Some biggest international and local stars will once again share the stage for the second MTV Music Evolution.
MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016 will showcase iconic and contemporary international music artists and the hottest new acts in both the regional and local music scenes on a single stage, while featuring the best of Philippine music and culture to international youth audiences. Organized by MTV, in cooperation with the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, this year’s installment of Music Evo will celebrate the pop genre. The one-night musical event will be hosted by MTV Asia VJs Alan Wong and Hanli Hoefer, and will be recorded live for telecast in over 160 countries.
MTV Music Evolution Manila is back for more fun again in the Philippines! Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines reprises its collaboration with MTV, a unit of Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), and marks the return of MTV Music Evolution Manila to the Philippines on Friday, 24 June 2016. The first MTV Music Evolution held last year was a huge success. In fact, MTV Music Evolution 2015 won the Best Entertainment (One-off/Annual) Award at the Asian Television Awards 2015. About 20,000 concert-goers trooped to Quirino Grandstand in Manila to witness the event’s first edition.
MTV Asia reveals its first act, iconic international pop band and prolific hitmaker, OneRepublic, who returns to the Philippines for its second performance since 2013. They also added Billboard Hot 100 artist, American singer-songwriter BeBe Rexha, Korea’s favorite K-pop idol female group, APink and Filipino pop darlings James Reid and Nadine Lustre will join the performers’ line-up at at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
