Dive into Netflix’s Slumberland in Manila.

Recently, I had the pleasure of viewing Slumberland at Greenbelt Cinema 3 courtesy of Netflix Philippines, and I must say that it’s a great film full of exciting and meaningful experiences, touching moments, dreams, and hopes.

The film will make you laugh, it will make you cry, and it will also make you think about the world we live in. I think everyone should watch it at least once because of the compelling story it tells. There are highs and lows, but on the whole, it’s an excellent film that everyone should watch. You might want to bring a box of tissues along, though, because there are some emotional moments.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery releases full-lenght trailer

A new trailer for the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has been released, and it stars Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc. Rian Johnson, a well-known American film director, kicked off a brand-new film series in 2019 with the release of an original murder mystery film that was highly influenced by Agatha Christie.

In Glass Onion, the first sequel to Knives Out, Daniel Craig’s mysterious detective Benoit Blanc returns to solve what could be his most difficult case to date. The first full-length trailer for the film reveals more of the story than previous trailers had, but still leaves plenty of room for mystery until the film’s actual release.

Glass Onion’s story takes Benoit Blanc to an island full of tech moguls and disruptors who have gathered for a murder mystery party. As with any of Blanc’s stories, it seems, something goes very wrong and that there might be a real crime afoot on the island. But since the host is obsessed with puzzles, solving the crime could be more complicated than last time around.

    Watch the full trailer here:

Like the last movie, and most great murder-mysteries, Glass Onion features an all-star cast that includes Ethan Hawke (First Reformed), Edward Norton (Fight Club), Jessica Henwick (The Matrix Resurrections), Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), Dave Bautista (Dune), Kate Hudson (Almost Famous), Madelyn Cline (Stranger Things), Janelle Monáe (Moonlight), and Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton). The movie is once again written and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper).

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will be available on Netflix on December 23, 2022.

  • Netflix renews The Sandman for season 2

Netflix renews The Sandman for season 2

Three months after holding the number one spot on Netflix, the return of the dark fantasy series is finally going to happen.

The Sandman, which was produced and distributed by Netflix, was unquestionably one of the most anticipated works of 2022. The hugely acclaimed and influential comic book series authored by Neil Gaiman served as the inspiration for the television show, which made its debut on August 5th. The Sandman was not quickly renewed despite the acclaim of critics and the great reaction it had upon its initial premiere. Nevertheless, the streaming service Netflix has just announced that the show would continue for a second season.

The streaming giant made the announcement on Twitter with a brief teaser video that showed Morpheus’s iconic mask emerging from a bed of sand.

There has been no announcement made regarding the release date of the second season or the total number of episodes that it will contain.

On the other hand, it would appear like an agreement has been reached. And this is fantastic news because The Sandman, which has been in development hell for decades, has finally emerged as the best adaptation we could have hoped for.

Morpheus, portrayed by Tom Sturridge, is the main character of the Sandman series. Morpheus is the personification of dreams and the ruler of the realm known as “The Dreaming.” After escaping a century-long captivity, Morpheus embarks on a mission to retrieve stolen personal artifacts and bring his realm, which had fallen into disrepair in his absence, back to its former glory. In addition to the mesmerizing performance that Tom Sturridge gave as Morpheus/Dream, the rest of the cast, led by Kyo Ra/Vanesu Samunyai as Rose Walker, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Boyd Holbrook as the Corinthian, and Patton Oswalt as Matthew the Raven, gave outstanding and enigmatical turns as well. This allowed the series to shine brighter than it otherwise would have. Other notable cast members included Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar, David Thewlis as John Dee, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, and David Thewlis as John Dee. Other notable cast members included Mason Alexander Park as Desire.

  • Jason Momoa transports us into his fantasy realm in the Slumberland trailer.

Jason Momoa transports us into his fantasy realm in the Slumberland trailer.

    IT’S TIME TO DREAM ON!

This holiday season Jason Momoa invites you on an adventure into the world of dreams. “Slumberland”comes to Netflix on November 18.

The new trailer of “Slumberland” has been released on Netflix. We’ll see the land where such a wild and crazy dream has come true.

In Slumberland, Marlow Barkley’s Nemo and Jason Momoa’s Flip go on an extraordinary voyage in a dreamworld. Nemo’s tranquil childhood in the Pacific Northwest is upended when her father, Peter (Kyle Chandler), dies at sea and she moves in with her well-meaning but socially awkward uncle, Phillip (Chris O’Dowd). By day, she struggles with her new school and schedule, but by night, she meets Flip, a rough-around-the-edges bandit who becomes her sidekick and guide thanks to a secret map to Slumberland. Nemo and Flip go on an extraordinary journey through dreams and nightmares, during which Nemo hopes to be reunited with her father.

Slumberland is based on a series of comic strips by Winsor McCay called Little Nemo in Slumberland. These strips were first published at the start of the 20th century. The only big change that the trailer shows so far is that the main character goes from being a little boy to a little girl, which, in a story about childhood dreams and imagination, doesn’t mean much. Along with Barkley and Momoa, the story also stars Kyle Chandler, India de Beaufort, Chris O’Dowd, Humberly González, and Tonya Cornelisse.

Slumberland is directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire & Mockingjay) and produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, David Ready, and Francis Lawrence. It was written by David Guion and Michael Handelman (Night at the Museum; Secret of the Tomb). Weruche Opia, India De Beaufort, and Humberly Gonzalez are also featured in the movie.

Netflix premieres Slumberland on November 18. You can watch the new trailer below:

  • Money Heist Spinoff Series Berlin Begins Production

Money Heist Spinoff Series Berlin Begins Production

    Courtesy of Netflix

At a press conference on Wednesday, Netflix made the announcement that production would soon begin on Berlin, a spinoff of La Casa de Papel (Money Heist) that will focus on the character played by Pedro Alonso.

The series is led by Pedro Alonso, who plays the skilled jewel thief Andrés de Fonollosa, also known as Berlin. In the prequel, which takes place before the events of Money Heist, Alonso will be joined by a brand new group of criminals.

Michelle Jenner (The Cook of Castamar) will play electronics specialist Keil , and Tristán Ulloa (Warrior Nun) will make an appearance as Damián, Berlin’s trusted advisor and a philanthropic professor. Begoa Vargas from Welcome to Eden plays the unstable Cameron; Julio Pea Fernández from Through My Window appears as Roi; and Joel Sánchez as the man of action, Bruce.

    Courtesy of Netflix

The eight-part prequel was written by Money Heist creators Esther Martnez Lobato and Alex Pina. During a Netflix event in Madrid, Martnez Lobato talked about the idea and said that “Berlin’s character has the most sparkling personality to place it in another universe. We loved the idea of introducing a new gang around Berlin in a completely different emotional state.

Alonso has disclosed how the first episode of the series was written. “There are only ten things that can turn a terrible day into a wonderful one. The first is love. And the truth is, that wasn’t the case. My third wife had just left me. The second is a spoil of more than ten million euros. But it wasn’t the case either. We were going to steal the link to a much bigger heist, but today’s was easy. But if you have a bad day, you can end up bringing a miserable person to his knees and aiming for his head.”

The series will begin shooting on October 3 in Paris and will take place over several weeks between the French capital and Madrid.

The projection started with the creepy sound of the grandfather clock countdown, followed by tons of spiders coming out from the clock. The whole area glowed red just like the opening credit of the series. Scenes from the Vol. 2 came next before the portal slowly opened between our world and the Upside Down. The projection ended with Vecna’s return to the Upside Down and ready to look for his next victim.

Cosplayers of Vecna and Max recreated the famous scene of the series which can be found in season 4 episode 4.

The entire activity center was set up for photo opportunities as you enter Vecna’s Mind Lair with life-sized props and some elements of the show. The event provides a one-of-a-kind visual experience for fans and viewers and a genuine advertising initiative, which is uncommon today. It demonstrates not only Stranger Things’ popularity but also Netflix’s dedication to the show and its fans.

Glorietta looks like Starcourt Mall in season 3

The gateway to the Upside Down at the Glorietta 4 Activity Center is open to the public until July 2 from 6PM – 8PM every 15 minutes, so head over to Glorietta 4 and experience Vecna’s curse. Don’t forget to use #StrangerThings4PH when you share your photos or videos on your social media account. (NOTE: Cosplayers not included)

Special thanks to Netflix Philippines for having us.

Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 2 Trailer Hints ‘Fall of Hawkins’

With less than one week until the last two episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 drop on Netflix, the streaming service has provided yet another peek at what’s in store for the youngsters battling to save Hawkins. Watch the latest trailer below:

Stranger Things, created by Matt and Ross Duffer, is Netflix’s most-watched English language series as of the first volume of season four. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the Hawkins gang have overcome unthinkable odds and come out on top,but not without casualties. Hawkins will fall, according to a sequence of warnings and concerns. Perhaps things will not go their way this time. Eleven isn’t prepared. But who is, when creatures from the Upside Down come calling?

The Duffer brothers have explicitly stated that certain fatalities will occur towards the conclusion of Season 4. A death was quite predictable, but the constant assurance that there would be more than one death is both disturbing and unexpected. Could it be main characters or latest cast additions? Stranger Things’ producers admitting several fatalities only heightens speculation about what the ultimate body count will be and who will be included in volume 2.

The last two episodes of the highly popular Netflix series this season will undoubtedly be filled with adventure, dramatic terror, and, of course, humor. Netflix stated that the two episodes will have a combined length of over four hours.

Prepare to have a mind- blowing streaming experience when Stranger Things returns on July 1st.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery hits Netflix this Christmas season

The hit 2019 mystery film, ‘Knives Out,’ has a sequel and it is coming to Netflix this Christmas season. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the new film is called “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.”

“Knives Out” (2019) is a murder mystery film that explores the circumstances of the tragic death of a successful crime novelist and his unsettling, eccentric family.

There aren’t many more details known so far, but we do know that the new movie will again star Daniel Craig as detective Benoit Blanc who travels to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of suspects. Just like the first film, it has an all-star cast that includes Dave Bautista, Madelyn Cline, Janelle Monee, Kathryn Hahn, Jessica Henwick, Kate Hudson, Edward Norton, and Leslie Odom Jr, according to a brief trailer released by Netflix.

2019’s Knives Out is available to stream on Netflix and I recommend you see it first. It will be a fun and mind-blowing experience to watch.
