Avatar: The Last Airbender is Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the award-winning Nickelodeon animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, and it is here that we get our first look at the characters from the Fire Nation.
The streaming giant released several photos of the Fire Nation characters and these photos include Daniel Dae Kim as “Fire Lord Ozai,” Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as “General Iroh,” Ken Leung as “Commander Zhao,” and Elizabeth Yu as “Princess Azula,” and Dallas Liu as “Prince Zuko.”

Originally written by Albert Kim. The series follows Aang (Gordon Cormier), the child Avatar, as he learns to control the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, and Air) in order to restore equilibrium to a world that is threatened by the frightening Fire Nation.

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang (Gordon Cormier), a young Air Nomad โ and the last of his kind โ reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar. Alongside his newfound friends Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko (Dallas James Liu) determined to capture them, it wonโt be an easy task. Theyโll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way.
Wilbros Live and IAM Worldwide brought Park Seo Jun back to the Philippines on October 14 for a fun meet. It was an amazing night especially for fans who have been waiting for so long to see him, whether for the first time or to see him again.
And what an entrance it was when it was time for Park Seo Jun to go on stage. Screams filled the Araneta Coliseum as the lights flashed and smoke and fireworks filled the stage. Park Seo Jun could be seen on the LED screen from backstage as he made his entrance.
Once on stage, he introduced himself in English, โHello Iโm Seo Jun Park. Iโm happy to join you tonight. Thank you for inviting me IAM. IAM Worldwide Amazing.โ
For the first segment of the show, host Sam Oh asked him a couple of questions to catch up with him.

Park Seo Jun shared that he finished filming a drama, and how he balances work and personal time, as well as how he would love to go to the Philippines for vacation.
The next segment called โPark at your own wishโ was where they shared the answers to questions they had asked fans about Park Seo Jun and if his answers would match theirs.
The questions ranged from what fashion style would they prefer Park Seo Jun to wear, what superpower he wished he had, as well as what food would they like him to try while in the Philippines.
When asked about which genre of music he would listen to during a road trip, he answered, โBTS is the best.โ
After that, he played a game of Never-Have-I-Ever but it was called โLetโs Seo Them.โ He was asked a number of questions like if he had ever Googled himself, traveled solo, and prepared dinner for friends.
Next was a segment called โSeo and Tellโ where they showed a collection of photos and videos from Park Seo Junโs social media pages while talking about it. For example, a selfie of him at the gym was shown and Sam Oh asked how many times a week he exercised, and he said about 3-4 times a week.
A few fans were also chosen to play games on stage: writing Park Seo Junโs name in Korean as well as a ring toss game. There were a total of four winners and they were lucky to not only get signed merchandise from Park Seo Jun, but also a photo and a hug.
Sam Oh then read a couple of fan messages and Park Seo Jun responded to each one. One fan was lucky enough to get a birthday greeting from him. Aside from this, fans even surprised Park Seo Jun with a fan video.
After Park Seo Junโs farewell message, he went around on stage waving to as many fans as he could while confetti rained on stage. What a fun and unforgettable night for Park Seo Jun fans!
Philippinesโ primetime โbidasโ Alden Richardsโ and Julia Montesโ highly-anticipated big screen event โFive Breakups and A Romanceโ is set to exceed estimates and continue to break the local movie industryโs slump when it opens in local cinemas nationwide on October 18.
โFive Breakups and A Romanceโ is directed by Irene Villamor (also known for her work in โMeet Me in St. Gallenโ that won the Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress awards at FACINE, โSid and Ayaโ and โCamp Sawiโ). The very first collaboration between GMA Pictures, Cornerstone Studios, MYRIAD Corporation, Aldenโs multimedia company and distributed by Axinite Digicinema, the film also marks the first team up of Richards and Montes for the big screen.
An endearing romantic love story, โFive Breakups and A Romanceโ is a modern love story between Lance (Richards), a carefree fellow and Justine (Montes), career-centric woman, as they navigate to find the ideal midpoint between love and career. The film treads on the complexities of relationships in todayโs fast changing landscape, but when the unexpected comes, will Lance and Justine choose love over career? Will they choose the present over the future? How many times do they have to let go in order to find a way back into each otherโs lives? The unconventional pairing of the lead actors in the movie also pushes their talents tackling fresh characters and more mature roles as they deal with scenes (as teased on the trailer) theyโve never done on the big screen before.

PULP Studios introduces its first film project, MAโAM CHIEF, set to premiere on November 15!

Against the Current has found a home on the Philippine stage as they have returned to the country for the sixth time, delighting Filipino rock fans with another world tour, Nightmares and Daydreams last October 8, 2023, at SM North EDSA Skydome, presented by PULP Live World.
Against the Current, which consists of Chrissy Costanza, Daniel Gow, and Will Ferri, seems to have a Pinoy bug fever that they can’t get enough of and that their fans can’t get enough of either. They had to return and not miss the Philippines as their stop.
Legends Never Die
A tour-hour-long concert took the place of a setlist by Chrissy Costanza, Daniel Gow, and Will Ferri, along with their touring bassist David Whitmore, who played their most popular and nostalgic songs plucked from their decade-long discography under an incredible rock atmosphere that embraced both the band and the crowd.
An electrifying playlist ensued, while the band interacted with the crowd, who to their surprise, found fans who had been present since their first show in the country.
โHow are you doing Manila? It’s been a while since we’ve been here, 5, 6 years?โ recalled their vocalist Chrissy. โI think I was 17 when I came here the first time!โ She talked to a fan on the barricades who mentioned they were only 15 when the band came here and itโs evident that the band has formed a solid fanbase in the country with fans who never miss an attendance whenever they bless Manila with their music.
A playful banter throughout the night took place with the band and the fans, and a switch up with the bandโs drummer, Will played an acoustic guitar with the song โโChasing Ghost.โ
A notable stage was when they played, โLegends Never Dieโ as their encore opening, easily being their most popular track, the anthem for League of Legends Worlds 2017, and currently the gameโs most played original anthem track.

The Philippine indie label, headed by Ely Buendia, embarks on a new milestone as it presents ten of the most exciting newcomers in the local music scene.
Offshore Music, a Manila-based independent label known for its cutting-edge artistry and focus on creative integrity, has officially launched its newest batch of homegrown music acts for 2023.
The indie record label recently introduced an exciting mix of solo artists, singer-songwriters, and college rock bands who are poised to leave a mark in the music industry with their immense talent and unique vision.
The launch, which was presented by Offshore Music with support from Sony Music Entertainment and The New Hue, took place at the Astbury in Makati City on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
Aside from the usual Q&A and networking sessions with media and industry professionals, the newcomers were presented and given a minute each to introduce themselves. The newly signed acts under Offshore Music include city pop outfit ALYSON, Baguio City-based indie rock band Amateurish, rising alternative rock sensations Her Name Is Noelle and Ligaya Escueta, bedroom pop soloist neytan, alt-R&B adventurists JDRX and CRISHA, funk/pop/groove band Mt. Lewis, folk/indie artist Breฤ, and psych-pop troubadour Elton Clark.
In making the announcement, Offshore Music CEO Ely Buendia said, โI really donโt know what to expect, and thatโs whatโs great about it. By choosing Offshore Music, these artists have proven that they value artistic growth over anything else.โ
Buendia also emphasized the labelโs guiding force since day one: โArtists for Artists.โ Over the years, he took pride in how Offshore Music remained consistent in championing a generation of talented, young musicians who continue to push the boundaries of music on creative terms.
โThe teamโs real-world experiences are invaluable to the artists’ careers, making their growth, authenticity, and creativity the number one priority,โ the Filipino rock legend adds.
To date, Offshore Music lives up to its legacy as one of the most important indie record labels in the country, providing a home to carefully handpicked artists and bands such as Apartel, ena mori, Pinkmen, Sulo, Sansette, and Eliza Marie.
One of their newly signed acts, Elton Clark kicks off the release spree with โWait Lang,โ his debut single under Offshore Music and Sony Music Entertainment. A timely song that addresses the struggles of everyday life in the city, “Wait Lang” finds comfort in taking periodic pauses and embracing moments of rest. Speaking about his debut single, Elton Clark shares, “I wanted ‘Wait Lang’ to be a reminder to my listeners that no matter how hectic life gets, it’s crucial to take a moment to breathe. This song is about acknowledging the challenges we face and understanding that it’s okay to pause and recharge.”

The ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’ live action series is an upcoming live-action adaption of the original manga that is set for release on December 14, 2023 on Netflix worldwide.
The ‘YuYu Hakusho’ manga series was written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi and originally serialized by Shueisha in the shลnen manga magazine Weekly Shลnen Jump from 1990 to 1994. The series breathes new life into the story, and fans old and new can expect to encounter their favorite characters in ways that have never been seen before.
Takumi Kitamura will play the part of Yusuke, the protagonist of the series. Yusuke is a troubled adolescent who, following an accident, transforms into a Spirit Detective. Meanwhile, actors Jun Shison, Kanata Hongo, and Shuhei Uesugi, will take on the roles of Kurama, Hiei, and Kuwabara.
Utilizing a unique global one-team production strategy that spanned both Japan and the United Statesโthe same approach to adapt the acclaimed โONE PIECEโ mangaโNetflix took the same level of commitment to quality and authenticity in the live-action ONE PIECE to the production of ‘Yu Yu Hakusho.’
An international dream team was also assembled to bring the epic tale to the screen, tapping into the most advanced CG and VFX technologies from around the world. Known as โthe most innovative VFX studio in the worldโ and lauded for their work on major Hollywood productions, Scanline VFX was instrumental in giving life to all the characters, both human and yokai (spirits), while delivering realistic battle action sequences.
Taking five years to complete the production of Yu Yu Hakusho, the team painstakingly ensured that the subtleties of every characterโs emotions were accurately depicted in the adaptation. The fusion of state-of-the-art technology and a passion for staying true to the source material promises to make this adaptation a standout in the world of live-action anime.
‘Yu Yu Hakusho’ will be turned into a live-action Netflix series on December 14, 2023. When this version comes out, we can’t wait to see Yusuke Urameshi and his friends face demons and other creatures.
Niall Horan returns to the Philippine concert stage for the Manila leg of The Show: Live on Tour!

The 2023 HWANG MIN HYUN MINI CONCERT ‘UNVEIL’ in Manila at the New Frontier Theater last October 8, 2023, was an unforgettable night for his fans (called Hwangdo). The evening kicked off with a VCR, setting the mood for an evening filled with music and memories. The artist’s favorite song, “Universe,” played, and anticipation was high as the fans eagerly awaited his performance.
Hwang Min Hyun began the night by performing “Hidden Side” and greeted his PH Hwangdo with a warm “kamusta kayo.” The fans’ cheers and excitement filled the venue as he took the stage. One of the most memorable segments of the night was the “Unveil Timing Game.” This engaging segment consisted of three parts: guessing which part of the music video was displayed on the screen and performing it, singing along flawlessly to the song even when it stopped and started again, and continuing a line from his K-drama Alchemy of Souls. Despite losing the games, Min Hyun cheerfully accepted the challenge, wearing headbands chosen by fans and dancing along to “Betcha” by EXO’s Baekhyun and “Super Shy” by New Jeans. He continued to wow the audience with performances of “Perfect Type” and “Cube,” as well as the heart-touching “Tree” from Alchemy of Souls.
In the following segment, he transformed into a radio DJ and read a heartfelt letter from someone named “Yul,” who coincidentally shared the name of his character from Alchemy of Souls. As he provided advice, he sang songs by K.Will, Jung Seunghwan, Zitten, and Martin Smith, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

Filipino music icon AEGIS is set to stage a concert that aims to capture the spirit of the holiday season. Dubbed AEGIS: The Christmas Bonus Concert, the year-end celebration marks the first time that the OPM stars will be serenading their fans with Christmas-themed songs as well as their career-spanning Greatest Hits set.
The concert will take place on December 20, 2023, from 8:00 p.m. onwards, at the Theatre At Solaire in Paranaque City, Metro Manila.
Backed by an orchestra and rendered with intricate arrangements that elevate the experience of listening to AEGIS live, the concert finds the Pinoy vocal powerhouse at the top of their game, celebrating with fellow Filipino people in expressing gratitude for year-long blessings and love, and for the opportunity to spend more time with family during the holiday breaks.
