  • Hwang In Youp Spends Delightful Time with HIYLIYs in His 1st Manila Fan Meeting

Hwang In Youp Spends Delightful Time with HIYLIYs in His 1st Manila Fan Meeting

Hwang In Youp comes home, gifting Filipino HIYLIYs with the sweetest memories.

South Korean model-actor Hwang In Youp made his way back to the Philippines and spent a delightful time with his Filipino fans last September 24 at the New Frontier Theater.

Welcomed by the loud cheers of HIYLIYs, the actor opened his first official fan meeting in the country, the 2022 HWANG IN YOUP 1ST FAN MEETING IN MANILA, with “Starlight”, an official soundtrack from the drama True Beauty. He then greeted the audience with his sweetest smile as he says, “Mabuhay, Philippines! Ako po si Hwang In Youp.”

After the sweet serenade and hello, he sat down to share his thoughts about coming back to the country and his undeniable love for halo-halo. According to him, he had halo-halo at a local fast food chain in the mall near his hotel. But still, he did not let the chance pass to eat the desert he obviously enjoyed on stage.

But the fun only started, because the next segment, Hwang Quiz, tested the actor’s (and everyone’s) knowledge of Philippine history. For his HIYLIYs to get a signed polaroid, he needed to answer the questions correctly — which he successfully did! Randomly chosen lucky fans took home a signed polaroid as a result of his effort.

Sharing more about himself in the IY Q&A segment, he revealed his plan to make a secret trip to Davao this year. He added that every time he comes to the Philippines, he feels like he is visiting his hometown. The actor also showed off his love and appreciation to his fans, saying that just being with them for a long time is already the greatest gift.

He also talked about modeling, sharing some of his know-how in posing such as focusing on the eyes and doing laid-back or cozy poses — even giving the crowd a live sample of his poses. The actor also shared his thoughts about his first variety show, Young Actors’ Retreat or Youth MT, which features cast members of director Kim Seong Yoon’s previous dramas including Sound of Magic which starred Hwang In Youp.

Hwang In Youp said that the Hwang in Youp they see on the show is his actual self. He admitted to being worried about fans’ reaction to witnessing his actual self. But fans at the fan meeting assured him that they love all his moments in Youth MT.

With Manila as the final stop of his first fan meeting tour, he said it will also be nice if the fans can come to Korea to spend time with him, have fun together, and eat good food. And he showed what it looks like to spend time with him in the special vlog he prepared for the fan meeting where he went on a drive and eat delicious Korean food.

Making sure everyone comes home with the best memories of the evening, Hwang In Youp surprised everyone when he went around the venue to come closer to his Filipino HIYLIYs. We definitely fell deeper in love with his conscious effort to gift fans with the best fan meeting experience.

From Park Dan Ho to Gong Chan: A Look Back on the Many Roles of HIY

Coming back on stage, he looked back at his filmography through the Inyoup_Filmogram segment, starting with Park Dan Ho, his character in the 2019 historical drama Tale of Nokdu. According to him, he has to wear three layers of clothing for the role, but he remembered most how tight the ponytail was that he was losing a lot of hair. The drama served as the actor’s first historical drama. Given the chance to star in another historical drama, he expressed interest in playing the role of a king or a royalty as he remembered the Korean drama Princess Hours was popular in the Philippines during his stay here.

He then talked about his 18 Again character Goo Ja Sung, Serim High School’s basketball team captain. Asked about playing basketball, the actor said his friends in Davao taught him to play. Aside from the basketball skills, Goo Ja Sung became the talk of the town with his proposal song. And the audience became Hong Shi Ah for a night as Hwang In Youp serenades fans with the song he sang to confess in the drama.

With excited squeals from fans, everyone’s favorite Han Seo Jun showed up on the screen. Hwang In Youp’s True Beauty character stole everyone’s hearts in the drama with his tsundere personality and his loyal love for Lim Ju Kyung, giving everyone a second-lead syndrome.

And of course, when talking about Han Seo Jun, we cannot miss his iconic “Okey Dokey” dance in the drama which Hwang In Youp gamely reenacted for fans. In addition, he let Han Seo Jun posses him that evening as he utters “salamat sa inyong pagmamahaland we swooned.

Knowing that True Beauty received so much love from the Filipinos, the actor said he wondered if his friends in the Philippines also watched the show. According to him, his Filipino friends encouraged him to try acting once he returns to South Korea.

The year 2022 was also quite a busy year for Hwang In Youp. He starred in two dramas, The Sound of Magic and Why Her. Sharing his similarity with Na Il Deung from The Sound of Magic, he said he is interested in piano, drums, and the beatbox which his friends in Davao taught him.

Meanwhile, asked about his character in Why Her, Gong Chan, Hwang In Youp shared that the biggest reason he chose to take on the role is that it is different from the previous characters he played. In his portrayal of Gong Chan, he focused on the character’s pureness and kindness despite the wounds he suffered. Moreover, like Gong Chan, he is straightforward in expressing his affection to another person. He said he will tell her directly if he likes her.

For Hwang In Youp, the kiss scenes with Seo Hyun Jin and the beach scene are the most memorable. He added that all the scenes that fans like are memorable.

And always making sure that fans get the best memories, Hwang in Youp then engaged in fun and kilig games with lucky fans, including a starring game, clapping game, and arm wrestling. Originally set for only three fans, the actor requested one more game for one more lucky fan. Aside from the heartstopping moments, the lucky fans also took home a polaroid with the actor and his merchandise.

But the surprises are far from over because Hwang In Youp made a special gift for one lucky fan to take home — a personalized fan he designed on stage!

Hwang In Youp is not the only one with a surprise, because his Filipino HIYLIYs prepared a special fan project for him with the sweetest words of “Welcome home, among palangga” printed on the banner and touching words on the video read:

We are happy to see you are loved by many. You have worked hard to achieve this success and you have proven that you’re worthy of all the big things in life. From Gi Jae Yeong to Gong Chan and to more characters and roles that you will play in the future, we are here to support and love you. Your heart is worth 70 billion dollars and our love for you is more than that. You did well!

From Philippine HIYLIYs to Hwang In Youp

With a grateful heart, Hwang In Youp capped off his first fan meeting in Manila and his Asia fan meeting tour with a photo with fans and a performance of “I Mean It”, his original soundtrack from The Sound of Magic. The evening ended with everyone saying “see you again” to the actor in the hi-bye event.

Ever-charming and always generous, Hwang In Youp gave everyone that night more reasons to love him with his enthusiastic effort to give fans the best memories in his first Manila fan meeting and with his never-ceasing smile that lighted up the venue from the start to the very end.

  • A Starry Night with Cha Eun Woo

A Starry Night with Cha Eun Woo

A lasting, unforgettable starry night with Cha Eun Woo

Astro’s Cha Eun Woo left Manila starry-eyed after his 2022 Just One Ten Minute: Starry Caravan in Manila fan meeting at the Araneta Coliseum last August 6, 2022. The fan meeting marked his return to the Philippines following his first solo event in 2019.

From a venue with less than three thousand attendees to a packed coliseum, Cha Eun Woo’s growth has been incredible. He captured the hearts of many Filipinos from around the globe with his roles in True Beauty, Hit the Top, My ID is Gangnam Beauty, Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung, and Top Management.

Many are first drawn in by his looks, but his talent and personality turn them into fans. While many know him more as an actor, he debuted as a member of the talented KPop group Astro. Aside from his activities with Astro, he also displayed his vocal prowess thru the numerous OSTs for dramas he appeared in. He appeared in variety shows like Master in the House, Handsome Tigers, Law of the Jungle, and Astro’s pre-debut variety show called OK! Ready.

He has hosted award and music shows, and even garnered multiple awards both with his group Astro and as an actor. He has endorsed multiple brands and even became a brand ambassador for high-end brands like Dior and Burberry.

Cha Eun Woo is more than a pretty face. He’s kind, humble, smart, and an all-arounder. And it’s no wonder that he captured the support of many fans around the world, the Philippines being no exception.

A Starry Day with Cha Eun Woo: The Press Conference

On the day of the fan meeting, Filipinos from around the world, international Arohas, and fans flew in for Cha Eun Woo’s Just One Ten Minute: Starry Caravan in Manila.

A mix of media and lucky fans who won the raffle contest to attend the press conference came to meet the Astro member ahead of his fan meeting. While waiting for the fan meet to begin, Sam Oh kept fans entertained by playing a trivia game about Cha Eun Woo. She also interviewed those who flew in from Davao, Guam, and even Miami.

Moments before Cha Eun Woo entered, the anticipation inside the tent was palpable. Fans were at the edge of their seats, a mix of nervousness and excitement until finally Sam Oh announced that Cha Eun Woo had arrived. The fans went wild with excitement. And just like what everyone had said, he was handsome, but he also had a down-to-earth aura about him that made him more endearing.

His first message to everyone present was this. “Hello, guys. Long time no see. I missed you. How about you?”

Sam Oh then proceeded with the questions from the media. When asked about what memories from the Philippines he wants to recreate, he shared that when he was here, he used to go to a mall once a month and eat kebab.

He also said that when he comes to the Philippines, he’s nervous, happy, and excited to see his fans. He even mentioned that some fans were there at the airport to welcome him when he arrived the day before.

Another question was what was the most noticeable change, and he said that he thinks he’s the same. To this, the fans shouted “better!” to which he responded and agreed by saying that he learned a lot after his debut. He also shared that he doesn’t feel like he’s achieved that much yet and instead of learning something else, he’d rather get better at what he already does.

He was then asked about his new hobbies. As a person who loves sports, he said that he’d taken up golf and tennis over the last two years.

On what inspired him to write song lyrics, he said it’s the things he sees and experiences.

As for what fans could look forward to at the fan meeting, Cha Eun Woo shared that they tried their best to prepare a show where the fans will have fun and enjoy themselves.

His parting message was this, “Let’s have a great night tonight. Thank you for coming. Thank you for waiting for me. I love you! Mahal ko kayo.”

The press conference was short–ten minutes–a nod to the name of the fan meeting “Just One Ten Minute”. As the story goes, it only takes ten minutes for someone to fall in love with Cha Eun Woo. And in ten minutes, he did capture the attention of everyone in the room.

A Purple Galaxy at the Starry Caravan in Manila

A few hours later, fans were already at the Araneta Coliseum meeting up with each other, giving away and receiving Cha Eun Woo and Astro-related freebies such as albums, pins, photo cards, and notepads. Online friendships turned into real-life friendships.

Inside the venue, fans were taking their turn to take photos by the stage backdrop as Astro songs played in the background. Finally, the lights dimmed, the crowd screamed and the coliseum lit up in a purple galaxy of robongs as a short introduction video flashed on the screen.

And just like magic, Cha Eun Woo rose from behind the large LED screen on stage as the first few notes of “First Love” filled the coliseum. “Na-miss ko kayo!” He said before singing the first verse.

The coliseum was ringing with the crowd’s cheers and screams that Cha Eun Woo kept signaling to increase the volume from his earpiece, so he could hear the music. He sported his brilliant blue custom microphone and in-ear piece gifted to him by international fans.

Other Astro members also received custom microphones from fans, so it was a sweet gesture for him to bring his custom microphone on tour with him and a way to show his appreciation to his fans.

His live vocals were stable and sounded just like the recorded version. The song ended with him doing the signature L pose from the First Love choreography. He was amazed at how loud the crowd was and said, “Wow!”

After introducing himself, he teased the crowd by saying, “Did you guys miss me? Really? How much?” before proceeding to smile his signature eye smile.

Getting to Know Good Guy Cha

Sam Oh joined him on stage and then began the first segment of the show called “Fact Check” where she would read statements and Eun Woo would have to agree or disagree by holding up a placard: an O if he agreed or an X if he disagreed.

He was asked about various things from the type of gift-giver he was (he gives gifts that are useful), which seat on the plane he preferred (the aisle seat), and whether or not he’d wait in line for a really good restaurant (he’d rather go to a different restaurant), and how he’d react to encountering a person he doesn’t remember but says hi to him (he will say hi and not let that person know that he doesn’t remember).

He also shared that he liked Philippine mangoes and mangosteen, and his secret was to look fresh after a flight (he said there’s no particular thing and that he just does what he wants).

He also shared his airplane routine which was to get comfy by wearing slippers, a blanket, his Airpods, and requesting a sleeping mask from the staff, which most likely means he naps on the plane.

He was also asked what he’d like people to remember him by and he said he wanted to be remembered as a good boy. This reminds me of a nickname fans have given him: Good Guy Cha.

But what made fans scream loud was when he was asked to give a message to them. He said the crowd had a lot of energy. “You guys are super hot,” he quipped and the crowd went wild.

After “Fact Check”, the next segment was “5 Minutes Straight” where Eun Woo introduced what he called the main work of Actor Cha Eun Woo and reenacted scenes from each drama.

The first was his first lead role in My ID is Gangnam Beauty. He was asked to reenact the scene where he confessed to Kang Mi-rae. Though he admitted he was a bit embarrassed to do so, he still reenacted it and acted shy afterwards.

He introduced his drama Top Management and mentioned that his character there was similar to him as well as his thoughts when filming the music video for that drama.

Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung was next. After sharing more about his role in the drama, he was asked to say his lines: the comforting words to Goo Hae-ryung when she was crying.

Last but not least was True Beauty–a crowd favorite–where he reenacted his character Lee Suho getting drunk for the first time. Aside from that, he sang the famous “Ottoke” song twice–the second time with the fans singing along.

Ather the “5 Minutes Straight” segment, Cha Eun Woo proceeded to sing “Don’t Cry My Love.” There was a short break in between where he changed outfits and then came back out and serenaded the crowd with “Focus On Me”.

The next segment consisted of him sculpting himself using clay after choosing a photo from six options. As he focused intently on his sculpture, Sam Oh would ask him questions like if he was the type of person who didn’t like others to touch his hair as well as which was his favorite part of his face.

He asked the crowd which was their favorite. “My eyes? Nose? Lips?” The crowd screamed loudly at this last option. “Why lips?” He asked twice before blowing a flying kiss and making everyone scream even louder.

When he was finished with the sculpture, Sam Oh asked him to pose with it and show the crowd the cool Eun Woo, the handsome Eun Woo, the sexy Eun Woo, and the fatal Eun Woo to which he did a lip swipe.

From Cha Eun Woo to Arohas: Mahal ko kayo

“I’m happy that we are together,” Cha Eun Woo said before Sam Oh proceeded to tell the crowd that the fan meeting was nearing its end. He pouted at this, signaling that he didn’t want it to end as well, and gave a parting message. He said he was really happy to see his fans and for them not to be sad. “Mahal ko kayo.”

“Do you guys want to see me often?” He asked as the crowd screamed loud. “Then I’ll come often.” He then proceeded to perform his next song, a mash-up of two Shawn Mendes songs.

The lights dimmed and the crowd was a galaxy of purple as they began to chant his real name, “Lee Dong-min! Lee Dong-min! Lee Dong-min!” He sat on the piano and played the intro of “When You’re Gone.” When the beat changed to a faster one, he stood up and sang “Hold On” and the lights went off again.

For his encore, Cha Eun Woo rose from the LED screen on stage carrying a basket of roses as he sang “Aloha”. After singing the first verse, he stood up and went to the crowd to give the roses to his fans. The next song was another OST, but this time from True Beauty, which was “Love So Fine”.

Before the hi-hello session after the program, Eun Woo took a photo with the crowd and a heartwarming video Filipino fans made for him flashed on screen showcasing his various sides as an actor, idol, host, and variety show member as well as photos of fans with their messages for him.

He sat on stage watching in awe, appreciation, and love and he even grinned while watching the fan project. “Every time I come to the Philippines I always get a lot of gifts from you guys. I was very touched. Thank you so much for these unforgettable memories.” And for many Arohas, the fan meeting was a lasting, unforgettable memory of that starry night with their first love Cha Eun Woo.

The Hammingtons Take Fans to a Fun Sunday Trip to Juanderland

    Words by Danica Lacson

July 17 was indeed a family fun day with The Hammingtons!

Sam, William, and Bentley Hammington gave Filipino fans a Sunday full of laughter and cuteness in The Hammingtons in Juanderland fan meeting at the New Frontier Theater last July 17.

Prior to the fan meeting, the father-and-son trio met the members of the press during the media conference where they talked about coming to the Philippines and meeting their local fans and Return of the Superman. William and Bentley also shared their dreams and K-Pop idols they want to feature on their show.

Meanwhile, Sam opened up about being a parent and gave wise advice on parenting. According to him, parents need to find out what works best for each child as what works for one may not work for the other. “It’s a learning experience. No one is perfect at raising children,” he said. He added that parents can learn from mistakes. “Just roll with it,” he said. Sam also shared that they have been trying for another child.

The Hammingtons relayed their wish to meet more fans once the situation gets better and the pandemic is over. And fast forward to Sunday, the well-loved family got to meet their Filipino fans who are equally excited to spend the weekend with Sam, William, and Bentley.

A trip to Juanderland with Sam, William, and Bentley!

The Hammingtons in Juanderland became a true trip to “Juanderland” as the family immersed themselves in the Filipino culture where they got to wear traditional clothing, learn Filipino words like “Mahal ko kayo“, “makulit ako“, and “pogi“, and eat local snacks and food including adobo, champorado, and lechon.

The boys put their competitive spirit up with games of air hockey and paper dance.

Sam was filled with gratitude at the immense display of love from Filipino fans. The father of William and Bentley was emotional as he thanked the crowd at the end of the fan meeting. “Thank you to each and every one of you,” he said.

The Hammingtons in Juanderland filled the hearts of everyone with fond memories with a tinge of nostalgia as it allowed us to take part in another memory for Sam, William, and Bentley whom we saw grow and grow up.

A Beautiful Day with Ro Woon and Globe’s Kmmunity PH

Words and photos by Danica Lacson

Truly a k-ganda ng araw-araw with Ro Woon and Kmmunity PH!

June 26 became extra special for fans of South Korean singer-actor Ro Woon with Globe’s RO WOON LIVE IN MANILA: A Kmmunity Exclusive Fan Meet at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. It was a beautiful gathering filled with unforgettable memories that will make every day k-ganda from now on.

Fans of the SF9 member flocked to the SM Mall of Asia Arena and brought their excited spirits even hours before the official start of the event, enjoying the booths set up inside the venue and a mini meet-and-greet with Little Happee.

The exclusive fan meet marked Ro Woon’s first solo event in the Philippines and his third visit to the country. He previously performed with SF9 in 2018 for Be My Fantasy and in 2019 for Unixerse.

Three years after his last Manila show, the singer-actor returned with graciousness and vibrance thanks to the warm and love-filled welcome of thousands of his Filipino fans who filled the SM Mall of Asia Arena and screamed loud for him as he took the stage.

Ro Woon said he was surprised by the huge crowd, adding that he did not expect that a lot of fans will come to meet him. “Thank you very much,” he said. And the love was well-deserved as the singer-actor gamely took on every segment and game during the fan meeting!

He immersed himself in everything Filipino, learning Filipino sentences like “Nakakakaba naman ang chika mo, beshie.” and “Sa Globe Kmmunity, k-ganda ng araw-araw!“. He also ate Filipino snacks like turon, puto bumbong, and his favorite taho.

A definite highlight of the night: Ro Woon in barong Tagalog! The SF9 member and Tomorrow actor completed his Filipino culture immersion by donning traditional Filipino clothing. According to him, barong suits the hot weather in the Philippines because it is see-through.

Meanwhile, Filipino game sipa got his competitive spirit up that he had to do the challenge twice. The result: sipa-2, Ro Woon-0. But the effort is definitely commendable, Ro Woon!

    https://twitter.com/philconcerts/status/1541002206736191488

Although sipa and Ro Woon failed to exhibit the best teamwork, the singer-actor found his best teammates to play Pinoy Henyo with — the MOA arena crowd! Thanks to his fans, he navigated the questions with breeze (while cutely pretending that no coaching was happening).

Aside from fun memories, the fan meeting attendees also took home the best life advice from their idol. The singer-actor shared his positive outlook on failures and struggles. According to him, he finds more meaning in failures than success as failures allow you to appreciate your success more.

Fans felt more of his warmth and comfort with the special gifts he prepared. Lucky fans went home with signed gifts including handkerchiefs and mask and glasses necklaces. He also personally designed a bayong on stage, tracing his hand to signify a hi-five. He hopes that it cheers the person, especially during hard times.

But fans of the SF9 member did not allow the night to pass without sending him off with the sweetest gifts and the most comforting video message and fan project for their shining star, Seokwoo — whenever, wherever, let’s be together.

Ro Woon capped off the evening with a performance of his original soundtrack for his 2021 drama The King’s Affection, “No Goodbye In Love”. Indeed, there is no goodbye in love but only see you again. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much,” said the singer-actor in his ending message.

The RO WOON LIVE IN MANILA: A Kmmunity Exclusive Fan Meet gifted everyone at the SM Mall of Asia Arena with lasting memories to revisit and warm our days with. Ro Woon was charming, full of life, and generous, giving everyone big smiles on their faces. And the crowd reciprocated all of it with so much love and admiration for the singer-actor who deserves every bit of it. As Ro Woon wrote, “Thank you for making me all the unforgettable memories.”

Special thanks to Kmmunity PH, Happee Hour and Globe for having us.

  • Hwang In Youp Charms Filipino Fans in BYS Fun Meet in Manila

Hwang In Youp Charms Filipino Fans in BYS Fun Meet in Manila

Words and photos by Danica Lacson

It was, without a doubt, a beautiful first meeting between Hwang In Youp and his Filipino fans at the BYS Fun Meet in Manila!

South Korean model-actor Hwang In Youp is no stranger to the Philippines, having spent four years studying in Davao in his teenage years. Fast forward to 2022, the True Beauty star returns to the country he once called his home — not to study — but to meet his Filipino fans who welcomed him with warmness and sunshine, making up for the gloomy skies of June 19.

Hwang In Youp BYS Fun Meet in Manila press conference

Before the BYS Fun Meet in Manila, presented by BYS Cosmetics Philippines in partnership with Wilbros Live, at the New Frontier Theater, the actor charmed the press members with his graciousness and sweet personality during a press conference held at the EDSA Shangri-la.

Hwang In Youp expressed his joy in coming back to the Philippines and shared his surprise to be greeted by fans during his arrival in the country the night before. He also looked back on his years in Davao — a place, he said, has a special place in his heart. The actor added that he remains in touch with his friends despite not seeing each other for about a decade. He admitted wanting to visit the city. “The schedule for this trip is quite tight, so I will probably not be able to go to Davao. Maybe I will make a side trip,” he joked.

The actor, who currently leads the SBS drama Why Her, also revealed his favorite local foods. He listed down Jollibee’s fried chicken, Chowking’s halo-halo, and kwek-kwek as his favorite. Adding to the list of his favorite foods are mango float and pineapple. Aside from food, he shared the local places he wished to visit which include Boracay and Cebu.

On Skincare and Self-Care: Hwang In Youp uncovers his secret to true beauty and what being yourself means to him.

BYS Cosmetics Philippines took huge strides in its research and development as it ventures into skincare with the launch of Skin by BYS. The skincare brand features a complete range of products that cater to a wide range of skin types.

And BYS Cosmetics Philippines chose the best endorser to represent — an actor who also made huge strides in his career — Hwang In Youp who was named ambassador of BYS Cosmetics Philippines in September 2021 with the launch of Skin by BYS.

During the press conference, the Why Her actor revealed his secret to his clear and smooth skin. According to him, aside from BYS products, he always applies sunscreen — a habit he developed when he was a kid, thanks to his parents. He also loved taking cold showers and using lip balm to moisturize his lips. In addition, the actor also emphasized having a positive attitude. He shared that he unwinds by going on late-night drives and listening to music.

Asked what it means to be yourself, Hwang In Youp emphasized the importance of loving oneself. “As you live life, you get to a point where you become critical of yourself or maybe even hate yourself. I think it is really important to switch that paradigm to loving yourself because it is only in loving yourself that you are able to go to the next step which is loving others,” he said.

A Fun Meeting: What Went Down at the BYS Fun Meet in Manila

Fans of Hwang In Youp will definitely remember June 19 with the fondest memories. Even before the actor came out from backstage, New Frontier Theater was filled with excited cheers. And those cheers grew louder when the man of the hour emerged on stage with the brightest smile.

He greeted the crowd with a “Hello. Ako si Hwang In Youp.”

Through the BYS Fun Meet in Manila, fans got to know the actor better and listen to some behind-the-scene stories of his drama shoots. He recounted his stay in the Philippines, expressing his love for Davao, Filipino food, and more. The Philippines definitely felt the love as the actor said that if he got the chance to be 18 again, he will do the same thing — live in the Philippines, study in Davao, and eat kwek-kwek.

He also revealed more details about being ambidextrous, his fashion statement, and how he entered the entertainment industry. Hwang In Youp made his acting debut in 2018 through the web drama Why. He went on to star in various productions including The Tale of Nokdu, 18 Again, True Beauty, and currently, Why Her.

And fans of the actor did not hold back in expressing their love for his True Beauty character, Han Seojun. Asked about his definition of “true beauty”, the actor said true beauty is about loving yourself in order to love other people. Meanwhile, talking about his dream role, Hwang In Youp said that, more than a particular role, his dream role is the role that fans would love.

From Goo Ja Sung, to Han Seo Jun, and now, Gong Chan: The Many Roles of Hwang In Youp

The attendees of the fun meet got to take a trip-down-memory-lane on Hwang In Youp’s various dramas with the actor himself. Scenes from his dramas True Beauty, 18 Again, and Why Her were played *cue shy Hwang In Youp* — who also shared behind-the-scene stories, including a sweet shout-out for Moon Ga Young. The actor thanked his True Beauty leading lady for helping him out in his scenes.

Although we did not get to meet singer Hwang In Youp as his throat is unwell, the actor still granted fans’ request for a snippet of his official soundtrack, “It Starts Today”. He even teased fans by only singing a line from the song at first. What a cutiiiie!

Lucky fans got the opportunity to ask the actor questions and got their wishes granted.

Ending the night with a promise to see each other again

The BYS Fun Meet in Manila featuring Hwang In Youp gifted fans with the sweetest memories to treasure until his next visit. He said goodbye with appreciative and comforting words, easing the heartbreak of bidding a temporary farewell. “Thank you all so much for coming out tonight. I hope you love the brand BYS, which I endorse, as much as I do. I will be going home tonight, but I hope I can come back and spend more time with you. Thank you so much for coming tonight. Be healthy. I love you!”

Hwang In Youp’s BYS Fun Meet in Manila was presented by BYS Cosmetics Philippines in partnership with Wilbros Live. The Philippine Concerts extends gratitude to BYS Cosmetics Philippines and Wilbros Live for the invite to the press conference and event.

  • The Hammingtons in Juanderland: Fanmeeting in Manila on July 17

The Hammingtons in Juanderland: Fanmeeting in Manila on July 17

Get ready to meet your favorite trio, The Hammingtons, as they fly to Juanderland for their first fan meeting

This July is a good time for a family bonding activity as South Korea’s cutest trio is coming to Manila!

For the first time, Sam, William, and Bentley are coming to meet Filipino fans at The Hammingtons in Juanderland: Fanmeeting in Manila. The event is scheduled to take place on July 17, 2022, Sunday, at 3 PM at the New Frontier Theater.

The South Korean stars rose to fame in 2016 when they joined the roster for “The Return of Superman,” a reality show featuring celebrity dads and their children. Initially, it was only Sam and William (now five years old) who appeared on the show. Bentley (now four years old) joined a year later after he was born.

The three quickly became fan favorites and eventually brought home the prestigious “Grand Prize” (locally known as “Daesang”) at the 2018 KBS Entertainment Awards along with the other cast.

Earlier this year, the family decided to step down from the show to pursue other opportunities. One of which is “Wilbengers: Suspicious Camping Commotion,” an animated superhero film starring William and Bentley, together with their dad. The family also recently launched their new variety show titled “The Hammingtons’ Dream Closet” which airs on the ENA channel.

Outside of mainstream media, the boys are busy with their very own Youtube channel, “THE WILLBEN SHOW,” which has now amassed more than 350,000 subscribers.

Despite their packed schedule, The Hammingtons are excited to come to Manila.

“This is an amazing opportunity and we are so looking forward to meeting our fans. The last few years have been really difficult due to restrictions but finally being able to have the chance to meet some of our international fans is so exciting,” shared Sam Hammington, the family patriarch.

Sam is a New Zealander-Australian comedian who gained stardom in the South Korean reality television show “Real Men.” In 2013, he won the “Best Male Newcomer” award for his amazing performance on the show.

With only a few weeks until the fanmeet, Sam shared how the Hammingtons have begun preparation.

“We are not trying to overly prepare as we want to have an authentic experience while we are there. However, we have been trying to learn some Tagalog but it is not as easy as we thought it would be.”

Sam also shared that they’re eager to try some of the delicious food recommended by the fans; most notably, “chocolate rice” or champorado in Tagalog.

When asked how the kids reacted to the news, the 44-year-old star candidly answered, “To be honest, I have told them but I don’t think they quite comprehend where we are going. They are excited to go on an airplane to another country. But when we get there I am sure they will be excited.”

As a parting message to fans, Sam had this to say: “First and foremost, thank you for supporting us in everything we do. We appreciate you all, and without you, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. This is our opportunity to thank you in person and hope to meet as many of our fans as possible.”

The Hammingtons’ fanmeeting in Manila is just one of the many Asian stops lined up for the family. With WILD Group now managing their international activities, fans can look forward to seeing more of the trio in-person and on various media platforms across Southeast Asia.

Tickets will be available this Saturday via TicketNet online. Prices for the fanmeet range from PHP2, 850 (Balcony) to PHP6, 500 (MVP). The Hammingtons in Juanderland: Fanmeeting in Manila is presented by CDM Entertainment.
