Oh boy! Manila finally got the luck to see Henry Cavill up close last December 12, Thursday, during his visit to Manila to promote his new series for Netflix, The Witcher. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the series’ show-runner, was with him from the press conference to meeting their incredible Manila fans.
The two were very generous and game to sign a lot of posters with Henry even signing Superman items as he walked towards the black carpet.
We listed our ultimate fan-favorite moments during the event:
We were able to see him in flesh and up close! (Thanks to Netflix for making it possible!)
We got to know that he was a huge PC gamer and a fan of the novel long before he can read it himself. What a sweet surprise that this mutated monster hunter can relate to what he is and will be on the show.
Lauren’s answer when asked about how she approaches each project (that come her way) on a woman’s perspective:
I never think of myself as a female writer. I’m just a writer trying to solve stories. What’s important to me is to make sure that the stories that we’re telling about women are as dimensional and interesting as the ones were telling about men. It’s not about women being appropriate. It’s not about men being more appropriate. We’re making sure that all these characters are fully fleshed out.
That Geralt has indeed soft spots! He is for love which fans will get to see on the show
That the show will be the next big thing to look out for.
The souvenirs! What better way to commemorate the show than having to bring home memorabilia — a shirt, a signature wolf medallion, and a signed poster!
The fact that Henry went an extra mile for his audition and didn’t stop waiting, making follow up, and phone calls for the most coveted role.
Thank you, Netflix! We are excited to know all about The Witcher and see how beautiful you guys will transform it will from a novel to series. The Witcher premieres on Netflix on December 20th.
