Following Her Recent Wins, KREY Follows Up With “Why”

KREY has unveiled her newest single, “Why,” a hypnotizing alternative piece that whispers about complicated love. This release follows the warm reception of her earlier works “Waters” and “Meet Again,” which found their way onto Spotify’s discerning playlists — FRESH FINDS PH, OPM RISING, POSES, NEW MUSIC FRIDAY, and .PH — drawing listeners into her world of introspection.

In KREY’S words: “In a world overcomplicating love, ‘Why’ questions the mess and finds a simple truth. To my listeners, may this song be your guide to finding what feels right.”

The song’s indie alternative vibe invites you to daydream, stirring sentimental feelings of nostalgia and introspection. “Why” questions the irrational side of love. How can two people build a shared life and future together, only to end up as strangers or enemies? As the lyrics put it, “Wondering why life’s so weird that you meet someone that you won’t last with at all.”

Following her career wins, KREY has stayed active with live performances, including one at a Converge Philippines event and another at the Kadayawan Festival in Ayala Malls Abreeza, Davao, last August. For those craving a live performance, KREY is set to launch the single alongside an exclusive music video screening in Manila. WHY
    KREY

    verse 1:
been manipulated by those eyes- ah ah eyes
somethin’ ‘bout the words you say and the way you say it keeps me in a cloud
I don’t wanna lose myself this time
I was vindicated with the words you say that keeps me insane
    prechor:
And I- I would run to you
But I- I’m so done with you
    chorus:
why did lovers in the past
    make it all make sense?
    now it doesn’t make sense
    at all..
cause nothing lasts, because of people like you hurting people like me..
and all the time it’s fast,
    and no it doesn’t require
    any feeling and at most,
    it’s playing games..
    verse 2:
Wondering why life’s so weird that you meet someone that you won’t last with at all
Is there something bout the way that humans break just to build these walls?
    prechor:
And I- I would run to you
But I- I’m so done with you
    chorus:
why did lovers in the past
    make it all make sense?
    now it doesn’t make sense
    at all..
cause nothing lasts, because of people like you hurting people like me..
and all the time it’s fast,
    and no it doesn’t require
    any feeling and at most,
    it’s playing games..

KREY Returns with Hauntingly Beautiful Comeback Single “Meet Again”

After a two-year hiatus, 24-year-old recording artist, singer-songwriter, and musician KREY has just made her much-anticipated return to the music scene with her new single “Meet Again,” released on March 14, 2025. The track marks a significant evolution in KREY’s artistry, showcasing a deeper and more personal side to her storytelling.

KREY, one of the artists under Diorama FM, a music label dedicated to cultivating talent with a distinct sound and strong creative identity, is known for blending Indie and Pop with international-sounding hints. As a female Bisaya artist from Davao City, she brings a fresh and authentic perspective to the music scene.

She debuted as an artist in early 2020, introducing her unique sound with “Surface,” and then solidifying her place in the industry with “Falling,” a single distributed by a major record label. Her music, often described as the soothing voice in your head, transports listeners to a garden of excommunicated fairies, offering a mix of Alternative/Indie, Shoegaze, and Indie-pop that is as haunting as it is comforting.

“Meet Again” is not just a song—it’s a raw, emotional journey through the complexities of love, the pain of timing, and the bittersweet process of letting go. The track delves into KREY’s own experiences, marked by her signature contrast of salt-on-the-wound lyrics against lush, ambient indie-pop production. It captures the melancholic yet introspective spirit of her sad girl era, a phase that might leave fans wondering, “What happened?”

“This release is my way of reintroducing myself to the world,” KREY shares. “It’s about sharing the experiences that shaped me and connecting with listeners through my rawness and vulnerability—something I’ve never shown before.”

As KREY steps back into the spotlight, “Meet Again” serves as both a fresh introduction and a powerful reminder of her unique voice and artistic vision. Her storytelling not only reveals her truth but also invites listeners to find comfort and connection through shared experiences.

“Meet Again” is now available on all major streaming platforms. For more information, follow KREY on her official social media channels.
