GA Tickets for Bruno Mars Now Being Resold at P11000

The social media blew up when it was announced that that Bruno Mars will be bringing his “24K Magic World Tour” to Manila next year.

Tickets for his third Manila show on May 3, 2018 went live at 10am yesterday and was reportedly sold out in less than an hour. As expected, several tickets are already being resold by scalpers at inflated price.

The prices for Mars’ upcoming concert are between P2650 for General Admission and P23850 for VIP 1 Standing. Following the announcement of Mar’s sold out show, many have taken to social media to request for Day 2 which was granted and announced by MMI Live yesterday at 3pm. As at time of writing, day 2 is reportedly selling out and could be gone in a few hours but unlucky fans should not lose hope because some tickets will still be available due to invalid credit cards and fraud.

A quick observation at the price range shows that tickets for General Admission are now being resold at P11,000 That’s almost 4 times the original price. Meanwhile tickets for VIP are being resold between P34,000-P38.000. Is anyone desperate enough to fork out this much cash for Bruno Mars? What could the government and industry do to prevent selling of tickets at inflated prices?

  • OASIS’ Frontman Liam Gallagher Finally Heading to Manila

OASIS’ Frontman Liam Gallagher Finally Heading to Manila

As the frontman for Oasis, Liam Gallagher swaggered his way through the britpop boom of the 1990s, belting out classic tunes like ‘Live Forever,’ ‘Wonderwall,’ and ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol.’ Despite ascending to a level of success not seen in the UK since The Beatles, Oasis’ foundations were built on shaky ground – namely the combustible relationship between Liam and older brother (and main songwriter) Noel. After years of acrimony the band finally called it quits in 2009, and the brothers went their separate ways.

After releasing two records as member of the band Beady Eye, Liam goes it alone in 2017 with his first solo album As You Were. Featuring the pounding lead single ‘Wall of Glass’, it’s the next chapter in the life of one of rock’s most inimitable singers. Catch Liam playing new material alongside Oasis anthems when he rolls into Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City showing for one date only on August 14, 2017, tickets are available thru smtickets.com and outlets.

  • Sheerios and Directioners React To Show Announcements

Sheerios and Directioners React To Show Announcements

As Ovation Productions and MMI Live revealed the details of their new shows, fans reacted with a mix of joy and wishfulness.

Some Filipino fans of Ed Sheeran in social media want the November 7 concert venue to be moved, while One Direction fans called for a later date for ticket selling.

Sheeran’s Divide Tour in Manila from Ovation Productions is set to take place at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds that can hold 35,000 fans.

Filo Sheerios flocked to social media, saying they want the Divide Tour venue to be moved either to the MOA Arena (12, 000 -15,000 fans), Araneta Coliseum (20,000) or Philippine Arena (55,000 capacity). We are Ed’s biggest market in the world, and if it will be held in small venue, only few fans can watch his one night show in Manila.

Directioners, on the other hand, want the June 19 selling date for the announced Harry Styles 2018 solo concert be moved at a later date. They claim the date is too early to sell tickets for a show that’s scheduled next year.

Rhiza Pascua, Chief Operating Officer of MMI Live, on her twitter account said that “sumusunod lang kami sa gusto ng artist.”

Philippine Concerts will keep everyone posted on updates and statements from Ovation Productions and MMI Llive.

  • Ovation Productions Announces Cast of Sister Act

Ovation Productions Announces Cast of Sister Act

Ovation Productions proudly announces its new theater offering to all musical theater fans with “SISTER ACT,” a hilarious, feel-good musical straight from Broadway, New York as it plays beginning June 27 – July 9 at the Theatre at Solaire.

Based on the mega-hit film from the 1990s, SISTER ACT will be performed in Manila for the first time on a limited two-week run and promises the audience to groove to the original score with music by 8-time Oscar Academy, Grammy and Golden Globe Award-winning composer Alan Menken  (Disney’s Alladin, Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, The Little Mermaid, Enchanted, Little Shop of Horrors), with its vast inspiration of musical styles from Motown, soul and funk to great big disco anthems.

Produced by Whoopi Goldberg, TROIKA Entertainment and Sister Act On Tour, LLC, SISTER ACT received five 2011 Tony® Award nominations including BEST MUSICAL, BEST ORIGINAL SCORE (Alan Menken (music)/Glenn Slater (lyrics), and BEST BOOK OF A MUSICAL (Cheri & Bill Steinkellner and Douglas Carter Beane).

SISTER ACT tells the story of a wannabe disco diva Deloris Van Cartier whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder, and is put into protective custody in the one place the police are sure she won’t be found – a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior. Using her fabulous disco vibe and killer voice to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church, but in doing so, blows her cover. Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, SISTER ACT is reason to rejoice!

“ To hear people laugh and cheer the way they do at SISTER ACT — a show people think they know but are pleasantly surprised to discover is not what they are expecting — is a magical experience for a producer,” says Producer Whoopi Goldberg, who also played the lead role of Deloris in the 1992 Hollywood blockbuster.
