About Singin’ in the Rain
Based on the 1952 smash hit film starring the infallible Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, Singin’ In The Rain is the golden aged story told live onstage, in all it’s rainy glory! The show is set in the late 1920’s at a pivotal changing time for film, movie stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont find they need to change their performance style to survive in the industry, which proves a tad difficult for the starlet. Enlisting the help of chorus girl, Kathy Selden and funny guy, Cosmo Brown, Don manages to form a creative trio not to be reckoned with.Singin’ In The Rain is a heartfelt tale of romance and contains all the glitz and glamour of the original film whilst also bringing to life the rain that made the film famous by creating an onstage storm!

Beauty and the Beast Enchants Manila with Extended Season
It’s a tale not quite literally as old as time, but one could ask just about anyone about Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and get a reminiscent smile in return.
The traditional fairytale from the pen of French novelist Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont may be better known these days for its 1991 cartoon adaptation, but noone could dispute the fact that it’s a story deeply ingrained in the hearts of a generation.
With this in mind, it came as no surprise that Manila instantly began buzzing when news broke that Ovation Productions would be bringing the stage adaptation of the classic to the Cultural Center of the Philippines. On a quiet Tuesday afternoon, Philippine Concerts got to sit down with some of the play’s principal cast for a chat with Hilary Maiberger (Belle), Darick Pead (Beast), James May (Cogsworth), Hassan Nazari-Robati (Lumiere), Adam Dietlein (Gaston), and Jordan Aragon (Lefou).
PHILIPPINE CONCERTS: We’re so excited to have you here in Manila! You must be a long way from home. How are you liking your visit so far?

Shrek The Musical puts a twist on fairytales as we have come to know them. Instead of a knight riding a noble steed, the hero is Shrek, a swamp-dwelling ogre who befriends a wisecracking Donkey. And the Princess? She’s the slightly temperamental and neurotic Fiona. After Shrek rescues Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower, the two fall in love before she reveals there’s more to her than meets the eye. Other fairytale misfits join the madcap adventure in this colorful musical including a brave puppet named Pinocchio, a Gingerbread Man with an attitude and Three Blind Mice who channel their inner Dreamgirls.
