Manila, the music of the Hotdog band is coming home to Newport World Resorts. Original members and vocalists Maso Diez-Rivera, Gina Montes-Infante, and Rita Saguin-Trinidad are set to reunite for a special tribute concert on August 8, 2026, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. The one-night show honors the legendary band that pioneered the Manila Sound movement and produced some of the biggest hits in Philippine music history.
Sharing the stage with the Hotdog legends is an all-star lineup featuring Adie, Rob Deniel, Atasha Muhlach, Sam Concepcion, KD Estrada, Jeff Moses, Anthony Rosaldo, Wilbert Ross, ALAMAT, Aubrey Caraan, Mia Bella, RAYA, and GAT, who will deliver fresh interpretations of the band’s timeless hits. More surprise performers are expected to join the celebration, making it a one-night gathering of generations of OPM artists.
The concert pays tribute to Hotdog, the band formed by brothers Dennis and Rene Garcia in the 1970s and became the leading force behind the Manila Sound movement. Audiences can look forward to fresh performances of iconic songs including “Annie Batungbakal,” “Bongga Ka, ‘Day!,” “Manila,” “Beh Buti Nga,” “Pers Lab,” and “Ikaw ang Miss Universe ng Buhay Ko,” classics that continue to resonate with Filipinos nearly five decades after they first topped the charts.
Beyond celebrating the Hotdog band and their music, the concert also marks the countdown to Bongga Ka, ‘Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical, opening this September 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Newport World Resorts, in association with VIVA Communications and The Philippine STAR, reunites for their second major musical production featuring Hotdog’s timeless hits.
Leading the production is Atasha Muhlach in the title role, together with Sam Concepcion, KD Estrada, Jeff Moses, Anthony Rosaldo, Jackie Lou Blanco, and John Lapus. Several members of the cast will also perform in the tribute concert, giving audiences an early glimpse of the music before it comes alive on the musical stage.
