The members of South Korea’s well-loved variety show, Running Man, head to Manila this April!
As if we didn’t just wrap up an explosive year of euphoric K-Pop events, 2023 is shaping up to be an even greater year for all Filipino Hallyu fans. Get ready as one of the highly-requested shows of the decade is finally about to happen in the Philippines for the first time ever!
Prepare to be filled with thrill and excitement as PULP Live World brings in another world-class act to celebrate a decade and more of producing the best K-events the country has seen. The cast of the longest-running variety show on SBS Channel, Running Man, is heading to the Philippines for a grand fanmeeting – RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER 2023 IN MANILA will take place on April 1, 2023, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
More than ten years since its pilot episode on July 2010 on SBS, the Sunday variety show Running Man has successfully conquered South Korean television with its outstanding comedic acts and games that would bring viewers to different spots across Korea and other countries. It started out as an “urban action variety,” a TV genre with physical and mental games that take place in an urban environment. Immediately after, it became famous for its various games which are replicated by fans of the show worldwide. But aside from that, it was really their Name-Tag Ripping Challenge that has become their signature game, having been highly anticipated in each episode and getting viewers on the edge of their seats out of excitement.
The show is headlined by the cast members: Korea’s renowned MC Yu Jae Suk, comedian Jee Suk Jin, singer and actor Kim Jong Kook, actress Song Ji Hyo, singer and MC Haha, MC Yang Se Chan, and actress Jeon So Min. Their individuality and different quirks add flavor to the show which most viewers love. With their funny banter and almost-slapstick comedy style, the viewers can easily relate to their humor.
More than a decade since Running Man first aired on TV, and now with more than 600 episodes, the show has proven itself timeless through the years. The show’s games previously highlighted Korean Culture and Tourism. However, it has also incorporated global culture and inspiration into its format. With episodes that were inspired by Hollywood films and ones that feature the cast touring across Asia (for fan meetings and also filming challenges inspired by the country they are in), Running Man can now be considered a global TV phenomenon that encapsulates worldwide cultures and showcasing them in one grand variety show.
More than that, the show has victoriously garnered recognitions from numerous award-giving bodies as 2019 StarHub Favorite Variety Show and Best Entertainment Program at the 51st Baeksang Arts Awards, and Best Teamwork Award at the 12th SBS Entertainment Awards to name a few—all made possible by the efforts of each staff behind it and as well as the members of the cast.
Now, to celebrate a decade of bringing happiness and laughter to fans through their TV sets, Running Man will be coming to Manila to finally meet their Filipino Fans. This is undoubtedly a show that every Hallyu fan should look forward to. Don’t miss this chance to meet the Running Man cast and run to the Mall of Asia Arena on April 1, 2023, at 6 p.m. for the RUNNING MAN ‘A DECADE OF LAUGHTER’ TOUR IN MANILA. This show is proudly brought to you by PULP Live World.
Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets nationwide and online via www.smtickets.com. Further ticketing and show details will be announced soon. Please stay tuned on our social media accounts, PULP Live World on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and visit our website www.pulp.ph
“Don’t walk, RUN!” Finally, after years of waiting, the event every Runner has dreamed of is happening! RUNNING MAN celebrates a decade of laughter with Filipino fans this April!
Time surely flew fast as in 2023, we are already marking Running Man‘s 13th anniversary since airing its first episode on July 11, 2010, and introducing Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, Gary, Haha, Lee Kwang Soo, and Song Joong Ki as the cast of then-SBS’s newest variety show.
That same year, we got to welcome Song Ji Hyo into the bunch, giving us another side of the actress we don’t often see on TV. Although only for a short while, we also got to embrace After School’s Lizzy as the maknae of the show. The years also saw us saying goodbye to Song Joong Ki in 2011, to Gary in 2016, and to Lee Kwangsoo in 2021. But the family did not shrink, it grew, as we welcome Jeon So Min and Yang Se Chan as the newest members of the team in 2017.
More ten years after, Running Man remains solid in its position as one of the most popular Korean entertainment show. As we start our countdown to only seven days before the members of Running Man make their long-awaited debut on the Philippine concert stage, allow us to celebrate the decade (and more) we shared with them in this list of 10 things we love about Running Man.
When we talk about Running Man, we cannot miss talking about the members’ team spirit. Probably one of the reasons why the show went on for a solid decade is because of the chemistry of the cast — and the staff. We love how each member has found his or her place in the team and how the members work together to bring each other up and the show to another fun level.
We have witnessed great teamwork in every episode and it has also been highlighted a lot of times in episodes where they team up together — against the guests or the staff.
#2 Our Nation’s MC: Yoo Jae Suk
Yoo Jae Suk leads Running Man with great passion (like all his shows) because our Nation’s MC is truly dedicated to bringing out the best program for every viewer. We learn of behind-the-scene stories on how passionate our Yoo-ruce Willis is and we have seen that transpire in the show where he is not afraid to get dirty, look stupid, or be teased.
He also helps the members shine in their own spotlight and relieve the awkwardness of guests through his funny antics and superb MCing.
#3 Our Big-Nosed Hyung-nim: Ji Suk Jin
Ji Suk Jin may not be the most athletic member of the show, but we appreciate his cute running and his gullible personality that brings so much joy to the program. Our impala has his own brand of comedy that we enjoy so much and we constantly root for his triumph.
We can’t imagine Running Man without our race starter and his cute interactions with his dongsaeng who look out for him sweetly.
#4 Our Sparta-Kook: Kim Jong Kook
Our strong commander Kim Jong Kook is our role model in keeping us healthy with his discipline workout and diet. But more so, he is our adorable Kookie who inspires us to appreciate our families above all.
He may be seen bossing the members around and being the strict leader, but we know it’s all love and fun for the members — those bickering our gold, to be honest. Ten years have passed, but our Mr. Capable continues to be the strongest for all of us.
#5 Our One and Only Haroro: Haha
We started Running Man with Haha being the team’s playboy, gushing about his crush on the show’s guest. But as approach the program’s tenth anniversary, our Haroro is no longer the little kid (but sometimes it still shows) who is all naughty and playful. He has become a devoted husband to Byul and a loving father to his three children.
We love to have witnessed the growth of our Ha-Rad Pitt in the last decade and to have been part of his incredible career — in variety shows and music.
#6 Our Pretty Mong Ji: Song Ji Hyo
Filipino fans may have known her as the talented ballet dancer, Min Hyo Rin, in the South Korean drama Princess Hours, but Running Man showed us how humble and simple our Goddess of Luck is in real life — from going about her day without make-up or fixing her hair to sleeping comfortably anywhere.
The past ten years showed us how Song Ji Hyo has lived up to her nickname as the Ace as she bravely takes on challenges and missions.
#7 Our Love Prosecutor: Jeon So Min
Running Man also introduced us to actress Jeon So Min who immediately won our hearts with her charming personality and pretty smile. She is willing to ride along to the playful antics of her fellow cast members and she also goes all out when it comes to the missions.
We truly adore her big smile! Our clumsy and cute So Min is a refreshing addition to the bunch.
#8 Our Strawberry Yang: Yang Se Chan
Almost two decades into the industry, our strawberry Yang has proven himself as a reliable person when it comes to bringing out the laughter in everyone.
His wit and humor add another layer of flavor to the show. Although he is the emerging unlucky guy, he brings in luck for all the viewers who need the laughter.
#9 Our Cherished Family Members
We will forever be thankful to Running Man for introducing us to the gems and forever family members Song Joong Ki, Lizzy, Gary, and Lee Kwang Soo. We have seen them transform from timid members to the glowing artists they have become today. We may have had to say goodbye to them in the show, but Running Man will always be family.
#10 The Missions And The Name Tag Legacy
Running Man went all out in creating creative and exciting games and missions! Through the years, the show has continued to innovate and enhance the quality of its missions, giving us fresh ideas each time.
But of course, when we talk about games, we can’t miss the races and the iconic Name Tag Elimination game — that intense race that got us gritting our teeth in suspense especially when bells are involved.
With a superb team composed of individually amazing people and made extra fun with all the exciting missions, Running Man has gifted us with a decade of laughter and memories that we will definitely treasure for a lifetime.
And on April 1, we are ready to create more fun memories as the members make their debut on the Philippine concert stage at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER IN MANILA is presented by SBS, PULP Live World, and Happee Hour.
RUNNING MAN IN MANILA is coming to you this April!
Finally, after years of waiting, the cast of the well-loved South Korean variety show Running Man is coming to the Philippines for RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER LIVE IN MANILA.
Presented by PULP Live World, the show is happening on April 1, 2023, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, bringing loads of fun and performances to Philippine Runners who have patiently hoped for the members to come to the archipelago.
And as we count down to less than a month before show day, we got ten reasons for you all why you should not miss seeing Ji Suk Jin, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, Haha, Song Ji Hyo, Jeon So Min, and Yang Se Chan live on the Philippine concert stage.
#1 It’s the first time!
“There’s a first time for everything,” they say and for Philippine Runners, April 1 will mark the first time they are going to see the cast of their favorite show.
There are a lot of firsts in this event that will surely make for an unforgettable evening, not only for the fans but for the members too.
#2 Performances by Running Man members!
Not all members are singers and dancers, but the team works hard to deliver impressive performances that deserve our applause.
In their previous fan meetings, the audience was treated to group performances, duets, and more, and we are sure Ji Suk Jin, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, Haha, Song Ji Hyo, Jeon So Min, and Yang Se Chan have a lot of surprises in store for their Runners.
#3 Running Man’s Teamwork
Ten years is no joke for a variety show, but Running Man withstood all that and has been giving people happiness for the past ten years — thanks to the members’ teamwork.
On April 1, we will bear witness to the fruit of their hard work as a team as they bring together a great show for all.
#4 The Teasings and Bickerings
A Running Man gathering will not be complete without them poking fun at each other and teasing one another. We would love to see the closeness of the members in person as they tease and bicker!
#5 Those once-in-a-lifetime fan interactions!
Ready yourselves for once-in-a-lifetime moments with the members! No more “sana all” because you will get to experience all the fan moments you have wished for.
#6 A lasting memory with the members
The wait may have been long, but the memories will surely be cherished and remembered with fondness. And in true Philippine K-event fashion, the fan meeting will definitely serve as a memory of a lifetime for both Philippine Runners and the members.
#7 Enjoy the night with your fellow Runners
Aside from seeing the cast live, you will also experience fun moments with your fellow Runners!
It will be one big gathering where you get to laugh out loud with Philippine Runners who have also waited for the night to happen. We are also looking forward to witnessing fan projects!
#8 Tons of Laughter Await You
We are 100 percent sure everyone at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on April 1 will go home crying tears of happiness.
Running Man members promise tons of laughter for everyone with their signature wit and humor that we all love and see every week.
#9 Celebration of a Decade and More
The night will be more special because, aside from marking the first time the members will visit Manila, it will also mark another milestone as 2023 will see the celebration of 13 years of laughter.
Running Man started airing in July 2010. Are you ready to welcome a new decade with the cast of your favorite show?
#10 Everyone Having Fun!

Celebrating its tenth year anniversary this 2020, Running Man aired its first episode on July 11, 2o10 as part of SBS’s Good Sunday lineup with veteran comedians and hosts Ji Suk Jin and Yoo Jae Suk, singers Kim Jong Kook, Gary, and Haha, and actors Song Joong Ki and Lee Kwang Soo as its original members.
After appearing as guest in the second to fifth episodes of the show, Song Ji Hyo became part of the program as a fixed member. After School’s Lizzy also became a member of the show from episode 18 to episode 26. After almost a year in the show, Song Joong Ki left the program to focus on his acting in April 2011, marking episode 41 as his final appearance as a fixed member. Still, the actor maintained a close relationship with the cast and crew, even making appearances as guest and visiting the set following his military discharge. In October 2016, Gary also announced his departure from the program to focus on his music.
Jeon So Min and Yang Se Chan joined Running Man as permanent members in April 2017.
Running Man has enjoyed massive popularity, not only in South Korea, but all over the world thanks to the amazing chemistry of its members, enjoyable and innovative missions, and its loyal following. The popularity of the show has led to the release of merchandise, adaptation into an animated show, comic book, animated movie, and musical. It also gave birth to a Chinese spin-off titled Keep Running.
In addition, the members have also met Runners in various Asian cities through fan meeting tours which started in 2013. They have held successful tours in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Wuhan, Taipei, Macao, Seri Kembangan, Seoul, and Ho Chi Minh City.
And this year, Running Man will celebrate a milestone with their Philippine Runners through RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER IN MANILA. The members have expressed their excitement to finally meet their local fans through a video greeting.
