Meeting Anchor: Hundred Days Miracle with HORI7ON

A hundred days miracle with HORI7ON and their ANCHOR.

Jeromy Batac, Marcus Cabais, Kyler Chua, Vinci Malizon, Reyster Yton, Kim Ng, and Winston Pineda are seven young, good-looking guys who came out on top and are now in South Korea to train to become international P-Pop stars proudly carrying the Philippine flag with them as HORI7ON.

    HORI7ON
HORI7ON met the members of the press ahead of their first fan meeting. During the press conference, the members got candid, sharing TMIs, fun memories with each other, and more.

Prior to the planned training, the septet held a sold-out first pre-debut fan meet at the New Frontier Theater on April 22, 2023, presented by DNM Entertainment.

They opened with “Take My Hand,” the title song from Dream Maker, the survival reality program where the members of HORI7ON met and established the boy group. Following their initial performance, the group introduced themselves to the audience and shared personal greetings with their devoted followers.
They then proceeded to play their pre-debut song “DASH,” to which the audience responded with huge applause and fan chants that they had planned beforehand. After this, we all participated in a few entertaining games, which everyone had a great time with.

The unveiling of HORI7ON’s official fandom name made the evening even more remarkable. The group’s fanbase has adopted the name “ANCHOR”. HORI7ON’s ever-supportive fanbase “gives a meaning that the fans will become the compass as the anchors of the boat,” a name that will make you feel you’ve made an unbreakable relationship with the boy group and be the inspiration and motivation for all of their future successes. Vinci has mentioned that their followers are the reason they keep going, and he wishes them the same success that they have had. He went on to thank the audience for their unwavering support, which prompted the group to release the pre-debut song “Salamat” to express their gratitude.

Several games were in place for them to really have a good time with their crowd. They played Whisper Game, and Drawing Game. In addition, they danced to different K-Pop songs, including EXO’s Kaiโ€™s “Rover”, ENHYPENโ€™s “Fever”, SEVENTEEN’s BSSโ€™ “Fighting”, EXOโ€™s “Growl”, and SEVENTEEN’s “Very Nice.”

The members closed their first fan meeting with encore performances of “Dash” and “Lovey Dovey”โ€” this time in cute onesies!

As the evening drew to a close, the HORI7ON members had ended their first fan meeting with the ANCHORS and had vowed to return with greater skill and creativity. The fan meeting was the group’s final performance in the Philippines before their much-anticipated debut in South Korea.

ANCHORS will be waiting for you! HORI7ON, soar high!

  • Weather Forecast: Love in the Air with a high chance of kilig!

Weather Forecast: Love in the Air with a high chance of kilig!

Love was truly in the air as the cast of Love in the Air spread good vibes in Manila!

The Manila BL Thai fans were given a treat when the sensational quartet cast of Love in the Air finally visited the Philippines! Boss, Noeul, Peat, and Fort who played Payu, Rain, Prapai, and Sky, respectively made a stop in SM North EDSA SkyDome last April 22, 2023, for a night of games, fun, and memories + kilig to the Filipino fans for their Asian tour, presented by Wish Us Luck Entertainment.

The ensemble did not fall short with fan service as the two couples, BossNoeul and FortPeat adoration for each other transcended from the screens and to real life throughout the night, even the in-between moments of song performances and fan interactive games.

With four big personalities on stage, there are also four big things that happened during and before the fan meet, and hereโ€™s how it went down:

    Meet With the Press

Ahead of their fan meet, they met with the members of the press to share their love for Filipino fans, excitement, and thoughts about their careers. We asked them four questions that revealed how they prepared for the tour, their thoughts about their fans, each other, and the Love in the Air Series.

Philippine Concerts: You are now embarking on a fan meeting with stops in different Asian cities. How did you prepare for this tour?

Noeul: First, I have to be physically fit and mentally fit to be ready to meet the love of the fans.

Boss: Other than the show itself, each country has a different culture, so I also recognize that I will tailor each show to each country.

Peat: Other than that, I also prepared for the tour by eating! I also want to try different cuisines in each country because this is something I can share with the local fans.

Fort: On top of what everyone said, I also prepared to learn a bit of the language in each country so I can communicate with the fans because it would be nice if we can all understand each other.

PC: What are you most excited about your fan meeting in Manila and what memories do you wish your fans to remember most in this fan meeting?

Fort: I really want the fans to be happy. We heard some fans fly all the way to Thailand to meet us, but now weโ€™re finally here to be close to the fans and to share the joy of being together.

Peat: I want you all to know that this fan meeting is another way to get close together. I want us to enjoy and laugh together.

Noeul: On top of what they all said, I want to see all the laughter. I want to remember this for a long time.

PC: Take us back to the moment all of you first met. What was your initial impression of one another, and did it change as you got to know one another?

Peat: I think itโ€™s like the first time you meet a stranger. There are a lot of things you donโ€™t know about each other, but right now, itโ€™s something Iโ€™m actually happy about because all four of us are very open to each other now. We have removed the barrier we had as strangers from day 1 and we are very close. I am happy that we are all together for this project.

PC: Among the scenes in Love in the Air, which one was the most memorable and why?

Boss: It’s very hard to pick one! The reason for this is that this is the first time I (we) became a leader in a show. So every part of the series is a memorable moment for us. We try our best as well because the producers try their best to make the show possible so we really cannot pick. Itโ€™s tough for the first time and every minute is a good experience for us.

A fun meet with the Love in the Air cast

A fan meeting is always full of interactive games and question-and-answer portions that will reveal more of the artistโ€™s thoughts. The games the foursome prepared not only included these but also involved lucky fans from the crowd in some competitions! Here are the portions that ensued during the event that gave the fans extra zing that will be filed in their memories for a very long time:

    Forecast the Weather with BossNoeul

In this segment, BossNoeul sat with the host and they have two slogans with them that represent the symbol of each, Rain symbol for Noeul and Storm symbol for Boss. The game is to put the pickets up when the answer to the questions that will follow corresponds to the person more. Among the questions that are memorable is โ€œWho cries a lotโ€, which both of them agree is Boss, Boss claims he cries a lot because heโ€™s a sensitive person. Another is โ€œWho gives the warmest hugsโ€ which also answers Boss.

And even before the host asks for a โ€œsampleโ€ for the fans, Boss already extended his arms to welcome Noeul in his arms. The spiciest question is โ€œWho is the better kisser,โ€ which caused a wave of frenzy among the crowd. The two boys freaked out a little with their fans before answering the question, even causing Noeul to stand from his seat. They teased the crowd by saying, โ€œYou have to watch the show first to know who kisses better!โ€ but proceed to almost make everyone almost faint anyway when Boss held Noeulโ€™s chin and laughs to tease the crowd. What. A. Tease!

Be a Cloud Expert with FortPeat

This game put FortPeatโ€™s soulmate radar to the test when two boys were given identical boards, with cloud-shaped answers plastered on them. The game is the couple has to guess the answer to each question that talks about the likes, habits, aspirations, and ideas of each. Some memorable moments are when asked, โ€œWhat is Peatโ€™s most embarrassing moment?โ€ Fort could not answer because he couldnโ€™t read the choices, which caused him to break down a little in Peatโ€™s arms. Another is โ€œWhat is Fortโ€™s most memorable moment?โ€ in which they both got right with the answer: โ€œBecoming a Love in the Air actor.โ€ A question about โ€œWhat is Peatโ€™s dream role?โ€ which the fans already know: Luffy from One Piece if will ever have a live actions series. And โ€œWhat is Fortโ€™s favorite subject in school?โ€ which the fans coached both of them into answering Science. Like idols, like fans!

Wind in my Eye with the Fans!

How often do you get eye contact with your idol? Chances are slim when fan meetings or concerts ensue, especially when youโ€™re trying to get your idolโ€™s attention with thousands of fans doing the same thing. So how lucky are these fans who got to go on stage and challenge the cast of Love in the Air with a game that tests how long you can look them in the eye? VERY. Fans of the charismatic boys went into full sugar high when four lucky fans came on stage and battled with our very handsome cast to win a prize in the end! The rule is to not blink, not look away and maintain eye contact with the actor the fans were assigned to. (Editorโ€™s Note: I personally wouldnโ€™t be able to handle that.)

Boss and Noeul competed first with two fans, but the gaze of the couple was so strong that the girls lost within 9 seconds! What charisma they hold! Naturally, the FortPeat couple is up to compete next, and noticeably, Peat and the girl he was competing with got closer and closer until Peat got defeated! One point for the fans! As a prize, the girls won exclusive Polaroid pictures with the boys they competed with taken on stage! Note that that picture is only one of a kind in the world! This is a fangirlโ€™s/fanboyโ€™s dream come true!

Guess Whatโ€™s In the Box with the Fans

A popular game that produces funny reactions from celebrities is Guess the Item in the Box and this fan meeting borrowed the game for the night. The fans this time will compete if they can guess what items are inside the box and if they win, they get a Polaroid shot with one of the boys on stage!

Fans showed their skill in the game by winning and snagging the prize by guessing โ€˜steel woolโ€™ as the item and the boys cutely played with the item after, even putting them on their heads as a hat. This already shows that the Thai actors are comfortable with their crowd, by showing off their goofy side. Why wouldnโ€™t they be comfortable when Filipinos are always dubbed as the best audience in the world, no matter how big or small the event is? This is proven right when the fourth big thing that happened during the fan meeting was orchestrated by the fans themselves.

Tune in the Air with Love in the Air cast

The third big thing of the night is the musical segments. Not only are the foursome good in acting but theyโ€™re very accomplished in the musical aspect too! They opened the fan meet with a song called โ€œLove in the Airโ€, an OST for their Love in the Air series, a soft ballad that stressed each of the boysโ€™ soft voices. You can tell that the fans really prepared for the fan meeting when the whole SkyDome started singing along with the boys.

Of course, the whole series wouldnโ€™t be complete if each couple didnโ€™t have a song. Boss and Noeul, who were first highlighted in the series as a couple, sang a more upbeat OST, โ€œMy Strongest Love.โ€ This performance was before the question-and-answer game ensued, which gave us a taste of what the couple prepared for the Filipino fans as they teased the crowd with small interactions. Wearing matching oversized black get-ups, they got closer and closer, driving the fans a little crazier with the smaller distance from each other.

Of course, the adorable FortPeat have their own song, and they sang it together in matching jean fashion. They sang โ€œNever Sayโ€, another OST from the series, which is a sway-inducing song that fits the boysโ€™ sweet voices. FortPeat had all the unsubtle looks at each other, the bumping of shoulders, and the putting-the-arm around moments were seen on stage and set a different frenzy to the crowd.

From here on, you can already see the distinction between BossNoeul and the FortPeat couples. While the first couple thrived with teasing the fans, the second couple wasnโ€™t even hesitating with the skin ship, as they are the obvious playful painted couple, whereas BossNoeulโ€Œ is more serious, chill, and subtle. As different as the couples are from each other, all four of them know exactly which buttons to press to push the fans on the edge. That marks what a good entertainer is, and itโ€™s clear that the four actors are great ones.

All four of them covered a song called โ€œเน€เธซเธกเนˆเธญเน„เธกเนˆเน„เธ”เน‰เธกเธญเธ‡ (Your Sights)โ€, a song that was originally a soundtrack from another BL Thai series called โ€œ7 Years of Love” from the same entertainment that produced LITA. This portion highlighted BossNoeulโ€™s love team and FortPeat was even the culprit of some moments that shook the event when they pushed Boss and Noeul closer to each other while the song ensued. (Editorโ€™s note: Iโ€™m convinced my jaw dropped when they got too close to each otherโ€™s faces and smiled at each other. In front of my salad?! I canโ€™t.)

The puppy-like and energetic couple FortPeat were also spotlighted with their own cover of a song, again from the โ€œ7 Years of Loveโ€, โ€œเน€เธ˜เธญเธ„เธทเธญเน‚เธฅเธเธ—เธฑเน‰เธ‡เนƒเธš (My world)โ€. The couple was smiling cutely all the way, even holding hands on the stage as they performed the song, each moment being another cause of a screaming wave, which the fans seem to canโ€™t get enough of.

And as true as Bossโ€™ words during the press conference, they prepared a lot for the Filipino fans by bringing a little of our culture to their stage! Clad in Barong Tagalog, they sang a classic Filipino song, โ€œCloser You and I,โ€ by our very own Gino Padilla while throwing out souvenirs to the fans! What a great way to end the evening! Iโ€™m sure a lot of Filipino fans will appreciate the effort the boys have put through to be closer to their fans here!

Fans with a chance of love and affection

After taking a small break from all the musical performances and the games that happened throughout the night, the four boys returned to the stage and looked even more dashing when they wore Barong Tagalog in pure white. Donโ€™t we love men in white? This portion was jam-packed with love fans are trying to give their idols with actions speaking louder than words.

First, they showed a surprise video of the journey of the four handsome men with LITA scenes after the boys took a crowd picture. There was also fan banner support that the lovely fans wholeheartedly raised while a fan project cake was served to the boys on stage. Fun fact, Fort shared these cakes in his Instagram stories!

There was also a big cloth banner with four chibi pictures of the boys in the middle, surrounded by handwritten messages from the fans, where you can see that the boys were previewing and reading the messages on stage. They also prepared a birthday cake for Noeul, and even though he will celebrate it on May 19, they still gave him a Filipino-styled birthday song greeting. There was even a food support present that was collaborated by multiple fan bases, food baskets and gift bags, and personalized light sticks. The dedication was evident, the passion overflowing and love is indeed in the air with all of this support obviously well-thought and executed perfectly. Congratulations to the fan bases who made it all possible! It was very clear that the boys were overwhelmed and thankful for all the effort you provided!

The night ended with perk ticket holders spending more time with the boys with a hi-bye session, a photo with the actors, from group to solo that corresponds according to the ticket holderโ€™s tiers, and a special poster signing for the Rain ticket tier holders.

There is no truer phrase other than love is in the air when the four handsome Thai actors reciprocated the love to their fans with effort and ample studying to get to know the Filipino fans better with all the gimmicks they pulled to relate to them better. And as always, Filipino fans do not fall short in giving it all out to show that they are the best fans in the world, with enthusiastic cheers and fan projects that show that there is no greater force in the universe than love that breaks the language barriers. Nothing stopped the love of the Filipino BL Thai fans that night and we are sure that even though the boys gave their all to make the fans happy, the fans will always be hungry and enthusiastic for more.

  • Celebrating A Decade and More of Laughter with RUNNING MAN

Celebrating A Decade and More of Laughter with RUNNING MAN

RUNNING MAN in Manila was a dream that finally became a reality!

RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER 2023 IN MANILA was a realization of a decade-long dream for many fans of the long-running South Korean variety show. For the first time since the show’s birth in 2010, the cast of Running Man met their beloved Runners in the Philippines โ€” unlocking new core memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Thousands of fans gathered last April 1 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena with excitement, a tinge of nervousness, and an effort to let the feeling finally sink in that โ€” after three years since the initial event announcement and after delays brought by the CoViD-19 pandemic โ€” it is happening. When the lights dimmed to signal the start of the show, thunderous cheers enveloped the arena which grew louder as Yoo Jae Suk sang his way on stage to the tune of BtoB’s “Missing You”, waving and bowing to everyone. One after the other, the other members entered the stage to continue the serenade.

Yoo Jae Suk, Jee Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, Song Ji Hyo, Yang Se Chan, and Jeon So Min looked on tenderly with grateful smiles on their faces as they waved and bowed to the fans who reciprocated the gestures with cheers and excited waves. The night’s hosts Ryan Bang and Kring Kim initiated the official welcome to the fan meeting event and gave the members the chance to say their personal greetings to their Runners.

Their greetings are filled with expressions of gratitude and admiration as well as joy at witnessing the fan meeting come to fruition. And in a typical Philippine concert/event crowd flair, the crowd made sure that their favorite stars knew how happy they were with cheers ringing out loudly and proudly.

    Running Man
South Korea’s Nation MC, Yoo Jae Suk, bows to the Philippine Runners as he takes the stage during the opening.

The fan event highlighted the close bond between the members that developed over the many years they have spent together. Running Man will mark its 13th anniversary in July of this year after premiering on July 11, 2010. The cast members maintained a humble and appreciative attitude despite the show’s enormous popularity and success, as evidenced by their interactions with the audience and the seemingly unending “thank yous” they give with each opportunity they have.

The fan meeting also allowed Filipino fans to witness firsthand how the cast play games. Yoo Jae Suk, Jee Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, Song Ji Hyo, Yang Se Chan, and Jeon So Min took on the challengesโ€” the relay game and the K-Pop dance quizโ€” with Runners. Kim Jong Kook and his partner triumphantly overcame the relay game in 23 seconds. The victory gifted Kim Jong Kook’s partner with signed personal items of the members. Meanwhile, the K-Pop dance quiz divided the members into two teams and an intense dance quiz ensued with both teams earning two points. As a prize, the Runners took Polaroid photos with the members.

But the thrill never subsided, and the treats kept coming with performances from the Running Man ensemble. With the 2017 song “Artist” by Zico, Yang Se Chan opened the performances. Afterwards, to everyone’s amazement, Ji Suk Jin performed “Ikaw” by Yeng Constantino. In response to the wonderful present, Filipino Runners sang along to Big-Nosed hyungnim. With her rendition of the boy band’s 2015 hit song “My Home,” Jeon So Min, who has acknowledged being a fan of 2PM, made every Hottest proud.

The fan meeting also welcomed a special appearance from Yoo San Seul (Yoo Jae Suk’s trot singer alter ego) who gave a hyped stage of “Redevelopment of Love”. The hype continued to flourish as HaHa took the stage with M. Tyson for a mash-up of RGP’s songs, such as “Don’t Laugh” and “DANG DIGGI BANG”. Song Ji Hyo then gave the most adorable performance of Brave Girls’ hit song “Rollin’”. Concluding the individual stages, Kim Jong Kook serenaded Manila with Adele’s “Easy On Me” and his 2004 song from his Evolution album, “One Man”.

Song Ji Hyo and Jeon So Min returned on stage with IVE’s “Love Dive”, which was then followed by a sentimental stage of “Raise Your Voice” by HaHa and Kim Jong Kook. Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin, and Jeon So Min took the baton next with “Confession of Your Love”.

The sweetness of the evening persisted with a duet between the show’s youngest members Jeon So Min and Yang Se Chan who reminded everyone at the venue of the sweetness of first love with their rendition of Reply 1997‘s original soundtrack “All for You”. The duet stages continued with Ji Suk Jin and Song Ji Hyo’s “Don’t Give”, originally performed by Loco and Mamamoo’s Hwasa. Closing the performances, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, and Yang Se Chan let out their hip-hop sides as they danced and rapped to “New Thing”, Zico’s viral song from Street Man Fighter.

The members then took a moment to deliver their heartfelt messages to Filipino Runners, expressing their joy to have had the chance to meet Filipino Runners and promising to come back. And gratitude goes both ways. Filipino Runners prepared a special video message to the people who comforted them and made them happy even in the most difficult of times. It was an emotional and beautiful moment shared by everyone at the arena.

WE WAITED FOR SO LONG, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. BECAUSE NOW WE CAN TELL YOU, THAT APART FROM A DECADE OF LAUGHTER, YOU’VE GIVEN US SO MUCH MORE. WE WILL KEEP ON RUNNING WITH YOU. MARAMING SALAMAT, RUNNING MAN.

    FILIPINO RUNNERS

Before officially saying their goodbyes, the members performed Kim Jong Kook’s “Loveable”, Running Man theme song “I Like It”, RGP’s “Busan Vacance”, and Yoo San Seul’s “Redevelopment of Love”.

RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER 2023 IN MANILA ended with heartfelt gratitude and promises of meeting again. It was truly a realization of a dream, a memory that will be treasured for a lifetime, a story that will be written filled with moments of happiness and appreciation, and a promise to keep running together.

  • Worth the Wait: WayVโ€™s Phantom Fan Meeting Completes Manila Stop

Worth the Wait: WayVโ€™s Phantom Fan Meeting Completes Manila Stop

    Promised kept. WayV came back.

Five months ago, WayV first stepped foot at The Big Dome for the I Pop U festival. It was quite an emotional event for the Weishennie fandom as a few days prior, SM Entertainment announced Ten and Winwinโ€™s withdrawal from participation due to health reasons. The four members who flew in apologized for being unable to perform and shared heartfelt promises of returning at a better time.

And on March 26, WayV finally made good on that promise, bringing the 2023 WayV Fanmeeting Tour [Phantom] to Manila. Excited Weishennies lined up early at the gates of Araneta Coliseum donning white, red, and, black themed outfits, some even wearing masks inspired by the fan meeting’s theme – Phantom. The night took off with back-to-back bangers “Kick Back” and “Try My Luck”, followed by the group introduction.

Hendery was the star of the sole game segment, opening his personal luggage for โ€œWhatโ€™s In My Bag.โ€ Each item in his carrier bore a backstory, and he was quick to spin tales with items embedded to inject Filipino elements, like an abaniko and a Good Morning towel.

The game was designed to show a relatable side to Hendery, but as he unpacked, we learned about everyone else too. He brings nail clippers gifted to him by Yangyangโ€™s mother, who Yangyang then proudly shared was also in attendance. Printed photos had them reminiscing about their time in the country last year, like dining on a boat and boarding a Vikings ride. They recalled fans screaming at them on the ride and checked if the same fans were in the audience. First-timer Ten mentioned a liking for polvoron and an interest in visiting Palawan, while Kun unintentionally spoiled possible Manila content by pointing out that they headed to Intramuros earlier in the day.

The group performed nine of their originals, including their latest single “Phantom”, and uber-sexy hits “Love Talk” and “Nectar”. A short cover medley included aespaโ€™s “Illusion”, NCT Dreamโ€™s “Candy“, and SHINeeโ€™s “Sherlock”. They made full use of the outfit-change breaks to share a glimpse of songs that didnโ€™t make the setlist. Kun and Xiaojun sang single verses of “Back To You”, “Sleepless”, and “After Midnight”. Meanwhile, Ten, Yangyang, and Hendery performed a snippet of fan-favorite “Low Low”, with the crowd supplying most of the lines.

The setlist was no surprise as there was little to no deviation from previous stops, but the joy of witnessing these songs live was euphoric.

A fan meeting is only as interesting as the artistsโ€™ personalities, and it’s only fun for the audience if the artists themselves are having fun onstage. The WayV fan meeting became memorable not only because of the boys’ talent but also their banter. The strength of their bond was reflected in how smoothly the show ran with the members carrying it entirely as their own guests, hosts, and hype men.

WayV delivered a great time with just nine songs and a modest production. It would be interesting to see what a full-scale production would unleash. Perhaps thatโ€™s what fans can look forward to.

  • Astro’s MoonBin and Sanha Make Manila Happy With Their Unique Scent

Astro’s MoonBin and Sanha Make Manila Happy With Their Unique Scent

Astroโ€™s Moon Bin and Sanhaโ€™s exciting, unique scent lingered in Manila after their Diffusion in Manila fan con.

MoonBin and Sanha debuted on the Manila stage as a subunit last March 25, 2023. The last time they were in Manila was with the full group in 2016. For Diffusion in Manila, a lot of activities were in store for Arohas to enjoy: from fellow Arohas giving out freebies to multiple fan projects to make the day an extra special one.

After all, MoonBin and Sanha were the next to visit Manilaโ€™s shores after Cha Eun Woo had his fan meeting last October 2019 and August 2022.

    Diffusion in Manila Fan Projects

There were a lot of fan projects that were executed: MoonBin and Sanha were presented with flower bouquets and cakes in their waiting room. Their waiting room also had wall decorations as well as post-its of Arohas messages to them and cute photo booth props.

For Arohas, the New Frontier Theater lobby was decorated with life-size standees, tarpaulin banners, a balloon arch with an Instagram frame, and the MoonBin and Sanha logo. And before the fan con date, another fan project was a ticket giveaway.

Some attendees were able to enter the venue for sound check, which was a fan benefit for some of the ticket tiers. Once they were seated inside, anticipation and excitement could be felt.

Diffusion in Manila: Sound Check Fan Benefit

MoonBin and Sanha came on stage for sound check: Sanha in black and Moon Bin in a soft blue outfit. The theater erupted in screams.

They were so surprised and happy at how excited and warm the fans were. The energy was high with fans chanting and singing loud to “Chup Chup”, “Dream Catcher”, and “All I Wanna Do”.

Other fan benefits included a meet and greet, a group photo opportunity, a special Manila unit photocard, and an individual photocard as well as a signed album. Some benefits were won by raffle.

Astroโ€™s Subunit MoonBin and Sanhaโ€™s Manila Debut

Finally, at 6 p.m., it was time for Moon Bin and Sanha to take the stage. As the lights turned off and the opening VCR began, the theater filled with screams and turned into a purple galaxy with Arohas waving their phones and robongs in the air.

The stage turned red and was filled with smoke and then two silhouettes appeared. The screaming only got louder. MoonBin and Sanha opened their Manila fan con with โ€œWHOโ€, โ€œBad Ideaโ€ and โ€œDIAโ€.

After officially introducing themselves, they even greeted the crowd with โ€œMabuhay!โ€

MoonBin and Sanhaโ€™s solo stages for Diffusion in Manila

After the second VCR was shown, the stage focused on Sanha as he performed solo with a mashup of “Distance” and “Wish”.

He sat on the stage with a spotlight on him and his guitar. As he sang, a collage of the six Astro members filled on screen. It was both a beautiful and a very emotional time for Arohas.

After Sanhaโ€™s heartwarming performance, it was MoonBinโ€™s turn for his solo performance of “Perfumer” and “Desire”. It was a roller coaster of emotions: from Sanhaโ€™s heart-tugging serenade to MoonBinโ€™s sultry performance.

The Diffusion in Manila Aroha Talk Segment

Since it was a fan con, there was also a segment for games and activities which they called Aroha talk.

MoonBin and Sanha saying Filipino phrases

Sam Oh hosted this fun segment and even asked Moon Bin and Sanha to say Filipino phrases such as:

    • Ang init – Itโ€™s hot
    • Charot – Just kidding
    • Mahal ko kayo – I love you

    Music quiz

The first activity was for them to identify songs as these songs played all at the same time. If they werenโ€™t able to identify all the songs, there would be a penalty, which was to dance. They could even enlist the help of Arohas in the audience to help them identify songs, which they did. Another game they played was a drawing quiz.

They danced to New Jeanโ€™s “OMG”, BSSโ€™s “Fighting”, Hoang Thuy Linhโ€™s “See Tinh”, and BLACKPINKโ€™s “Pink Venom”.

With the sense of smell being the highlight of their 3rd mini album and first fan con, the venue was also diffused with a fragrant aroma as they performed โ€œMadnessโ€, their latest title track from their Incense album.

Another VCR showed on the screen as the boys changed outfits signaling that it was time for more performances. The boys came out in cute outfits and performed โ€œChup Chupโ€, โ€œAloneโ€, and โ€œDream Catcherโ€.

But the show wasnโ€™t over yet as the best part was yet to come: the encore. They played an instrumental version of โ€œBooโ€ as lyrics flashed on-screen encouraging fans to sing along while waiting for the encore.

    Diffusion in Manila Encore

The encore began with โ€œAll I Wanna Doโ€ and the boys took fans by surprise as they went down to the aisles to serenade them.

Once they were back on stage, they proceeded to talk but then it was Arohasโ€™ turn to surprise them with the fan video. MoonBin and Sanha looked so touched and happy as they watched the video.

But the surprise wasnโ€™t over as an instrumental version of “Dream Catcher” filled the theater and Arohas united to serenade MoonBin and Sanha.

Before the final song of the night, MoonBin instructed Arohas to sing different octaves of the intro of โ€œYour Dayโ€. They even gave out signed plastic balls to Arohas. Fan interactions like these give extra special memories for fans to look back on.

The upbeat and energetic song, โ€œYour Dayโ€ was a great closing encore song to which they kept singing a few more times with Sanha even saying, โ€œDonโ€™t forget we will always be together!โ€ before launching into one more chorus of the song with confetti blasting to the audience area.

Ending on that high note, MoonBin, and Sanhaโ€™s unique performance scent would linger on, sparking joyful memories for Arohas to look back on.

  • A Lucky Day with SHINee’s Choi Minho in Manila

A Lucky Day with SHINee’s Choi Minho in Manila

The MOA Arena lit up in pearl aqua green last Saturday as Choi Minho returned to the Philippine concert stage!

SHINee’s Choi Minho made January 28 the luckiest day for Philippine Shawols with the staging of his first solo fan meeting in the country, 2023 BEST CHOIโ€™s MINHO LUCKY CHOIโ€™s IN MANILA, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Presented by Ovation Productions, the fan meeting event saw the singer-actor welcomed by colors of pearl aqua green on the very stage that last witnessed SHINee perform on the Philippine concert stage. Loud cheers enveloped the venue even before the official start of the event. The excitement heightened when the man of the hour came out, performing “Heartbreak” from his first solo album, Chase.

“Long time no see! SHINee’s Minho,” he greeted Philippine Shawols and added that he is happy to kick off his fan meeting tour in Manila and meet his local fans once again after so many years. 2023 BEST CHOIโ€™s MINHO LUCKY CHOIโ€™s fan meeting tour also included stops in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan.

Did you wait for a long time? Did you miss me? I miss you too so much!

    Minho during his ment

Minho gamely interacted with fans and allowed them to get to know him better through the various segment prepared during the fan meeting. Indeed a lucky day for Philippine Shawols as a number of fans got to play games with their idol and win special prizes.

The crowd also witnessed him look handsome wearing a crown and a barong, a traditional Filipino clothing. The singer-actor remarked that it was his first time wearing barong and that he felt honored to be given such a chance. “This is meaningful to me,” he said. Completing his immersion into Filipino culture, he danced pandanggo, a Filipino folk dance.

I think I am the luckiest and the happiest when I get to go far distances to meet the people I love like you.

MINHO on when he feels the luckiest

The Fabulous actor also tried his hand at channeling the characters of Jang Uk from the Alchemy of Souls and Captain Yoo Si Jin from the Descendants of the Sun. He reenacted scenes from the dramas while in costumeโ€”much to the delight of the audience.

Minho then answered questions and took on challenges using song titles from his album Chase as keywords. The “Heartbreak” keyword got him doing a Philippine version of the choreography, with him settling with an adorable heart sign. For the next keyword, “Choice”, the SHINee member planned his tour choice for Philippine Shawols who will come to South Korea. He recommended going to Kwangya, a virtual world introduced by SM Entertainment as part of the SM Culture Universe, eating kimbap and samgyeopsal, and taking the trending four-cut photo.

Next up, for the keyword “Chase”, the singer-actor joined the dati-dati challenge which calls for dancing to Sarah Geronimo’s “Dati-Dati”. With one look into the choreography, he effortlessly completed the challengeโ€”not once, but twice!

Truly in for the luckiest of nights, Shawols got a treat of live performances of “Runaway” and “Chase”. And preparing so much more for his fans, Minho took over the Philippine concert stage with a medley of SHINee’s songs which included “Atlantis” and “Don’t Call Me”. The thirst for a SHINee concert in the Philippines was evident even more as the cheers went louder and louder.

But Minho got you, Shawols! Before the fan meeting ended, the SHINee member said “Okay, I got it!” in response to the fans’ request, “We want SHINee World Concert VI in the Philippines!” Although the K-Pop group has visited the Philippines a couple of times, they have yet to hold a solo concert in the country. Keeping our fingers crossed that this wish becomes reality soon.

Minho ended his first solo fan meeting in Manila with “I’m Home” and a grateful heart to fans who patiently waited for his return. He promised to continue giving his best and meet Shawols once again with Onew, Key, and Taemin.

  • Ohm and Nanon Gift Ronans with Delightful Fan Meeting Memories

Ohm and Nanon Gift Ronans with Delightful Fan Meeting Memories

Ohm-Nanon 1st Fan Meeting in Manila: An OHM-mazing evening with fans from the BL couple as sweet as ci-NANON

The Thai hype is officially coming to the Philippines as one of Thailandโ€™s most in-demand and beloved BL duo, Ohm Pawat and Nanon Korapat or coupled popularly as OHM-NANON has taken over Manila as they held their first fan meet in the country! The two 22-year-old Thai actors who are widely known for their drama Bad Buddy which is featured in Teen Vogueโ€™s โ€˜Best BL Dramas of 2022โ€™ finally met their Filipino fans or also known as RONANS. The fans are so dedicated and eager to meet the heartthrobs that fans claimed they were already at the venue as early as 6 a.m.!

CDM Entertainment held together a wholesome fan meet as fans got perks and intimate interactions with the duo last January 21, 2023, in Samsung Hall SM Aura Premier. The night went on with a playful exchange between the duo and the RONANs, as they all tried to claim who loves who the most the whole evening.

    Getting Comfortable

The pair sang เธ„เธดเธ”(เนเธ•เนˆเน„เธกเนˆ)เธ–เธถเธ‡ (Same Page?) by Tilly Birds, OST from their drama Bad Buddy before formally saying hello to the RONANS. Nanon said it was an honor to be in the Philippines and was even speechless during the introduction because of the overwhelming screams of love from the fans. To solidify their love towards the duo, Filipino RONANs gave Ohm-Nanon a pair of Barong Tagalogs, colored green and red themed, with OHM and NNN embroidered at the back of each piece of clothing.

A small fireside chat took place and the host tackled the topic of their journey as actors and touched base on Nanonโ€™s future projects first. She asked how the star feels about having two different projects in the upcoming year. โ€œItโ€™s an honor (for me)โ€ฆ and I feel good because I have a jobโ€ฆ I have work!โ€ he enthused. He talked about the new characters heโ€™s about to play and how the age dynamics of each is a challenge heโ€™s ready to take.

In topics of projects, Ohmโ€™s ongoing drama โ€˜10 Years Ticketโ€™ was also discussed. The host asked what important lessons Ohm took from his character Pukao. โ€œI think I am similar to Pukao in a way where I am serious and in focusโ€ฆ but at times, I am also fun.โ€ he loosely explained.

โ€œThis is one the first few memories I have this year,โ€ Ohm said when he was asked what is the most memorable part of the tour so far, having toured around as a duo. โ€œWeโ€™re really happy to see you guys today! So we thank you everyone for coming in today!โ€

    Fun-meet

As all fan meets go, itโ€™s never complete if there arenโ€™t any games to play and show the playful side of our idols and itโ€™s not an exception with Ohm and Nanon. Throughout the night, a series of games ensued to showcase both the competitiveness and team spirit of the beloved BL couple. The duad was asked if they were competitive or not and Ohm answered that he was a little competitive and Nanon leaned towards being a chill competitor.

The first game was arm wrestling, a test of strength, in which Ohm playfully opened that he feels confident because he ate three meals that day, in contrast with Nanon who only ate one meal.

A quiet intense few minutes took place on who was the strongest but Nanon showed that he was stronger that day, beating Ohm in the first round. He commended his BL partner for his strength, bringing extra kilig to the fans.

The second game is to test their strategizing skills and the game is to make origami paper planes. Whoever sends the planes the farthest to the audience wins. Ohmโ€™s strategy is to make the plane elongated and Nanon didnโ€™t have any particular strategy in mind and stayed a go-with-the-flow kind of guy.

As a result, Ohm won the game, beating Nanon by just a row distance, making the score 1:1 even.

The next game against each other is for each of the duo to not spill the confetti from the colored cups while carrying it across the stage in the palm of their hands. The two got a little competitive here and both did not spill any confetti but Ohm beat Nanon by two seconds, making it a 2:1 score.

Before proceeding to more fun games in the night, the actors sang a solo each and took the stage, charming the fans. Ohm sang his solo เนเธ„เนˆเธ„เธดเธ”เธเน‡เธœเธดเธ”เนเธฅเน‰เธง (Unlovable), a newly released song for the 10 Years Ticket the actor stars in, and Nanon sang เนเธ„เนˆเน€เธžเธทเนˆเธญเธ™เธกเธฑเน‰เธ‡ (Just Friend?) another OST for the Bad Buddy series.

    Good Buddy, Bad Buddy

The next part is where the duo got a little closer to the Filipino fans as they teamed up to test their knowledge of Filipino culture and their bond with the RONANs. A series of questions with choices were given and they can use the โ€˜Ask The Audienceโ€™ card if they are not sure about the answers. The fans are extremely enthusiastic about helping the two boys with all the questions when they needed help and the host called for help from the audience three times.

A wonderful surprise that happened was when they asked for help from the audience for the third time from a fan who had a unique flag and turns out to be a Thai fan, who came from Thailand to meet the boys. Only goes to show that Ohm and Nanon are incredibly loved and that crossing oceans is a small thing. In this portion, the duo also got a chance to eat Filipino street food kwek kwek, sang English songs requested by the fans, celebrated late and advanced birthdays by singing birthday songs with the audience as parts of a dare, and got into more banter as the fans endlessly screamed their love for Ohm and Nanon.

The last part of the games for the night is called Bad Buddy wherein they will need to distract each other from finishing a task in a timed manner. Nanon went on first and finished the tasks as he stacked the red plastic cups and unstacked them in 28 seconds, even with Ohm blowing a loud horn in his ears. Ohm confidently said that he can finish the same task faster than Nanon but unfortunately, the relaxed and chill competitor had other plans. Using bubbles and blowing air onto the cups and making them topple down, Ohm was not able to finish the task faster than promised and lost to his partner while laughing throughout, not expecting the strategy Nanon did.

Fan Project for Ohm and Nanon

The Filipino RONANs did not want to end the night without showing the BL couple the fan-made video they prepared. A heartfelt song cover accompanied a series of clips on the two boys, fan-made letters, and artworks showed on the screen as the two sat down and watched intently. The boys returned this love to the fans by taking a picture with the crowd, as a remembrance of the special night they spent with their dedicated RONANSs in the Philippines.

The two went on and thanked the fans one last time and promises to return as soon as they can as they pointed out that the energy of the Filipino fans is unwavering and incredible throughout the night, making them feel welcome.

The night ended with the VIP and MVIP ticket holders with the perks of meeting them on stage and giving high fives or shaking hands with the two. The talented Ohm and Nanon smiled and thanked each fan, looking them in the eye as they pass, sealing that connection that was already rooted in the TV series and acting projects that brought together both fans and the pair. Albeit the interactions only lasted a few seconds for each fan, the happiness was evident and a blast of euphoria and/or disbelief of meeting the people who inspire them took over the venue even towards the end of the night. It is not a common occurrence to meet someone you admire up close, much less give them a high five and for the duo to do this for the fans only proves that the love the RONANs are giving isnโ€™t one-sided.

  • Smiles Bloom in Kim Seon Hoโ€™s 1st Manila Fan Meeting

Smiles Bloom in Kim Seon Hoโ€™s 1st Manila Fan Meeting

Itโ€™s a good day well-spent with the Good Boy!

For the first time, with full-house Mall of Asia Arena, Kim Seon Ho greeted his Philippine Seonhohadas in the 2023 KIM SEON HO ASIA TOUR <ONE, TWO, THREE. SMILE>ย in Manila last January 22.

    Kim Seon Ho

The Start-Up and Hometown Cha Cha Cha actor opened the highly awaited fan meet with Paul Kim’s “Every Day, Every Moment,” which reaffirmed that it is his time to stand by the side of his admirers, who had waited to meet him for years. He conveyed his comfort in being with everyone and his gratitude for the audience’s persistent support.

โ€œI feel how warm you are and I feel very comfortable being with all of you. I can feel your warm passion even now, that is why, I made a promise to myself that I would be very passionate tonight โ€“spending this night with all of you,โ€ he said. He added, โ€œI feel that you really love me right now. There is one thing I want to say to all of you: thank you so much for always being with me during the hard times and the good times. You are always there supporting me.โ€

As Kim Seon Ho reciprocated the support by working tirelessly to provide the fans with the best fan meeting experience, Seonhohadas showered the man of the hour with resounding cheers and heartfelt comments.

Special Moments with Kim Seon Ho: Fun Games and Getting-to-Know

Always game and ready to give his all, Kim Seon Ho allowed his fans to get to know him more and play games with him through the different segments he sincerely prepared for his supporters. He reenacted scenes from his dramas Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Start-Up, and Catch the Ghost with fans in the segment “Seon Ho’s Drama Talk”. Impressed by the acting skills of the lucky fans who joined him on stage, he shared that he felt nervous because they are better actors than him.

Meanwhile, the segment “Seon Ho Learning Tagalog” saw the actor learn the Filipino phrases, “Manigong bagong taon“, “Masaya akong makita kayo“, and “Pusuan/pinusuan kita“. In the segment, “Best No. 1 is (Filipino food edition)”, it was time for the fans to know him more through his choices among the Filipino foods presented on screen. His favorite Filipino food went to pancit because it reminded him of japchae, while bibingka took the crown as his favorite Filipino dessert.

“Actually, I don’t speak Tagalog, but I was looking forward to talking to all of my fans, and I love foods, so that’s why I am looking forward to all these Filipino foods,” he said.

But the fun never stopped because Kim Seon Ho made sure that fans will take home the best memories of the night through games. Chosen fans played the “staring game” and “one-legged balance” with him. Ever-considerate and sweet, the actor requested that all participating fans will get a prize despite failing the challenge. *heart eyes*

The next segment, “Team Game with Seon Ho”, tested his stamina with a relay game composed of catching a ball, jumping rope, and sipa which he did with the fans. Despite the energy-consuming game, the actor never wavered in keeping his smile and assuring fans. He was too adorable as he tried to catch his breath in between the teams. And the challenges continue in the segment, “Seon Ho Will Do It”, where he took on various challenge games such as balancing a soda can, shooting a basketball, and sipa. He awed everyone with his quick success in the first challenge. However, he failed to make a basket in the second one and do five sipa in the third one, earning him penalties โ€” penalties that every fan loves: posing for photos, recording a morning call, and posing three aegyo poses.

Truly the good boy, Kim Seon Ho prepared a special gift for a lucky fan to have โ€”a customized cap! He personally drew different images with much care and love and signed the cap.

Before bidding goodbye to his Philippine Seonhohadas, the actor serenaded them with “Reason“, his first single and a song he collaborated with Epitone Project in 2021. “I wanted to communicate and be with my fans more. If there is something lacking, I hope you understand. I will forever treasure our special day in my heart, and I hope, as you go home today, this was a great memory you can bring back home,” he said.

Bawat araw, bawat sandali with Kim Seon Ho

And the special memories continued to be created, as Philippine Seonhohadas make sure that their beloved actor returns home with a warm and happy heart through a special video and banner project they prepared.

Kasama mo kami sa bawat araw, bawat sandali.

    PHILIPPINE SEONHOHADAs

He reciprocated the love with appreciation and a promise to see each other again. “Because of you, I can stand as an actor. I will always be grateful, and I love you! And I promise you that I’ll be back with more projects in the future as a better actor. I hope you are happy. Thank you!”

Turning emotional after watching the fan project, Kim Seon Ho said, “There were a lot of touching messages in the video, but I like that you promised me that even in the hard times, you will be there for me. I also promise to be a good actor and person and to be here all the time for you. Thank you, and I love you all!”

With smiles on everyone’s faces all throughout the night, January 22 was indeed a memory to treasure dearly in our hearts. The 2023 KIM SEON HO ASIA TOUR <ONE, TWO, THREE. SMILE>ย in Manila was a testament to a promise kept by Kim Seon Ho and Philippine Seonhohadasโ€” through thick and thin, through the strongest storms and the brightest of days, bawat araw, bawat sandali โ€” “We will always prefer you.”

Our favorite Good Boy has been acting since 2009, starting with theater plays and progressing to television and films in the latter years. Some of his notable roles on TV include Jung Jae-yoon in 100 Days My Prince, Cha Woo-sik in Welcome to Waikiki 2, Han Ji-pyeong in Start-Up, and Hong Du-sik in Hometown Cha Cha Cha. In addition, he also won our hearts over and over again with his irresistible charms in 2 Days & 1 Night.

And the fan meeting this January 22 will allow us to get to know him more through various segments and performances. Get ready to be smitten even more by the one and only Kim Seon Ho!

#2 Manila is the first stop!

Philippine Seonho-hada, raise the flag! Manila will mark the first stop of his Asia tour. Following his Seoul fan meeting in December, the actor will greet his Filipino fans first before any other Asian cities through this fan meeting. Moreover, a full-house MOA Arena will welcome him!

Dubbed โ€œOhmNanon,โ€ the duo became famous as Pat and Pran in the widely talked about BL drama, โ€œBad Buddy.โ€ The two played neighbors turned enemies turned lovers. Think Romeo and Juliet with the star-crossed lovers trope but peppered with funny and tender moments to really reel you in.

It was only a matter of time before the drama took off in the international scene. One year after the series ended, the two are currently on an Asian tour, proving their lasting popularity. They have held fan meets in South Korea and Taiwan with Manila’s turn happening in just a few weeks. It wouldnโ€™t be their first time visiting the country, however. Ohm and Nanon have both been to Manila, though at different times. Ohm came in 2017 for a fan meet while Nanon attended the Asian Television Awards back in 2020 and most recently, in December of 2022.

After years of waiting, fans finally have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to catch them together at Ohm-Nanon 1st Fan Meeting in Manila.

Prices start at PHP4,000 with MVP priced at PHP17,500. Special perks also await fans like a private photo op, group photo op, hi-touch, and an official poster. Tickets are available via SM Tickets.
