     Vilmark celebrates Kapampangan love with new single “O Jo!”

    Kapuso singer-songwriter Vilmark’s latest single under GMA Music “O Jo!” is a heartwarming love song that pays homage to his roots and celebrates the beauty of Kapampangan culture.

    Now available on digital platforms worldwide, “O Jo!” is a term of endearment in Kapampangan, inspired by Vilmark’s personal experiences as a witness to his parents’ enduring love throughout the years. The singer’s soulful vocals and melodic composition also perfectly capture the essence of Kapampangan music.

    “The meaning of ‘O Jo!’ is ‘beloved one.’ I want to challenge myself as a Kapampangan to create a song with a Kapampangan touch. I want it to not only resonate with Kapampangans but also introduce the beauty of our language and culture to a wider audience,” Vilmark shared. “The term ‘O Jo!’ holds a special place in my heart because I always hear it from my parents. I believe it encapsulates the love and affection that I’ve experienced.”

    In addition to its romantic lyrics, the song also showcases Vilmark’s versatility as an artist through the unique musical arrangement that he created. Its uplifting melody and rhythm will leave listeners inspired and connected.

    “I hope the song will inspire listeners to embrace their heritage and celebrate the power of love,” he said. “I hope people will feel kung paano magmahal ang isang Kapampangan. This is my first single about love and I’ve been waiting for this perfect time to finally release a love song.”

    Vilmark releases an emotional single, “INOWY”

    In the Philippines, acronyms aren’t just confined to boardrooms; they find their way into the heart of music. Filipinos, known for their love of succinct expressions, infuse songs with clever acronyms, turning melodies into linguistic puzzles.

    Singer-songwriter Vilmark continues the tradition with his latest single, “INOWY (I’m Not Okay Without You),” a soul-stirring and powerful ballad that delves into themes of loss and finding the strength to move forward.

    “INOWY (I’m Not Okay Without You),” is under GMA Music and is currently available on all major digital platforms.

    A song that serves as a sequel to his previous song “Lisan,” INOWY is a deeply personal project for Vilmark, who wrote it as a way to cope with the death of his father in 2022.

    At the online media launch for the single, Vilmar explains, “This song is about sharing with people that it’s okay not to be okay. Because it’s a phase that you need to go through to move forward and start anew. Until you accept the reality that you’re not okay, you’ll keep masking your true feelings. I wrote this song from a place of pain, but I hope it can bring comfort and hope to others who are going through tough times. It’s okay not to be okay, but it’s important to remember that we are not alone.”

    He also shared some of the challenges he faced while creating this song, with the primary one being that it is the first English song he has written.

    VILMARK’S SONGS AS SOUNDTRACKS
    Vilmark’s earlier composition, “Lisan,” gained further recognition when selected by Jennylyn Mercado for her latest GMA Prime series, “Love. Die. Repeat.,” with Xian Lim.

    Expressing his gratitude for the unexpected opportunity, Vilmark recalled, “I was so excited. I watched Ms. Jennylyn sing the song on All-Out-Sundays. She told me that it was a beautiful song and was perfect for ‘Love. Die. Repeat.’ He hopes to have the same thing happen with “INOWY (I’m Not Okay Without You),”

    Despite working as a full-time engineer on a night shift, Vilmark continues to balance his professional life with his passion for music.

    The artist looks forward to the future, expressing the desire to release more singles, working towards a full album. He also dreams of having his own concert someday and would like to write songs for other songs!

    Vilmark’s dream collaboration is with Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose, and he hopes to write a duet with her.
