Film Concerts PH presents Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert, featuring composer John Williams’ GRAMMY®-winning score performed live to the film. Audiences will experience the triumphant conclusion of the original Star Wars trilogy performed by the 85-member Filharmonika Orchestra, led by Gerard Salonga, on September 5–6, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire. Following successful presentations of Star Wars: A New Hope In Concert in September 2024 and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back In Concert in August 2025, Film Concerts PH continues its Star Wars concert series with the saga’s celebrated finale.
Since the release of the first Star Wars movie almost 50 years ago, the Star Wars saga has had a seismic impact on both cinema and culture, inspiring audiences around the world with its mythic storytelling, captivating characters, groundbreaking special effects, and timeless musical scores composed by Williams.
The film and its RIAA® gold-certified soundtrack feature eleven score cues created by legendary Academy Award® and GRAMMY® Award-winning composer, John Williams.
As the Empire prepares to crush the Rebellion with a more powerful Death Star, the Rebel Fleet counters with a massive attack on the space station. Luke Skywalker confronts Darth Vader in a final climactic duel.

Legendary composer Williams is well known for scoring all nine of the Star Wars saga films, beginning with 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope for which he earned an Academy Award® for Best Original Score. His scores for The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker were each nominated for Best Original Score.
Established in 2024, Film Concerts PH aims to elevate the entertainment landscape in the Philippines, by producing a unique format of live concerts, where symphony orchestras perform live and in sync with screenings of films and other beloved entertainment content, including video games, anime, and documentaries. Film Concerts PH is partnered with Gerard Salonga and his recently revived Filharmonika Orchestra, which will be the go-to orchestra. This innovative approach promises to deliver unforgettable experiences that immerse audiences in the world of their favorite movies and entertainment content like never before.
ABOUT THE FILHARMONIKA ORCHESTRA
The Filharmonika Orchestra is the Manila-based orchestra affiliated with Film Concerts PH. Founded by conductor Gerard Salonga in 2005, it has been restarted in 2024 after almost a decade-long hiatus. The orchestra consists of many players from the former ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, the last orchestra in the Philippines that Salonga led as Music Director up until 2020.
Gerard Salonga is currently Resident Conductor of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur, a position he has held since January 2019. For two seasons he served as Assistant Conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra from 2016 to 2018 where he was appointed by Maestro Jaap van Zweden, having been selected from a field of over 170 international applicants. He also served as Music Director of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra in Manila from 2012 to 2020. In January of 2021, Gerard began his term as the Music Director of the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth (OFY).

FILM SYNOPSIS
Set 30 years after Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: A New Hope, the fourth episode of the saga, returns to the desert planet of Tatooine. A young Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) begins to discover his destiny when searching for a lost droid, he is saved by reclusive Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness). A civil war rages in the galaxy, and Rebel forces struggle against the evil Galactic Empire, Luke and Obi-Wan enlist the aid of hotshot pilot, Han Solo (Harrison Ford). Joined by the quirky droid duo R2-D2 and C-3PO, the unlikely team sets out to rescue Rebel leader Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and make use of the stolen plans to destroy the Empire’s ultimate weapon.
In a legendary confrontation, the rogue group mounts an attack against the Death Star for a climactic battle with the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
