For the first time, Spotify is launching its Editors’ Picks: Best OPM Songs of the Year So Far – an unranked, editorially driven mid-year snapshot of the 50 songs released this year that are shaping local music culture in 2026.
Curated by Spotify Philippines’ editorial team, these are the tracks that stood out for their songwriting, musicality, distinctiveness, and cultural impact — capturing not just what people are streaming, but what is defining the sound and spirit of OPM so far this year.
Drawing on deep expertise in music, culture and listening behavior, Spotify Philippines’ editorial team listens to hundreds of songs across all genres each week. For this list, they discussed, debated, and weighed each track to arrive at a selection that goes beyond the charts. Editors’ Picks puts human taste at the centre of music discovery.
“What we’re hearing in OPM right now are artists who sound like no one but themselves. The songwriting is sharper, the sound and production is more adventurous, and the influences are coming from everywhere. As editors, we’re immersed in the artists, communities, and conversations shaping Filipino music every day — and this list reflects it. We’re excited for listeners to discover these 50 songs, the music that continues to soundtrack lives everywhere.” said Chesca Tan, Lead Editor for Spotify Philippines.
Filipino artists are blending genres, languages, and influences in ways that defy any single label. Skusta Clee and Flow G’s “Since Day One” sits alongside ena mori’s experimental “19 Underground, BINI’s “Unang Kilig,” and Hev Abi’s “WALANG HIYA” — showing the range of what OPM sounds like right now.
