All Systems Go for Aurora Music Festival 2026: 5th Anniversary OPM Celebration Heads to Clark
The countdown is on for the highly anticipated return of the Aurora Music Festival, as organizers confirm that all systems are set for its milestone 5th anniversary edition on May 2–3 at Clark Global City.
Expected to draw tens of thousands of music fans, the two-day event is shaping up to be one of the biggest Original Pilipino Music (OPM) gatherings of the year—continuing Aurora’s rise as a major fixture in the country’s live entertainment calendar.
What began as an ambitious platform to spotlight Filipino music has, over the past five years, evolved into one of the most anticipated festivals in the Philippines. Aurora has distinguished itself by bringing together a diverse mix of artists across generations and genres, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience multiple OPM icons and rising stars on a single stage.
Leading this year’s lineup are P-pop powerhouse SB19 and genre-defying band IV of Spades—two acts widely regarded as among the most influential in the modern Filipino music scene. Their headline performances are expected to be among the festival’s biggest draws, with fans traveling from across the country to witness their sets.
Beyond its headliners, Aurora Music Festival continues its tradition of curating a powerhouse roster of performers. Among the most notable names is Sarah Geronimo, whose enduring career and string of chart-topping hits have cemented her status as the country’s “Popstar Royalty.”
Also joining the lineup are acclaimed folk-pop collective Ben&Ben and alternative rock mainstays December Avenue, both known for their emotionally resonant anthems that have become staples of contemporary OPM playlists.
Singer-songwriter Armi Millare adds depth to the bill with her signature lyrical storytelling and distinct musicality, while OPM mainstays Parokya ni Edgar and Kamikazee are set to deliver the high-energy performances that have defined their decades-long careers.
The festival also leans into nostalgia, featuring appearances from SexBomb Girls—whose recent reunion reignited fan excitement—and singer-songwriter Kitchie Nadal, whose timeless hits continue to resonate with audiences across generations.
As international acts continue to dominate the concert scene, Aurora Music Festival stands out as a strong platform dedicated to celebrating Filipino artistry. By spotlighting homegrown talent on a large-scale stage, the festival reinforces the continued growth and global potential of OPM.
Marking its fifth year, organizers promise an even bigger and more immersive festival experience. From sunset performances to late-night encores, attendees can expect a weekend filled with high-energy sets, sing-along moments, and a shared celebration of Filipino music culture.
Tickets are expected to sell out fast as anticipation continues to build for Aurora Music Festival 2026. Fans are encouraged to secure their passes early via the official ticketing platforms: SM Tickets and the event’s official website at https://ticket.epiceventsph.com/.

From folktronica to indigenous hip-hop, Our Shame and HengJones co-headline the regional music showcase and conference festival alongside artists from Singapore, Indonesia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
Taiwanese new wave hits the Philippines this month as alternative pop duo Our Shame and acclaimed hip-hop artist HengJones co-headline All Of The Noise 2026, a three-day, multi-venue and culture festival set across Astbury Makati (April 17 and 19), Sari-Sari Makati (April 17 and 19), and 123 Block in Mandaluyong City (April 18).
As two of the most promising emerging voices in the Taiwanese independent music scene, both acts will be joining an eclectic roster of lineup from the Asia Pacific region, including Indonesia’s Grrrl Gang, Arash Buana, and Gavendri; New Zealand’s Phoebe Rings, Singapore’s Shye, and our very own BP Valenzuela, DJ Love, Elijah Canlas, Fitterkarma, Ourselves the Elves, SOS, and more.
Making their official debut in Manila, Our Shame and HengJones bring distinct sonic identities honed by culture, experimentation, and storytelling. Our Shame will perform at the intimate Sari-Sari stage on April 17, while HengJones takes over the outdoor stage at 123 Block on April 18.
Our Shame arrives on the heels of their critically acclaimed Hidden Album, a concept-driven project that explores themes of intimacy and discovery through a layered folktronica lens. Combining acoustic instrumentation with field recordings and electronic textures that extend from trip-hop to UK garage influences, the indie duo makes compelling pop tunes that are sonically understated but whose songwriting feels personal and immersive. The Taiwanese pairing is currently developing extended works from the album, including prospective international collaborations with plans for a tour in Japan in late 2026 or early 2027.
HengJones, on the other hand, continues to gather incredible recognition for his debut album, fangcalay a tamedaw—a deeply introspective body of work rooted in Indigenous Pangcah (Amis) identity. Built on themes of matriarchal narratives and language preservation, the project reflects an important intersection of heritage and contemporary hip-hop culture. Following a well-lauded performance in Shibuya, Japan, HengJones is currently working on a new material featuring a Japanese producer, alongside major appearances and an upcoming nationwide tour in his home country, Taiwan.
Beyond live performances, All Of The Noise 2026 expands its cultural footprint through its Cut Through The Noise conference, tackling key issues shaping the regional music ecosystem, and Echoes of the Noise, a curated program of music documentaries exploring the intersections of sound, identity, and social movements.
With its multi-platform programming and cross-border collaborations, All Of The Noise 2026 continues its commitment to positioning the Philippines’ growing role as a vital hub in Asia’s burgeoning independent music landscape.
From world-class performances to songwriting collaborations, business matchmaking to industry dialogue, this year’s edition proved that the true rhythm of Southeast Asia lies in its spirit of community, innovation, and collaboration
AXEAN Festival 2025 recently concluded its most triumphant edition yet at Jimbaran Hub in Bali, Indonesia, attracting nearly 4,000 attendees and cementing its place as one of the region’s most influential music discovery platforms.
With glowing reviews praising its impressive curation and visionary programming, the sixth edition of AXEAN Festival 2025 delivered a dynamic fusion of discovery, dialogue, and community. The festival not only celebrated the region’s finest emerging talents but also fostered meaningful exchanges between artists, industry professionals, and delegates from around the world, reinforcing its reputation as a bridge between Southeast Asia’s creative energy and the global music stage.
A Celebration of Discovery and Identity
This year’s edition featured a lineup of more than 40 artists across three stages, culminating in one of the weekend’s standout moments—the Club SEA Showcase. Dedicated to the explosive rise of grassroots and club music across the region, the showcase ignited the dance floor with stellar performances by Singapore’s Fauxe, Thailand’s S.O.L.E., Philippines’ DJ Love, and Indonesia’s Feel Koplo x Toxicdev!.
With their unique tapestry of local textures, tropical rhythms, and theatrical flair, these artists embodied AXEAN’s ethos of celebrating regional identity in global contexts, leaving audiences in awe and critics calling it “a defining moment in Southeast Asia’s club culture.”
Beyond the stage: a Platform for Growth and Exchange
Now in its sixth year, AXEAN Festival has grown into far more than a music showcase. It has evolved into a comprehensive cultural and business platform, one that nurtures collaboration, facilitates cross-border partnerships, and accelerates the professional development of Southeast Asian artists.
The festival’s conference programming impressed attendees with its forward-looking themes and engaging discourse. Over two days, panels and networking sessions explored vital industry topics, including:
1. Beyond the Upload: Strategies for Long-Term Growth for Southeast Asian Artists
2. Rethinking Music’s Footprint: Practical Pathways for Southeast Asia’s Music Scenes
3. From Funkot to Budots: The Booming Wave of Southeast Asia’s Grassroots Dance Music
4. Across the Pacific: Strengthening Music Ties Between New Zealand and Southeast Asia
The conference’s business matchmaking sessions and structured networking activities drew enthusiastic participation from regional and international delegates alike, creating new touring partnerships, booking opportunities, potential signings, and collaborative projects that will continue to resonate beyond festival grounds.
“The response was overwhelmingly positive,” said Mahanugru Kinzana, Head of Business & Commercial of Jimbaran Hub. “The structured networking sessions created genuine opportunities for dialogue between artists, managers, and delegates. AXEAN has become a rare space where serious industry conversations can happen within a creative, inspiring environment.”
Songwriting Camp: Building the Sound of Tomorrow
In line with its artist-first philosophy, AXEAN Festival 2025 extended its creative spirit beyond the main event through its Songwriting Camp, which brought together select artists and producers from across Asia to collaborate, co-create, and push the boundaries of regional sound.
“The songwriting camp was overflowing with talent—truly a gathering of geniuses from across Asia,” said Kinzana. “What stood out was how naturally diverse voices blended to create something fresh, yet deeply rooted in our region’s identity. For me, it reinforced a bigger realization: Southeast Asian music doesn’t just have talent, it has a distinct character that deserves a clear and strong positioning in the global music scene. The camp captured that spirit in the most inspiring way.”
AXEAN co-founder Piyapong Muenprasertdee shared the same sentiment, adding, “By the third day, something magical happened—all the artists came together to create one collective track, a true regional collaboration. More than writing songs, they build friendships and creative ecosystems that will carry forward long after the festival.”
Local Roots, Global Reach
This year also saw AXEAN deepening its ties with the local creative community through new partnerships with Jimbaran Hub and Bali-based organizations. A co-organized local music competition led to the discovery of standout talents Morbid Monke and Gozal, whose performances captivated international delegates and underscored the island’s growing relevance in the regional music map.
“Originally, we planned to feature just one winner, but the quality of the artists was so outstanding that we added a second slot,” shared Muenprasertdee. “These unexpected highlights reminded us of the importance of creating genuine opportunities for discovery and exchange.”
A Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, AXEAN Festival reaffirms its commitment to Bali as its home base, with ambitious plans to expand regionally through satellite events and stronger artist export pipelines. The next edition aims to enhance audience experience, sustainability, and global visibility, all while staying true to its core of inclusivity, collaboration, and discovery.
“We’re committed to growing the AXEAN Festival in Bali,” Kinzana asserts. “Bali offers a perfect balance: an international destination that combines serious industry engagement with world-class hospitality. Our next focus is to strengthen the story and experience of AXEAN so that more audiences connect deeply with what we stand for.”
Muenprasertdee added, “We hope to establish a permanent home for AXEAN here while also developing satellite events across the region to strengthen local ecosystems and create touring routes for our artists. Looking ahead, our strategy focuses on three key areas: (1) strengthening artist export pipelines by deepening ties with international delegates, (2) expanding fan engagement so AXEAN grows into both an industry platform and a beloved cultural festival, and (3) enhancing sustainability—financially, socially, and environmentally—so the festival can continue to thrive and evolve for years to come.”

The inaugural event expands its offering with a more comprehensive music showcase and conference programming, along with an enhanced songwriting camp. This year’s edition introduces AXEAN Festival’s very own SEA Club Showcase, honoring the grassroots electronic and dance music genres in Southeast Asia that are taking the world by storm.
AXEAN Festival proudly announces its return to Bali this year with an expanded vision and more comprehensive programming. Happening from September 13-14, 2025, at the Jimbaran Hub, Southeast Asia’s first intra-regional music showcase event is set to transform the island into a two-day convergence of sound, innovation, culture, and collaboration.
Positioned as a “celebration across borders,” AXEAN Festival will showcase over 40 emerging and established acts from Southeast Asia and beyond while exploring new educational and collaborative formats that strengthen the creative and business ecosystems across the region.
Building on last year’s acclaimed edition, this year’s event elevates its commitment to providing a holistic experience not only for the fans but also for the artists and industry stakeholders that make this celebration possible.
“AXEAN Festival has always been a labor of love for all of us co-founders—driven by passion, run pro bono, and built with bootstrapped resources,” shares AXEAN Festival co-founder and team leader Piyapong Muenprasertdee. “We’ve consistently pushed the limits of what’s possible with limited funding, and the positive impact we’ve made so far is a testament to that dedication.”
Piyapong adds, “We’ll keep doing what we do best: turning passion into purpose and creating meaningful opportunities for artists and industry alike—whether we’re working with a shoestring budget or something more.”
Among the festival’s hallmark offerings this year is its music conference segment, featuring curated panel discussions, business pitching sessions, and structured speed meetings between delegates and artists, which were designed to foster impactful conversations and long-term partnerships.
In addition, AXEAN Festival hones its artist-centered programming with the return of its songwriting camp—a four-day initiative inviting select showcasing artists, producers, and songwriters to co-create in an intimate, cross-cultural setting. The inaugural camp last year resulted in the creation of 20 original songs, exemplifying the creative possibilities the festival cultivates.
For the first time, AXEAN Festival also shines a spotlight on Southeast Asia’s burgeoning rave, dance, and electronic culture with the launch of its SEA Club Showcase—a live music platform dedicated to regional electronic subcultures such as Indonesian funkot or dangdut, Vietnamese vinahouse, Singaporean/Malaysian manyao, and Filipino budots. The newly minted stage honors the unique grassroots genres that are redefining the international club scene with distinctly local flair.

AXEAN Festival Co-founder and co-director David Siow emphasizes the importance of authenticity and intent in the festival’s DNA: “On the delegates’ front, the intentions of the AXEAN team are clear—we really just want the artists to succeed, and we do all we can to make that happen. People do sense authenticity and intent, so having a unified goal and communicating that honestly allows for the music industry to trust us.”
David also pointed out how AXEAN Festival’s casual and welcoming nature contributed to its success and appeal. “The relaxed and jubilant atmosphere of the festival, conference, and songwriting camp, are direct reflection of the personalities in the AXEAN team. But don’t be fooled; some serious business and networking is happening for delegates and artists whilst the public enjoys the showcasing part.”
Piyapong agrees with David’s statements, noting that AXEAN Festival’s success lies in its people. “Over the years, I’ve made it a personal mission to invite people I’ve connected with—those who bring positive vibes and a collaborative spirit—to simply come as they are,” he shares. “This openness creates a welcoming atmosphere where even first-time attendees or those who come alone can feel at ease, enjoy the music and environment, and organically build meaningful connections. That positive energy is contagious—it helps break down barriers, encourages real conversations, and often leads to exciting new collaborations and business opportunities. In the end, it’s the community spirit and the human connection that make the festival truly special.”
Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, the team envisions expanding the festival’s reach through deeper strategic partnerships, enhanced sustainability measures, and ever more dynamic, inclusive programming.
“Whether you’re a delegate, an artist, or a music lover attending for the first time, we invite you to discover the joy of connection, creativity, and cultural celebration at AXEAN Festival 2025,” says Piyapong.
Jimbaran Hub partnership
This year’s edition of the AXEAN Festival is proudly co-presented by Jimbaran Hub, a leading cultural and lifestyle center in Bali known for fostering community connection and creative exchange. Mahanugra Kinzana, Head of Business & Commercial of Jimbaran Hijau—the parent organization of Jimbaran Hub—expressed enthusiasm about renewing their collaboration with the festival for this special initiative.
“Jimbaran Hub is more than just a venue or a space. It is a cultural hub and nexus where authentic tradition and contemporary adaptations thrive. We foster local talent, empower communities, and bridge Indonesia’s vast heritage with the world. The AXEAN Festival 2025 embodies this very vision, uniting Southeast Asian creativity to highlight and showcase the region’s cultural scene, transforming our hub into a vibrant and powerful stage for global artistic exchange.”

The first intra-regional music showcase event in Southeast Asia gears up for another meaningful convergence at the Jimbaran Hub, located on the southern tip of the island, and surrounded by breathtaking greenery and sunset views.
First time in Bali
“It has always been our vision to make AXEAN a regional traveling festival, changing host countries every year, or even having multiple smaller editions in different countries,” AXEAN Festival co-founder and team leader Piyapong Muenprasertdee reveals. “The reasoning stemmed from us seeing that most Southeast Asian music markets are either very domestic or receptive towards only Western or K-pop artists when it comes to international artists. Thus, if we could help domestic artists cross borders within the region, there could be more opportunities for them to grow an international fanbase. After 2 years in Singapore, we felt it was the right time to try a new place, and Bali is a tropical paradise with a growing music scene, we think it is the perfect location for artists, delegates, and music lovers alike.”
The festival activities will kick off with a music industry mixer and a private music showcase of Balinese talents on the day before the festival. It will be followed by a two-day music conference with networking activities in the morning and a music showcase festival featuring more than 50 music acts from Southeast Asia and beyond.

International songwriting camp
The acclaimed international showcase festival will wrap up with a private songwriting camp, the newest addition to its diverse and extensive range of programming. The initiative aims to foster a spirit of creativity and inclusivity in a globalized setting while nurturing cross-cultural collaboration amongst the finest and most promising songwriters, producers, and artists in the ASEAN region and also from other regions of the world.
AXEAN Festival co-founder and co-director David Siow advocates for a more DIY approach to the songwriting camp, backed by its purpose of empowering and connecting a community of music creatives from all around the world while ensuring equitable outcomes and opportunities from the series of collaborative sessions.
“For us, it’s all about enabling artists and furthering their careers; for Bali, it just made sense to do a camp and create good vibes, memories, and tracks for all involved,” Siow explains.
Muenprasertdee, the festival’s co-director, also emphasized the importance of the songwriting camp, not just in breaking barriers literally and metaphorically, but also in producing strategic collaborations that have proven to help artists enter new markets by sharing fanbases. He cited Flower.far from Thailand with Fern. from the Philippines; and Vũ Thanh Vân from Vietnam with H 3 F from Thailand as some of the recent success stories.
“We hope a songwriting camp will help create an environment to foster more artistic collaborations and cross-border fanbases. Apart from some of this year’s showcasing artists, we have also invited some alumni, guest songwriters, and producers to make it more fun and productive! Be on the lookout for new music coming out from our camp!”

In the famed Amoranto Stadium, amidst the scorching heat of the summer sun, hard rock and heavy metal fans gathered for one last time as PULP Summer Slam said its goodbye with the loudest bang.
The longest-running metal festival in Southeast Asia, PULP Summer Slam, came to an end at the Amoranto Stadium last March 23 with its final show, PULP SUMMER SLAM XX WORLDS COLLIDE: THE END. The festival brought together nine internationally acclaimed bands for the most explosive gathering of fiery hard rock/heavy metal bands and fans.
This year’s The SLAM featured a stellar lineup. Worlds have collided, true to the festival’s name, with the likes of headliner and Australia’s PARKWAY DRIVE, Italy’s FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, Brazil’s CRYPTA, South Korea’s ROLLING QUARTZ, Japan’s PROMPTS, the US’s LA DISPUTE, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, OF VIRTUE, and co-headliner STORY OF THE YEAR gracing the Philippine concert stage and giving the festival the rightful end as the most legitimate metal festival for Filipino fans.
Opening and setting the PULP Summer Slam XX stage were Japan’s PROMPTS and South Korea’ ROLLING QUARTZ, followed by Michigan’s OF VIRTUE who kept the audience head banging with songs like “Cannibals” and “Sober”. FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE came out next, embodying their overall aura like an undead orchestra from a bygone era. Their music is a cohesion of classical opera mixed with chugging guitars and demonic growls—a soundtrack of your darkest nightmares.
Brash, harsh and brutal—like a bulldozer running over anything on its path, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY added mayhem to the already frenzied crowd with tracks like “Hellion”, “A Higher Level of Hate”, and “The Sea of Tragic Beasts” keeping the mosh pit energy going. From the confines of Brazil came the all-female death metal group, CRYPTA, who unleashed their sonic fury for the very first time in Manila. Bassist and vocalist Fernanda Lira commanded the stage with intense wickedness and demonic growls, while guitarists Taina Bergamaschi and Jessica di Falchi and drummer Luana Dametto supplied the blistering guitar riffs and bone rattling blast beats.
Like a breath of fresh air, LA DISPUTE came to take on the Philippine concert stage next with vocalist Jordan Dreyer’s eclectic performance and spoken word poetry keeping the energy up and going and reflecting on their music of love, heartbreak, and the complexities of relationships in tracks like “Footsteps at the Pond”, “Andria”, and “King Park”.
PULP Summer Slam XX co-headliner STORY OF THE YEAR entered the stage with fiery as they jump and run around the stage like there’s no tomorrow, partnered by their high octane and passionately filled performances. Tracks like “Anthem of Dying Day” and “Until the Day I Die” got the crowd singing their lungs out with nostalgia filling the air.
As the stage lights goes dim, the crushing intro of “Glitch” reverberated in the air. The crowd went apesh*t as PARKWAY DRIVE, the festival’s headliner, entered the stage. Feeding off each other’s energy, the hungry crowd sang and jump along to every beat of their tracks like “Prey”, “Vice Grip”, and “Wild Eyes”, proving why they are considered a force to reckon with in the heavy music community.
Since its inception in 2000, the PULP Summer Slam has lived up to its promise of becoming the “annual mecca” for heavy metal fans from around the nation and the globe, where they come together to celebrate and support artists and one another in order to maintain the flame of the global heavy metal scene.
It is a privilege for The Philippine Concerts to have seen PULP Summer Slam grow to life throughout the years and to have shared in its path towards becoming Southeast Asia’s longest-running metal festival, as well as the gathering place for many Filipino heavy metal enthusiasts.
The longest-running metal festival in Southeast Asia bids farewell to the legion of Filipino heavy metal fans this coming March 23rd, 2024 at the famed Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City, but in true PULP-style, it will not go quietly into the night. In fact, it promises to be the year’s most explosive gathering of explosive hard rock/heavy metal bands and fans, in keeping the fine tradition of delivering the best artists the genre has to offer, and continuously elevating the overall concert experience for rock fans, through an impressive display of lights, sound, and perks like exclusive meet n’ greet packages for diehard aficionados.
The festival boasts of an all-international lineup of nine internationally acclaimed bands coming from all corners of the globe: from Italy, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE will be delivering a frighteningly impressive set of symphonic and technical death metal, while Sau Paolo Brazil’s CRYPTA is an all-female death metal outfit that has been making waves in the worldwide metal community. From Seoul, South Korea, genre-bending all-female rock outfit ROLLING QUARTZ will surely add a healthy dose of both sonic and visual candy to the lineup, and Japan’s PROMPTS are raising the flag for melodic heavy metal. And from various cities of the United States, bands like LA DISPUTE (a post-hardcore group from Grand Rapids, Michigan), FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY (a New Jersey-based deathcore band), OF VIRTUE (metalcore from Lansing, Michigan) will be bringing various sounds and styles with their unique takes on the subgenres under the heavy metal umbrella, including co-headliners and modern punk rock band STORY OF THE YEAR, a surefire favorite that emerged and quickly rose to worldwide popularity during the early part of the millennium.
Headlining the festival to bring the metalcore thunder from down under is PARKWAY DRIVE, arguably one of the biggest Australian underground metal bands the world has ever seen. Hailing from Byron Bay, New South Wales, the band – featuring vocalist Winston McCall, guitarists Jeff Ling and Luke Kilpatrick, bassist Jia O’Connor, and drummer Ben Gordon – Parkway Drive is definitely anticipated by many fans, as this would be their second time in the country, the first show being 12 years ago in 2011 which was also produced by PULP Live World.
Without a doubt, PULP Summer Slam will forever hold its legacy as being the most legitimate metal festival for Filipino fans since its first installment in the year 2000. It has become an annual mecca of sorts, where fans from all over the country – and the world – gather to celebrate and support both artists and each other to keep the flame of the worldwide heavy metal scene burning bright.
Tickets to PULP Summer Slam XX Worlds Collide: The End are still available through www.pulptickets.com, SM Tickets, and TicketNet outlets nationwide and online.
