  • Rico Blanco bids a beautiful goodbye in new song “Paalam”

Rico Blanco bids a beautiful goodbye in new song “Paalam”

A song spanning many years to complete, finally makes its moment.

Following the renewed success of his solo catalog—particularly “Your Universe,” which recently broke into Spotify Philippines’ Top 10—Rico Blanco returns with “Paalam,” a hauntingly spare but exquisitely crafted ballad that captures the enduring imprint of goodbyes in all its bittersweet and hopeful glory.

Equal parts love song and meditation on loss, “Paalam” contemplates the emotional weight of parting, whether from a person, a chapter, a place, or a former self. In Blanco’s hands, goodbye becomes not only an act of release and reawakening, but also a gift that offers clarity, grounding, and ultimately, healing.

“Out of all the songs I’ve released, Paalam is the song that took me the longest to finish,” the multi-awarded music hyphenate admits. “Some songs I finish in minutes, days, or weeks, but this one has been a work in progress for many, many years.”

Originally inspired by a former bandmate’s departure in the ‘90s, the song evolved over time and took deeper shape following the recent passing of Blanco’s brother. For years, he hesitated to record it for himself and was convinced another voice might better serve its purpose. “All these years, I kept waiting for the right singer to come along,” he reveals.

But with its kundiman arrangements and intricate orchestral builds, the song taps into something powerful and primal, as if unlocking something personal from Rico without completely giving away the story.

“Production-wise, I always knew how I wanted the song to sound,” shares Rico. “I wanted it to have a timeless arrangement, or some would say a bit traditional.”

Rico Blanco’s “Paalam” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

  • Filipino artist Muri and Japanese producer Shigge to release joint EP, SETSUNA next week!

Filipino artist Muri and Japanese producer Shigge to release joint EP, SETSUNA next week!

The new record combines elements of neo-soul and pop with drum n’ bass, UKG, and house music.

Filipino indie pop/soul artist Muri and Japanese electronic producer Shigge are slated to release their first joint EP, SETSUNA, on all digital music platforms worldwide this August 8, 2025.

A Japanese word with Buddhist origins that means “instant,” SETSUNA symbolizes the beauty of moments: they’re fleeting yet powerful.

“Our EP, SETSUNA, hopes to capture moments that can seem insignificant yet hold a lot of importance,” Muri explains. “Where insight or enlightenment arrives when we least expect it or look for it.”

The cross-cultural collaboration brings the best of both worlds from Muri and Shigge, combining a mix of genres like neo-soul, house, and UKG with dance-infused rhythms and drum n’ bass. Muri admits listening to a lot of synth-driven dance/house music to get into the groove of the sound: from Kaytranada to Cody Curry and PinkPantheress.

Muri reveals, “This was our first time creating a joint EP together. When we wrote our first song it was initially unsettling, as we navigated our shared style and ventured beyond our comfort zones. But looking back at it, the experience was one that was very exciting because you have no idea how it will turn out, and at the end you both really enjoy what you create. Aside from our single GOLDEN HOUR, which we wrote together in person, the creative process was quite smooth. We wrote the rest of the EP remotely from Manila, Tokyo, and London, sending demos back and forth and iterating on each other’s ideas.”

Earlier this month, Muri and Shigge embarked on a tour in Tokyo to perform some of the songs from SETSUNA. The electronic-soul pairing is set to conclude their collab tour in Manila on August 1, 2025, at Sari-Sari Bar for The Rest Is Noise PH’s 43rd show, and on August 2, 2025 at Electric Sala for Locked Down Night.

It consistently charted on Spotify’s Viral 50, Top Hits Philippines, and has been featured on prominent editorial playlists including OPM Rising, Tatak Pinoy, and Hot Hits Philippines. Its timeless appeal has kept it in steady rotation, garnering a loyal following across generations.

The newly-released music video breathes fresh life into the beloved track with the inclusion of Kaila Estrada, one of the country’s fastest-rising actresses. Known for her compelling on-screen presence, Estrada adds rich emotional nuance to the visual storytelling, portraying the vulnerability, yearning, and subtle sorrow that lie at the core of Isa Lang. The cinematic visuals offer a poignant exploration anda a faithful extension of the song’s emotional core that fans will surely resonate with.

The release of the music video comes at a time when OPM is flourishing globally, and Arthur Nery continues to be at the forefront of this renaissance. • Confetti, Promises, and “Walang Uuwi”: Tiffany Young’s Unforgettable Night in Manila

Confetti, Promises, and “Walang Uuwi”: Tiffany Young’s Unforgettable Night in Manila

Tiffany Young closed her Here For You Asia tour with an emotionally-charged and joy-filled finale at Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier last July 27. Her return to Manila after five long years was more than just a concert—it was a heartfelt reunion. Orchestrated flawlessly by L-Squared Productions, the evening celebrated artistry, nostalgia, and the enduring connection between Tiffany and her devoted Filipino YoungOnes and SONEs.

From the opening note to the final encore, Here For You in Manila lived up to its name and more—offering fans an unforgettable night brimming with warmth, laughter, and sincere gratitude.

The crowd erupted the moment Tiffany stepped on stage, greeted by a sea of pink lights and emotional
cheers. “Manila YoungOnes, my heart is so full,” she said with a beaming smile. The segment Kind Tiffany
Young set the tone for the evening’s personal, fan-focused energy. Tiffany reflected on her last Manila visit in 2020, fondly recalling the deep bond she shares with Filipino fans. Ever-attuned to her audience, she asked whether she should speak in English or Korean, noting how she’s “very polite in Korean” but a little “spicy” in English—something her Manila crowd warmly welcomed.

The night’s most endearing moments came during Tiffany’s fan wish segment. Wish #1, Magical Confetti
Photo Time, featured Tiffany playfully tossing green and white confetti across the stage to the tune of Girls’ Generation’s “Kissing You.” The confetti matched her outfit, and fans couldn’t help but cheer, calling her “so cute”—to which Tiffany cheekily replied, “I want to be cool, not cute!”

In Wish #2, fans asked for a reprise of her 2020 Speechless performance. While unprepared for the song, she delivered a stunning a cappella rendition of Whitney Houston’s Greatest Love of All instead, showcasing her crystal-clear vocals and touching the hearts of everyone in the room.

Wish #3 hyped the audience further, as Tiffany selected two fans for her “love confession,” gifting one her ring and engaging in playful banter with the audience. A fan who had supported her for 12 years tearfully
expressed her love, prompting Tiffany to respond with genuine gratitude.

Between fan interactions, Tiffany answered candid questions. When asked about her favorite tour outfit, she pointed to the dress she wore during Light Up The Sky—a track from Girls’ Generation’s 10th anniversary album Holiday Night—describing it as her “fairytale princess” look. Fans teased that she looked like a Matcha Latte, which Tiffany found hilarious and endearing. Her most memorable birthday, she said, was her 18th—the year she debuted with Girls’ Generation and first met her fans. This year, she planned a cozy “Birthday Breakfast” celebration, drawing a sweet comparison to Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
When asked to sum up the entire tour, Tiffany responded simply, “It feels like home—but also so new.”

She expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering love and support she continues to receive, promising, “As long as there’s a stage, and as long as you’re there, I’ll always come back.” She promised her Filipino YoungOnes and SONEs that she will not take 5 years, as she did this time.

The night’s musical journey covered both iconic and intimate territory. Tiffany dazzled with Girls’ Generation hits like PARTY, Forever 1, Lucky Like That, and a ballad version of their debut track Into The New World. Her solo songs, including the beloved I Just Wanna Dance, were met with resounding applause. A standout moment came during Fly Me to the Moon, when Tiffany playfully changed the lyrics to “In other words, Mahal Kita”—a Filipino phrase taught to her by her nieces—which sent fans into a delighted frenzy.

The encore brought more magic. Tiffany explained that Lucky Like That was her final song choice because it expressed exactly how she felt—grateful and lucky to be onstage. Fans chanted “Walang uuwi!” and Tiffany repeated the phrase, later laughing and exclaiming, “I’m down to stay!” A surprise tribute video followed, showing how Filipino YoungOnes came together to bring Here For You to Manila. Fans also surprised Tiffany with an early birthday celebration—complete with a cake, flowers, handmade banners, and a slate reading “Nakabalik na ako.” Touched by the gesture, Tiffany beamed, “That’s a wrap!” and praised the fans’ creativity and love.

As she bid farewell, Tiffany shared a final heartfelt message: “Whether you’ve been with me since 2007 or just found me this year—thank you. Don’t be afraid to meet me in any shape or form. I’m just grateful that you’re here.” With those words, and a pinky promise to return, Tiffany sealed a night that was both a celebration and a promise of more memories to come.

Filipino YoungOnes and SONE now look forward to not only Tiffany’s coming back to Manila soon and her solo music release soon, but also looking forward to Girls’ Generation’s comeback and 20th anniversary world tour in 2027. Filipino YoungOnes and SONEs are hopeful to be part of this huge milestone for both Girls’ Generation and Tiffany Young.

Thanks to L-Squared Productions, the night was not only flawlessly executed—it was unforgettable. Here
For You in Manila reminded fans of Tiffany Young’s timeless glow, her deep love for her supporters, and the power of music to bring people home.

  • TJ Monterde’s ‘Sarili Nating Mundo’ tour makes history in local concert scene

TJ Monterde’s ‘Sarili Nating Mundo’ tour makes history in local concert scene

TJ Monterde’s “Sarili Nating Mundo” world tour marked a milestone in the local concert scene following the success of the recently-concluded two-day sold-out Cebu leg and the upcoming two-day concerts in Cagayan De Oro City and Laguna — a first for any OPM artist who has held shows in these places.

Kate Gayap, CEO/President of EKG Productions, one of the “Sarili Nating Mundo” world tour producers, revealed that the concert reached 18,000 queues for tickets purchasing, exceeding the 4000-seat capacity of the venue in Cebu, pushing them to day two for the show. “Sa local OPM, first time talaga na may nag-day two sa Cebu at Cagayan De Oro City, na first time ever ding na-sold out agad-agad,” she said.

The Davao and Baguio legs of the “Sarili Nating Mundo” tour also broke the record for the local concerts after its back-to-back sold-out concerts, according to Christian Andoy, CEO of CNCA and one of the producers of the concert. “We are so glad to have witnessed and become a part of TJ’s unfathomable success. This is the very first time we have mounted back-to-back sold-out shows in Davao and Baguio. No other local—even foreign artist—has done this,” he shared.

Meanwhile, the venues that hosted TJ’s tour in their respective places also expressed their pride in being part of its historic record that the concert has set. Myla Venegas of SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City recalled the “powerful storytelling and exceptional performances” that the tour delivered in May, setting a new milestone in the local entertainment scene. “The venue reached its full capacity for the first time, packed with enthusiastic fans, making it a historic concert night for Bacolod & Negros Island,” she revealed.

Excited to have the full “Sarili Nating Mundo” experience in Cebu City, which staged on July 24 and 25, Feirlyn Dacasa, Conventions & Events Director of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, shared how the tour has already set a record, after the tickets sold out in only a few hours. “Due to the demand, a second concert date was added, making this the first-ever two-day OPM concert held at our hotel.”

Additionally, Corinne Bollozos, Leasing and Business Development Director of Limketkai Sons, Inc. also expressed their excitement to be hosting the “Sarili Nating Mundo” leg in Cagayan De Oro City, which is also TJ’s hometown, on August 9 and 10. “Limketkai Center is proud to host TJ Monterde’s two-day homecoming concert, making this the FIRST-EVER 2-day OPM Concert in our Atrium. He is, of course, the pride of our city and proof that Kagayanon talent is world-class!”

Meanwhile, TJ Monterde continues to make history with Cornerstone Concerts in full support, as the “Sarili Nating Mundo” world set stages across the country, Australia, and New Zealand later this year.

EXO-L to KAI: In every universe, KAI is always worth the wait. The Philippine concert stage welcomed Kai back for his first solo concert in the country.

Since his debut with EXO in 2012, Kai has become one of the most prominent figures in the K-Pop industry. With his distinctive style, exceptional talent, and charisma, he has not only carved a unique niche for himself within the group but also made significant contributions to the broader landscape of Korean pop music.

From the onset, Kai, whose real name is Kim Jong-in, showcased his extraordinary dancing abilities, quickly establishing himself as one of the best performers in the industry. His fluid dance style, combining various genres such as contemporary, jazz, and street dance, set him apart. Whether during powerful group choreography or his captivating solo performances, Kai has a knack for expressing emotions through dance. This talent has influenced countless aspiring dancers and performers, creating an appreciation for the artistry that K-Pop can embody.

His vocal skills complement his dance prowess, allowing him to switch seamlessly between powerful verses and heartfelt ballads. The synergy between his vocals and dance lets audiences experience the story conveyed through each performance.

His solo debut in 2020 with the mini-album “KAI” introduced fans to a different facet of his artistry, showcasing a mature sound infused with sensuality and confidence. This transition from being part of a group to stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist is not easy, but Kai has navigated it with grace.

And on July 27, 2025, the Philippine concert stage witnessed his talent, artistry, and impact through a landmark event that unfolded at the Smart Araneta Coliseum: Kai’s first solo concert in the Philippines, aptly named 2025 KAI SOLO CONCERT TOUR IN MANILA. Presented by PULP Live World and SM Entertainment, the sold-out event represented an iconic return for the talented soloist and a reunion that was laced with sentiment, artistic talent, and genuine devotion.

“What’s up, Manila! Hello po, I’m Kai. Nice to meet you, guys! Welcome to my first solo concert, KAION, and tonight, we have arrived at our sixth stop, MANILA!”

Kai during his opening ment amid the loud cheers from Philippine EXO-L who waited years to see him back on the local concert scene.

Anticipation electrified the air, as if the venue itself was vibrating in rhythm with the throbbing hearts of eager fans. Kai opened with his powerful track “Sinner,” seamlessly transitioning into “Mmmh” and “Nothing On Me,” all while donned in a striking red costume that emphasized his captivating presence. His performance was a masterclass in showmanship. Every choreography was breathtaking and perfectly synchronized with his deep, emotive vocals.

He offered fans a diverse setlist that spanned his solo discography, including hits like “Vanilla,” “Peaches,” and “Rover” and dance renditions of EXO classics, where he reimagined songs like “My Lady”, “Baby Don’t Cry”, and “Angel”. The setlist was thoughtfully curated to balance high-energy tracks with slower, emotional pieces. Each performance was a testament to Kai’s versatility; from the sultry vibe to the explosive energy, he effortlessly traversed genres and styles. The meticulous choreography, complemented by stunning visuals and a captivating backdrop, created an immersive experience that was nothing short of magical.

The concert’s title, “KAION,” aptly merged Kai’s name with the Greek word, aion, for “eternity.” This nuanced title hinted at Kai’s desire for this moment to symbolize the beginning of an everlasting connection with his fans.

The evening’s atmosphere was charged with fan enthusiasm, amplified by elaborate projects, including the mesmerizing “Field of Peaches” display, which lit up the venue during the iconic EXO medley, “Ridin’ the Wave” yellow bandana event which matched the high-energy “Rover” performance, “Echoes for Kai” which surrounded The Big Dome with a heartfelt rendition of “Angel” by EXO-L, and “Beary Kai-nnected” hand banners which conveyed the promise, “In every universe, Kai is always worth the wait.” Kai, visibly touched, expressed his gratitude, marveling at the love radiating from the crowd.

“I hope our time spent together today will forever be engraved in your minds and memories. I was so happy today. Really, Manila fans, I really love you.”

Kai to the Philippine EXO-L, marveling at their high energy and loud cheers.

As he closed the night with an encore of “To Be Honest” and with gratitude, passion, and artistry radiating from the stage, Kai left the audience with the promise that this is just the beginning of a beautiful, shared journey.

Clara Benin at the MET for a two-night concert

Following the sold-out success of her 2023 concert at the Music Museum, Clara Benin returns to the big stage with a heartfelt celebration of the records that shaped her artistic journey.

Born On A Rainy Night: Celebrating 10 Years of Human Eyes and Riverchild is a two-night concert happening on October 3 and 4, 2025, at the Manila Metropolitan Theater. Presented by minsan studio, the special show reimagines Clara’s early work with a 30-piece orchestra, under the musical direction and arrangement of Ria Villena-Osorio.

It’s something I’ve always dreamed of doing, and getting to do it for this show makes it even more meaningful.”

The concert is envisioned as both cinematic and intimate, a moment to reflect on where the songs began, and how they’ve grown through the years.

“It’s not necessarily leading into a new release; maybe something will come out of it, maybe it won’t,” she adds. “But it definitely feels like a bridge between the past and the future. Working on these arrangements has been grounding, and it’s given me a clearer sense of where I want to go next.”

minsan studio CEO Jason Conanan shares more about the creative direction:

  • MidSummer Unveils “Lihim” – A Stirring Ballad About Unspoken Love

MidSummer Unveils “Lihim” – A Stirring Ballad About Unspoken Love

Davao-based band MidSummer makes a heartfelt debut under KDR Music House with the release of “Lihim”, a moving ballad that speaks to the quiet pain of loving someone in silence. Officially released last July 25, Lihim captures the delicate balance between affection and restraint — when feelings are too deep to ignore, yet too risky to reveal.

With its mellow arrangement, emotionally raw vocals, and relatable lyrics, Lihim resonates with anyone who has ever kept their love hidden, choosing silence over uncertainty. It’s a song that says what many hearts are afraid to admit — that sometimes, the strongest feelings are the ones we never say aloud.

Following Lihim, KDR Music House is also set to release “Aasa” by Polaris this August 1 — another romantic track that focuses on longing and hope, offering a companion narrative to MidSummer’s tale of secret love.

Both songs showcase KDR Music House’s dedication to producing original music that speaks to real, often unspoken emotions. Lihim is now available for streaming on all major digital platforms. Let the music speak your heart’s quiet truths.

brei Brings Her Track To Life With “Find Your Kislap”

Rising OPM artist brei recently unveiled her latest single, “Kislap,” under Universal Records. Just weeks later, she brought its message to life with a one-of-a-kind launch party that truly lived up to its name, held at 225 Bar, Quezon City.

Titled “Find Your Kislap,” the event wasn’t just a celebration of a new release — it was an experience rooted in the song’s core message: finding and choosing that one special person among a thousand faces in the crowd. Guests were encouraged to mingle through fun and cheeky games like a “love experience” bingo, with prompts such as “Who has ghosted or been ghosted?”, and a daring Bring Me challenge that included requests like “Bring me a photo of your ex” or “Bring me your crush.”

The night also featured soulful performances from fellow Universal Records artists, It All Started In May (IASIM), and XYVRL, along with a performance from Krey of Diorama — all delivering heartfelt sets centered on love in all its forms: the good, the bad, and everything in between.

Capping off the night was the highly anticipated performance from the star of the evening herself, brei. She took the stage with her debut single “Eh Di Pasensya Na,” gave fans a surprise with her unreleased track “Digital,” and ended on a high with the much-awaited performance of “Kislap.”

“Find Your Kislap” wasn’t just a celebration of a new single; it was a reminder that love comes in many forms, and sometimes, all it takes is one spark. “Kislap” is out now on all major streaming platforms!

  • Thai actors SkyNani and JossGawin invite fans to ‘GMMTV Fan Day 23’ in Manila

Thai actors SkyNani and JossGawin invite fans to ‘GMMTV Fan Day 23’ in Manila

Excitement ramps up for “GMMTV Fan Day 23” as SkyNani and JossGawin personally invite fans to their respective fanmeetings happening on August 24, 2025, at Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premiere.

The day is packed with back-to-back fanmeetings headlined by Wongravee “Sky” Nateetorn, Hirunkit “Nani” Changkham, Way-Ar “Joss” Sangngern, and Gawin Caskey. In their video greeting for fans, Joss and Gawin showed off their Tagalog chops with a cute opening line, “Manila, kumusta kayo?”

JossGawin’s fanmeeting is scheduled for 1:30 PM, making it the first event of the day.

Meanwhile, Sky and Nani gamely introduced themselves in Tagalog and ended their video with an enthusiastic, “Kita-kits po!”

SkyNani’s fanmeeting will happen on the evening of August 24, starting at 7 PM.

The four stars are some of the biggest names in GMMTV, the Thai media giant behind the boom of “BL” or “Boys’ Love” genre into the mainstream.

Sky and Nani specifically gained notable success after they starred in “High School Frenemy,” a drama series depicting the chaotic lives of Siamwit School’s students. Following this, GMMTV immediately announced a follow-up series for SkyNani, who are expected to top bill the upcoming fantasy series titled “Wu,” slated for release this year. With much to be excited about, the fanmeeting is a perfect opportunity for SkyNani and their fans to celebrate all their recent milestones together.

Joss and Gawin, on the other hand, are GMMTV’s newest rising stars. Their highly successful “My Golden Blood” series topped iQiYi’s most popular Thai drama at the time of its release. The two are also praised for their “perfect chemistry” in the series, showcasing the complicated relationship between a vampire and a human. Their upcoming fanmeeting in Manila will serve as a celebration of the drama’s success, and of course, an avenue to finally meet their Filipino fans, who are among their biggest international supporters.

Tickets to both fanmeetings are now available at SM Tickets outlets and https://smtickets.com.
