alma mater which set up a scholarship in her name.

    #3 She challenges herself!

Whether in her music or in acting, IU goes out of her way to venture outside her comfort zone. She has tapped on various genres in her music and taken active roles as a songwriter, composer, and producer for her albums. In addition, she also worked with other acts including BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, Block B’s Zico, Park Myung Soo, Oh Hyuk, Seo Taiji, g.o.d, Sungwoo Jungah, Epik High, and more.

In terms of acting, she has delivered stunning performances in different roles — from a student who aspires to be a singer in Dream High to a cold owner of Hotel Del Luna. She also did not limit herself into singing and acting, but also tried variety shows and hosting.

    #4 She works hard!

Success did not come overnight for IU. In fact, she shared that her debut stage was met with negative comments which she admitted initially discouraged her, but later on, became a beneficial experience for her. Her first extended play Lost and Found also did poorly commercially. But these setbacks did not stop the singer-actress from trying again and went on to release singles and albums, taking slow but fulfilling steps towards the top.

Her perseverance and her strength have bore fruits that she is now regarded as one of the influential artists of her generation.

    #5 She is an inspiration!

IU was only 15 years old when she debuted as a singer. Despite her young age, she has proven herself as a capable singer and performer who impressed critics with her vocal ability. Although her first step in the industry was rocky, she stood firm and continued to work hard for her passion and dreams.

It was definitely not an easy journey especially in the competitive world of K-Pop and the society. Despite the many struggles and the heartbreaking moments, the singer-actress went on, moved forward, and send encouragement to others. She was not afraid to show her weakness and to encourage her fellow artists to not be afraid to show their emotions.

In her speech at the 32nd Golden Disc Awards where she brought home a daesang, IU acknowledged that she is still very sad as she had just said her farewell to a precious person who was her friend and a fellow musician.

“It’s a shame and even more sad that we are all busy with things to do tomorrow. We have to worry about what’s happening next month and make plans for next year, so we cannot let ourselves feel sadness as much as we need to. I hope that you will let natural things show and accept them naturally — like feeling happy when happy, crying when sad, feeling tired when hungry, and slowing down when sick. As artists, we are people who comfort other people, so while it’s good to have a professional mindset, I truly hope that no one becomes sick and pained,” she said.

  • 8 Reasons Why We Will Always Be Proud Of Super Junior

8 Reasons Why We Will Always Be Proud Of Super Junior

When Super Junior debuted in 2005 with the single “Twins (Knock Out)”, no one knew what the future holds for the boy group with 12 members — the biggest number ever for an idol group during that time. And when promotions for “Miracle”, the second promotional single from the boy group’s first studio album Twins, ended, new members were supposed to be introduced in accordance to the initial plan for a rotational lineup.

But SM Entertainment abandoned the plan. Instead of a massive lineup changes, a new member, Kyuhyun, was introduced and Super Junior 05 simply became SUPER JUNIOR. And true to Lee Soo Man’s intention, the boy group, composed of Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Hangeng, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Kibum, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun, became a “gateway to stardom of Asia”.

Super Junior became a prominent figure of Hallyu or the Korean Wave, gaining a strong following all over the world and receiving recognition from various award-giving bodies. The boy group is one of the best selling K-Pop artists and one of the longest-running boy groups in South Korea’s music scene.

And although the 14-year career of Super Junior was not spared from controversies, including the loss of three members Hangeng, Kibum, and Kangin and the indefinite hiatus of Sungmin in the group’s activities, no one could ever deny the contributions and impact of the boy group to K-Pop, South Korea, Asia, and even the world.

They are legendary and timeless. And in this special feature, we celebrate Super Junior with the list of eight (among many) reasons why we, as Everlasting Friends of Super Junior, will always be proud of them.

    #1 FOURTEEN YEARS

In a highly competitive market such as South Korea’s entertainment industry, many idol groups debut but only few remain active for more than a decade. Super Junior is one of the rare gems in the K-Pop music scene with 14 years under their belt.

The boy group has maintained their prominent presence in the entertainment industry and has kept their impact and legacy intact through the years. Although it seems that the boys have achieved everything in the past decade, they continue to leave their mark and prove their timeless influence through the various recognition and new milestones they receive in recent years including the Legend Award at the 2017 Asia Artist Awards and Bonsang from the Golden Disc Awards and Seoul Music Awards in 2018, among others.

Super Junior also earned two music show wins for their Time_Slip comeback led by “Super Clap”, marking their first win since 2014 and following the completion of all the members’ military services.

They are also one of the most respected sunbae in the industry with fellow artists expressing their admiration to the group and the members. Some also identified them as their inspiration in pursuing their dream to be an idol. And that’s what we really call legendary.

    #2 “SORRY, SORRY”

Speaking of legendary, we can never miss “Sorry, Sorry”, the song which got most Philippine ELFs into Super Junior, when we talk about Super Junior. The song was initially released as a digital single on March 9, 2009 (Happy 10th Anniversary, Sorry, Sorry!) but was later included as the lead single for the group’s third studio album of the same title.

Dubbed as Super Junior’s most successful single to date, “Sorry, Sorry” took the top spot on music charts, not only in South Korea, but other Asian countries such as Taiwan and Thailand. It also gave the boy group ten music show wins, the second most number of wins Super Junior has achieved for a song following “Mr. Simple”.

“Sorry, Sorry” is also one of the most covered songs in K-Pop with Girls’ Generation, EXO, BTS, SEVENTEEN, NCT, SF9, Wanna One, among others performing the song in various instances. The Philippines’ very own Cebu Dancing Inmates also performed the song.

Sorry, Sorry took home Daesang and Bonsang at the Golden Disc Awards, Bonsang at the Seoul Music Awards, and Album of the Year at the Gaon Chart Awards. It is also the best-selling album of 2009 with more than 250,000 sales.

    #3 SUPER SHOW

Super Show, the international tours of Super Junior, commenced in 2008 through The 1st Asia Tour – Super Show which kicked off in Seoul on February 22, 2008 and ended with a total of ten shows in South Korea, China, and Thailand. Since then, the boy group has held a total of eight Super Shows which has also expanded beyond Asia to include Europe and South America.

With Super Show, Super Junior became the first South Korean artist to hold a total of 100 concerts worldwide, a feat the boys achieved during Super Show 6 in Seoul on September 21, 2014. Prior to this achievement, the boy group also made history with the largest K-Pop tour in South America with Super Show 5. This year, the boys also created another first for K-Pop as the first K-Pop artist to hold a concert in Saudi Arabia via Super Show 7.

In the Philippines, ELFs got their first taste of Super Show in 2010 when PULP Live World brought the boy group in the country for the concert on April 10, 2010 at the Araneta Coliseum. Philippine served as the final stop of Super Show 2. They are also the first K-Pop boy group to hold a solo concert in the country!

With Super Show 8 coming to the Philippine shore on December 15 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Super Junior will mark their fifth solo concert in the archipelago following Super Show 2Super Show 3Super Show 5, and Super Show 7.

READ: THE LEGENDS ARE COMING: Super Junior To Return To Manila For “Super Show 8”

Tickets to the concert will go on sale starting November 24 at 12 noon via SM Tickets.

    #4 MULTI-AWARDED

With a discography spanning nine studio albums, one extended play, and one compilation album in South Korea alone, Super Junior also boasts a superb list of awards and recognition under their name. Since their debut in 2005, the boy group has won more than 160 awards and received more than 220 nominations from award-giving bodies in South Korea and overseas.

Super Junior is the most-awarded artist at the Golden Disc Awards with 19 wins, including three Daesang and eight Bonsang.

Aside from their milestones as a group, the members have also built legacies of their own and have been recognized for their various activities and contributions to the entertainment industry.

    #5 MAKERS OF HISTORY

And whrn we said Super Junior contributed a lot to K-Pop and the Korean entertainment industry, we are not kidding. The boy group has chnaged the game for K-Pop in a lot of ways including being the first idol group to actively promote in China and holding a special lectire at Oxford University.

They also created a lot of firsts in K-Pop — and in Asia too! The boy group is the first overseas artist to win Asia’s Artist of the Year at the Tencent Stars Magnificent Ceremony in China. The boys, with the help of their ELFs, bested out One Direction, Little Mix, 5 Seconds of Summer, 2NE1, and Girls’ Generation to be the Choice International Artist at the Teen Choice Award, making them the first Korean and Asian artist to do so.

In addition, Super Junior is the first foreign act to receive the Artist of the Year award at the KKBOX Music Awards. “Lo Siento”, the title track of their repackaged album Replay, became the first K-Pop song to enter Billboard’s Latin Songs Chart. Subsequently, Super Junior became the first K-Pop group to appear on the chart!

Although we cannot list everything down, Super Junior has undeniably helped paved the way for K-Pop and its artists in so many ways that it is no longer surprising that the boys have earned the respect of many.

    #6 MULTI-TALENTED

Other than their main jobs as singers, the members have constantly challenged themselves and evolve, showing us how capable they are as artists.

Super Junior members are variety kings — and no one can tell us otherwise. With shows such as SuperTV and SJ Returns, the boys have made us roar into laughter, sometimes even questioning why we stan these dorks. And if you are like us, Titas of K-Pop, you probably know the gems that are Exploration of the Human BodyMystery 6, and Full House.

Individually, the boys are also carving names for themselves as trusted MCs with leader Leeteuk, Heechul, Shindong, and Kyuhyun being hosts or cast members of a lot of entertainment programs today.

They can also act and we have witnessed it on Attack on thr Pin-Up Boys. The members also impressed with their acting chops in various drama productions including Heechul’s Bad Family and Flower Granpa Investigation Unit, Yesung’s Awl and Voice, Sungmin’s The President, Siwon’s She Was Pretty and My Fellow Citizens, Donghae’s It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl and Quiz of God Season 4 and Kyuhyun’s Bongsun, The Woman Dies If She Loves.

Not to mention, the members have also led musical productions! Yesung, Sungmin, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun earning praises for their musical performances.

In addition, Shindong and Eunhyuk have also taken roles outside the spotlight by going behind the scenes and behind the camera as directors. And Super Show 8 will be a witness to that!

#7 EVERLASTING FRIENDS OF SUPER JUNIOR

But, really, the 14-year run of Super Junior will never be possible without the support of their Everlasting Friends!

ELFs are one of the most passionate fandoms in the world as evident by the Choice Fandom award they received at the Teen Choice Award. They are Super Junior’s constants who support the members’ activities, protect them against haters, and love them through the ups and downs. It is a lovely relationship that makes our hearts full.

We can’t wait to witness another display of this strong bond at Super Show 8 in Manila and be part of the ocean of pearl sappbire blue.

    #8 BROTHERHOOD

It always warms our hearts to see the strong relationship of this bunch where they pour out thier support for each other. No matter how they joke about being a window group, we know they are family.

From a project group to one of South Korea’s most successful boy groups, Super Junior has indeed come a long way. The journey was never easy with tears shed a long the way, heartbreaks that tested their strengths, and challenges that seemed so hard to conquer — but Super Junior did that.

  • 5 IU Songs That Should Be Part Of Your Playlist

5 IU Songs That Should Be Part Of Your Playlist

In case you did not know (which we highly doubt), South Korean singer-songwriter and actress Lee Ji Eun, popularly known by her stage name IU, is finally making her Philippine concert stage debut at the SMART Araneta Coliseum on December 13 through the Manila leg of her 2019 IU TOUR CONCERT <LOVE, POEM>. Tickets to the concert will go on sale starting November 17 via TicketNet outlets and online at www.ticketnet.com.ph.

READ: IU To Finally Debut On Philippine Concert Stage Via “Love, Poem” In Manila In December

With a month to go before the show, we channel our excitement to see the multi-talented and ever-pretty singer-actress in the Philippine shore into a list of five songs of IU that you should definitely add to your playlist and listen on repeat as we count down to D-Day.

Ready, PH Uaenas? And so, we start!

    “Lost Child”

Avid fans of IU will know “Lost Child” as the singer’s debut single which she performed for the first time live at M! Countdown in September 2008. The song was later on released as the single of her debut extended play Lost and Found. Although the song and the EP did not do well commercially at that the time of its release, the chilling and haunting ballad remains to be a gem in IU’s discography as it showcased the amazing potential of the singer to pull such piece, considering she was only 15 years old when it came out.

    “Nagging”

While “Lost Child” is an emotional ballad, “Nagging” is an adorable song that captured the youthfulness of IU. Released in 2010, the singer-actress teamed up with 2AM’s Seulong for the single that went on to top Gaon Digital Chart. “Nagging”, written by Kim Eana and composed by Lee Min Soo, served as the theme song of the second season of the MBC variety show We Got Married.

    “Someday”

Dream High fans, put your hands up! This song will bring back the sweet memories of the lovely tandem of Jason (played by 2PM’s Wooyoung) and Pil Sook (played by IU). The single was part of the original soundtrack of the teen drama which also served as IU’s first acting role.

Known as one of IU’s best-selling singles for a soundtrack, “Someday” took on the number one spot on Gaon Digital Chart and sold more than two million digital copies by the end of 2011.

    “Palette”

An IU playlist will never be complete without “Palette”! The song was released in 2017 as part of the singer-songwriter’s fourth studio album of the same title and saw her collaborate with BIGBANG’s G-Dragon.

“Palette” was written by IU and G-Dragon, with IU producing and composing the track, as well. Tamar Herman of Billboard described the song as an “autobiographical reflection of the songstress growing into herself as a 20-something with a nine-year career under her belt.” Aside from the commercial success of the song and the album itself, it also received positive feedback with IU receiving praise for her songwriting.

    “Bbibbi”

Released in commemoration of her tenth anniversary, “Bbibbi” takes aim at haters and addresses IU’s feelings, while showcasing the singer’s growing confidence and maturity. And haters are definitely gonna hate, as the song went on to top music charts in South Korea and worldwide. It also received a platinum certification after surpassing 100 million streams and 2.5 million downloads.

Be ready to add more songs to your IU playlist as the singer-songwriter will release her ninth extended play Love Poem on November 18. And on December 13, sing along with IU as she stages her first solo concert in the Philippines at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

Tickets will go on sale starting November 17 via TicketNet online and outlets.

  • 6 Day6 Songs That Overwhelm Us With Feels

6 Day6 Songs That Overwhelm Us With Feels

Since debuting in 2015 with the mini album The Day, fronted by “Congratulations”, South Korean band Day6 has continuously impressed, treating fans and casual listeners alike with a wide-ranging discography that explores various themes — from growing up, relationships, life, and so much more.

Each year was a witness to how much the band, composed of Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, has evolved and beautifully showcased their colors as a unique group and the first and only band to debut under JYP Entertainment. Recently back with their third studio album titled The Book of Us: Entropy, the boys continue to expand their music and venture into other themes. According to Young K during the press conference held in commemoration of the album’s release, The Book of Us: Entropy sings about the interactions between people and represents the warmth and coldness of these relationships. It also saw the band try variety of genres.

With their amazing releases, Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon continue to leave their mark in the music industry as Day6 — a group that stays timeless and sing about every moment. And in appreciation for the music of Day6 and in anticipation of the boys’ return to the Philippine concert stage on November 23 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum, we listed down six of the many great hits that hit us hard with feels every time.

READ: 6 Reasons Why Day6 World Tour “Gravity” In Manila Is A Must-See Show

    “Congratulations”

“Congratulations”, the lead single of Day6’s first extended play The Day, is personally one of the best debut songs in K-Pop. It hooks you from the get go with Dowoon’s drum introduction that meets with a soft guitar entrance and Jae’s vocals. The lyrics pierce the heart with its bitter words. The pain relayed by the song was highlighted by the music video that features Choi Woo Shik and Jang Hee Ryung.

    “You Were Beautiful”

Released in February as part of the Every Day6 project, “You Were Beautiful” continues the story of “Congratulations” with its music video featuring Choi Woo Shik once again. The lyrics reminisce the memories the couple had — the guy appreciating the moments they had, but making it clear from the start that he does not have the intention to get back to what they had. It was a farewell song, of moving forward and finally getting a closure by coming into terms with the break up.

    For the last time

Your eyes that looked at me

Your voice that said “take care”

    Everything, everything

    even that, to me

    You were beautiful

Please tell me I’m not the only one that cries when listening to this song.

    “I Wait”

“I Wait” is the first single released through the Every Day6 project, along with the sidetrack “Goodbye Winter”. With this song, the band kicked off the monthly project with an impactful start, making the wait of My Days worthwhile as they get treated to an upbeat, rock song that begins with Wonpil’s keyboard and blends the message of the song nicely to the beats and the hints of melancholic melodies.

    “Hi Hello”

“Hi Hello” is another track from the Every Day6 project. Compared to “I Wait” and “You Were Beautiful”, this song was calmer and sweeter — a song that will be perfect for a summer road trip (or was it because of the music video?). The music video was also lovely and refreshing. While both “I Wait” and “You Were Beautiful” tug the heart with their seemingly melancholic lyrics, “Hi Hello” was delicate and filled with harmony.

    “I Need Somebody”

The October release for Every Day6 gifted the world with two impressive tracks from the boys — “When You Love Someone” and “I Need Somebody”. Both songs are mellow and slow in the best possible way and choosing one than the other has proven to be a challenging task, but for this list, “I Need Somebody” takes the spot as it conveys a different message from the other songs listed here.

The words “Why am I alone?” really get me every time I listen to this song. The lyrics of the song, overall, make you stare at nothingness and contemplate life, to be honest.

    “Beautiful Feeling”

We cannot end the list on a sad note, so what better way to cap it off but with “Beautiful Feeling”. I am a sucker for fan-dedicated songs and I really love the sound of this track — lighthearted and sweet. Day6 first performed the song during their You Made My Day fan meeting in Seoul in September 2018.

This list only highlighted six songs of Day6 — a challenge, to be honest — but the band has so much more to offer than what this article can contain. Check out the amazing discography of the band and dive into the most beautiful feeling of listening to their songs as we countdown to ten more days before Day6 hits Manila with the sweetest chaos at the SMART Araneta Coliseum on November 23!

The boys’ love for the stage and their enjoyment in performing radiate through their performances, passion they exhibited during their first solo concert last year at the New Frontier Theater.

Although filmed performances and fancams do exist (which we are thankful for, to be honest), there is only so much you can see through your screens or those fancams you watch over and over again. Seeing Day6 live and witnessing first-hand their live stages will wow you even more. And those songs you have been wishing to see them perform? You can enjoy them fully during a concert.

#2 Getting Lost In The Feels With The Roller Coaster Of Emotions Their Discography Can Give

Since their debut in 2015 with their first extended play The Day led by “Congratulations”, Day6 has impressed with their wide-ranging discography that includes “Letting Go”, “I Wait”, “You Were Beautiful”, “I Loved You”, “Shoot Me”, “Beautiful Feeling”, “Time Of Our Life”, and their most recent single “Sweet Chaos”.

Their songs have the ability to elicit emotions and hit its listeners right in the feels with their lyrics that talked about various topics — from falling in love, going through a heartbreak, moving on, growing up, embracing oneself, and so much more.

    #3 Head-Banging To New Sooooongs!

Earlier this week, Day6 added a new album on My Days’ playlist with the release of their third regular album The Book Of Us: Entropy last October 22, introducing 11 songs namely “Deep In Love”, the title track “Sweet Chaos”, “Emergency”, “Rescue Me”, “365247”, “About Now”, “Ouch”, “Not Fine”, “Stop Talking”, “Not Mine”, and “Like A Flowing Wind”.

It’s still unsure if the band will include these songs in the set list their remaining concerts for DAY6 WORLD TOUR <GRAVITY> (including the Manila stop). Still, as the concert tour is done in support of their fifth extended play The Book of Us: Gravity, new songs will definitely be added to the set list of their last year’s concert because it will now include “For Me”, “Time Of Our Life”, “How To Love”, “Wanna Go Back”, “Cover”, and “Best Part”.

#4 See Day6 Go All Out As They Take Over A Bigger Stage

For an energetic and passionate band such as Day6, a small stage is never enough to contain all their energy and dedication to the stage and their performances. That’s why, this year, expect Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon to go all out and give their best stages as they stand on a bigger stage — the SMART Araneta Coliseum — and be cheered on by a greater number of My Days.

#5 Enjoying The Moments With Your Fellow My Days

Aside from seeing your favorite artists, concerts also give fans the opportunity to bond and let out all their feels with people who share the same passion and love. November 23 will be the day you get to meet your fellow My Days from all over the Philippines (and the world), cheering loud and proud and painting the venue with your fandom colors.

Join your fellow fans in sending your big love to Day6 through fan projects and fan chants. We guarantee you. It will be a moment you won’t forget because these people know what you feel. And be warned, you might get drown in so much feels, so bringing tissues won’t hurt for pre-caution *winks

#6 It’s Day6 — The Band That Is Worth All The Wait

We have listed five reasons so far, but really, it all comes down to this one reason — Day6. Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon missed you and are excited to once again meet you once again with new songs, superb performances, and words they wanted to relay to all of you.

In case you missed it, Lee Seung Gi is coming to the Philippines on October 12 at the New Frontier Theater to take his fans to a voyage of a lifetime through the 2019 LEE SEUNG GI ASIA FAN MEETING <VAGABOND VOYAGE>.

READ MORE: Lee Seung Gi To Take PH Airens To A Voyage Of A Lifetime In His First Manila Fan Meeting

And today, October 2, marks exactly ten days before we get to meet the Triple Threat Entertainer and be part of his first ever fan meeting event in the country. We count down the days until D-Day with a list of seven dramas of Lee Seung Gi you should definitely binge-watch to prepare you for the overflowing feels on October 12. Please bear in mind that these dramas are listed in order of release (because, really, how can you easily rank all of Lee Seung Gi’s drama when they are all precious on their own?)

Ready, PH Airens? Let the countdown begin!

    #1 Brilliant Legacy (2009)

After making his official debut as an actor in 2006 through The Infamous Chil Sisters, Lee Seung Gi returned to the small screen with the 2009 television series Brilliant Legacy as Sunwoo Hwan. His portrayal of the character earned him an Excellence Award for an Actor in a Special Planning Drama at that year’s SBS Drama Awards. His chemistry with Han Hyo Joo also led them to take home the Best Couple Award in the same award ceremony.

With a total of 28 episodes, Brilliant Legacy will take you to a whirlwind of emotions as it touches on love, family, and oneself. If you are up for a drama with a tinge of romance and comedy, give this SBS drama a try because it did not become one of the top-rated Korean drama that year without a reason, right?

    #2 My Girlfriend Is A Nine-Tailed Fox

Probably one of the best romantic-comedy television series in South Korea (writer’s opinion), My Girlfriend Is A Nine-Tailed Fox introduced us to Lee Seung Gi’s Cha Dae Woong, an aspiring actor. Dae Woong was cute, funny, and sweet — a portrayal that gave Lee Seung Gi another Excellene Award for an Actor in a Drama Special at the SBS Drama Awards in 2010. His team up with Shin Min Ah, who played the adorable gumiho, was also that year’s Best Couple Awardee.

If you are not up for a bit of makjang in Brillian Legacy, the laughs and kilig this drama will give you is your next bet for a feel-good watch. Gotta warn you though: prepare a box of tissue as you reach the latter episodes.

Another plus points for this drama for its sweet original soundtrack including Lee Seung Gi’s “Losing My Mind” which won a Bonsang and the Best OST Song at MelOn Music Awards.

    #3 The King 2 Hearts

The King 2 Hearts is one of the best Lee Seung Gi drama and his character as Prince Lee Jae Ha will always be a favorite among all the characters he got to play in his 15 years in the industry. The MBC television series, which aired in 2012, put together a brilliant set of actors — Lee Seung Gi, Ha Ji Won, Jo Jung Suk, Yoon Je Moon, and Lee Yoon Ji — together and brought to life a story that was intriguing, captivating, and tear-jerking.

If you are up for a unique storyline that brings you to an alternate reality where South Korea is under a constitutional monarchy and a joint military collaboration between the two Koreas exist, it’s time to ready yourself for an all-nighter because once you started it, you can’t stop it. It won the Silver Bird Prize for an Outstanding Korean Drama at the 7th Seoul International Awards and earned its cast members various awards and nominations from different award-giving bodies.

    #4 Gu Family Book

Before Vagabond happened, Lee Seung Gi and Suzy worked together in the 2013 MBC drama Gu Family Book. The drama aired from April 8 to June 25, 2013, closing its run with its highest viewership rating at 19.5 percent based on AGB Nielsen’s data.

His portrayal of the half-human, half-gumiho Choi Kang Chi earned him the Top Excellence Award for an Actor in a Mini Series at the MBC Drama Awards. He also took home a Popularity Award and a Best Couple Award with Suzy in the same award ceremony.

If you want a drama with a bit of historical flare, partnered with action and fantasy and sweetened by romance, check out Gu Family Book and fall in love with Choi Kang Chi.

    #5 You’re All Surrounded

Before starting his mandatory military service, Lee Seung Gi played Eun Dae Gu/Kim Ji Yong in You’re All Surrounded. It has a total of 20 episodes which aired from May 7 to July 17, 2014. Through this drama, Lee Seung Gi boasted outstanding chemistry with his co-stars especially with Cha Seung Won who played Seo Pan Seok.

Although Lee Seung Gi did not bring home awards for his role in the television series, You’re All Surrounded is a good watch for those who are into crime and investigative stories. Plus, you will love the relationship of the Violent Crimes team.

    #6 A Korean Odyssey

Fresh from his military discharge, Lee Seung Gi immediately went back to work and joined the cast of A Korean Odyssey which reunited him with the Hong Sisters who wrote My Girlfriend Is A Nine-Tailed Fox and with Cha Seung Won whom he has worked with in You’re All Surrounded.

A Korean Odyssey presented a modern spin-off of Journey to the West, a Chinese classic novel (FYI, Lee Seung Gi was part of the variety show New Journey to the West which also took inspiration from the story). The television series is a fun-watch thanks to the sweet banters of Lee Seung Gi and Cha Seung Won.

    #7 Vagabond

If you love the chemistry of Lee Seung Gi and Suzy, lucky you! The two reunited, after five years, through Vagabond which premiered on September 20. It’s only on its fourth episode, so you can catch up on the happenings.

While Gu Family Book gave us fantasy, romance, and drama, Vagabond is more action-packed with the right amount of thrill and romance. If you are into spy stories, Vagabond says hi!
