Ju Ji Hoon’s Manila Magic: A Starlit to Juniverse Odyssey!

People were excited at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City on the night of August 2, 2025. It was an exciting time in the air as Filipino fans flooded the venue for Ju Ji Hoon’s first-ever fan meetup in Manila. Most of them were holding unique photocards and fan-made banners. This was part of his 2025 Asia tour called “JUNIVERSE.” Dedicated fans dressed in their best K-drama-inspired outfits were ready to meet the man who had stolen their hearts as Crown Prince Lee Shin in Princess Hours almost 20 years ago.

At 6 p.m., the lights went down, and as Ju Ji Hoon walked on stage, the crowd went wild. His towering physique and distinctive charisma took over the room right away. He wore a slick, well-fitted Balmain Love Letter Crystal Piping Wool Grain de Poudre 1-Button Jacket. He opened his fan meet serenading the crowd with “Relieved” by Lee Juck. He smiled warmly as he greeted the throng in English with a hint of his deep, soothing voice: “Hello, Manila!” I’m very glad to finally meet you all! Fans of various ages, including those who had been fans for years and others who had just seen him in Kingdom and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, yelled with joy, while others took pictures to remember the occasion.

The JUNIVERSE event was more than just a fan meet; it was a look back at Ju Ji Hoon’s career and charm. The night started with a heartfelt video montage that showed clips from his most famous roles, like the stoic but romantic prince in “Princess Hours,” the fierce Crown Prince of Joseon fighting zombies in “Kingdom,” and the intense Dr. Baek Kang Hyuk in “The Trauma Code,” for which he had just won Best Actor at the 2025 Baeksang Arts Awards. Fans screamed the most at the Princess Hours moments, which brought back memories for those who had fallen in love with him as their “first K-drama prince.” On segment 2 Ju Ji Hoon went back to surprise his fans as he walked to them donned in a youthful Versace Coral Theatre Cotton Shirt in white and blue. The price tag? Nearly PHP60,000. He made sure to get close to his fans who waited for him in Manila for almost 20 years while “Perhaps Love,“ the OST that made us fall in love with Goong 19 years ago, was in the background.

Ju Ji Hoon, known for his exceptional fan service, maintained the excitement. He told funny things from behind the scenes, including how he was too afraid to see some of Kingdom’s zombie sequences. He said with a teasing smile, “I’m not as brave as my characters.” The Q&A was the best part, as fans asked about his favorite moments and what it was like to shoot The Trauma Code, which filled the room with cheers.

People loved the participatory parts of the event. Lucky raffle winners all around Asia, Like Thailand, Japan and Indonesia held autographed posters and Polaroids. When Ju Ji Hoon waved to supporters and threw a few finger hearts, the audience erupted in excitement. You could see how much he cared about them. He also amazed everyone by singing his self-confessed favorite song, 참 예뻐요 (Cham Yeppeoyo) by Lee Kyu-hyung. His voice was gentle yet steady, making the event seem private even though the theater was full.

As the night came to an end, Ju Ji Hoon offered a special message that had been filmed earlier and broadcast on the big screen: “Filipino fans, you’ve waited so long, and I’m so grateful for your love.” Let’s build more memories with each other. Fans, some of whom were crying, clapped and yelled his name, not wanting the night to finish. The JUNIVERSE fan meetup was more than simply an event; it was a celebration of Ju Ji Hoon’s rise from a model in 2003 to a worldwide sensation and proof of the strong link between him and his Filipino followers. As the throng streamed out into the Manila night, social media lit up with postings, images, and videos, assuring the JUNIVERSE enchantment would endure long beyond August 2.
