MEI MEI knocks on the door with “Namamasko Po,”

There is something special about the way Filipinos do Christmas. The season starts early, the food is endless, the karaoke never stops, and someone is always ready to open the door with a smile when they hear those familiar words: “Namamasko po.”

Eight young women decided to turn that familiar greeting into a full-blown holiday anthem. MEI MEI’s “Namamasko Po” is a warm, playful, unmistakably Pinoy hug wrapped in a catchy melody and a tambourine that feels like it came straight from a neighborhood caroling group.

Formed in 2026 under Groovy Garden Records (a PULP Group label), MEI MEI is an eight-member P-pop girl group built on joy, confidence, and heart. Their name is a clever double play: the Mandarin “mèimei” (little sister) and the Filipino habit of repeating nicknames out of affection, Jan-Jan, Mai-Mai, the whole soft, familiar thing.
The members each carry their own color and persona:

Alexa — Spark MEI MEI (Purple)
Jhamayka — Cool MEI MEI (Blue)
Ada — Dolly MEI MEI (Yellow)
Aerise — Sweet MEI MEI (Lilac)
Yuni — Groovy MEI MEI (Green)
Thea — Princess MEI MEI (Baby Pink)
Jessie — Power MEI MEI (Red)
Dina — Diva MEI MEI (Hot Pink)

They debuted in May 2026 with the novelty-pop bop “Telebong (Hello Po),” followed it with the sassy “Alembong,” and then, just as the “ber” months started heating up, dropped their first Christmas track.

Written by Happee Sy (who also executive-produced) and arranged and produced by Dominic Benedicto, “Namamasko Po” takes the classic Filipino tradition of pamamasko, going from house to house singing and asking for a little something in return, and gives it a modern, danceable spin.
