LOLA AMOUR RELEASE SOPHOMORE ALBUM LOVE ON LOOP

New record explores the many phases of love, paired with a major concert this September 12.

Fresh from a string of successful singles and international collaborations, beloved Filipino band Lola Amour has officially released their highly anticipated sophomore album Love On Loop, now available on all major streaming platforms. The album puts its focus on With You, a shimmering, heartfelt cut that captures the joy and vulnerability at the heart of the record. Across eight tracks, the album explores love in all its phases, from first crush to heartbreak to those inevitable romance relapses, blending stories that feel both deeply personal and universally relatable.

True to their growing global presence, Love On Loop features collaborations with New Zealand artist RIIKI REID (One Day Away) and Japanese collective KOKORO of Psychic Fever from EXILE TRIBE (The Moment), further expanding the band’s cross cultural reach while staying true to their Filipino roots. Produced in collaboration with international hitmakers Hyuk Shin and Cuurley, the album blends Lola Amour’s homegrown charm with global sensibilities.

The album also features the previously released singles Dance With My Mistakes, Misbehave, and The Moment (with KOKORO of Psychic Fever from EXILE TRIBE), alongside fresh new tracks like Did My Time, With You, and the title track Love On Loop. This new release sees Lola Amour experimenting more than ever, not just in sound but in the way they tell stories. While rooted in their trademark funk pop style, Love On Loop explores new genres and moods, capturing the fun, longing, hurt, and unforgettable moments that come with love.

To mark the release, the band will host an official Spotify Listening Party on August 15 at 8:00 PM (Philippine Time). The event marks a milestone for the band as they become only the second OPM artist to be featured in the platform’s interactive in-app experience, joining listeners from all over the world in real time as they play through the album and share stories behind each song.

Raveena announces Where The Butterflies Go in the Rain Deluxe Album due Feb 28th

SHARES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “SUN DON’T LEAVE ME”

    Raveena

Following the release of her latest album Where the Butterflies Go in the Rain, Raveena returns to announce the deluxe version due Feb 28th. The deluxe was finished in the midst of the LA fires and features two new singles and an updated version of “Lose My Focus” that now features Umi as well as a remix of the single. These new songs embrace themes of love, maturity, comfort, and domesticity, while also addressing heavy climate grief and longing for a simpler time.

Alongside the announcement Raveena shares a taste of the forthcoming project with a new single and video “Sun Don’t Leave Me” filmed in South Africa. Speaking about the new song, Raveena shares:

“This song captures the feeling of grief for a simpler time on Earth – for the grief of our Earth’s resources, climate and beauty rapidly declining. I was feeling the intensity of this song more than ever because of the ways the fires in LA were affecting me and my loved ones, as a person in the highest level evacuation zone. Even larger than climate grief, this song contemplates the feeling of wanting to hold onto one more beautiful sunset, one more passionate embrace, before things change again and hard times strike. I was really inspired by people like Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell and Leon Bridges for this record.”

The new single and video precedes upcoming tour dates to be announced soon and follows the release of Raveena’s film Where The Butterflies Went, a 30-minute piece executive produced by James Beard Award-winning chef and two-time Emmy Award nominee Sophia Roe in collaboration with the multidisciplinary collective Aerthship.

Embracing the sounds of classic artists like Brandy, Bob Marley and Marvin Gaye, to name a few, Where the Butterflies Go in the Rain draws inspiration from people who as Raveena describes, “are really good at capturing the beauty and loss of life in the same breath.” In her signature style, Raveena seamlessly unites that expansive songwriting with traditional Indian instruments and feel-good early 2000s pop hits —putting forth a work that’s more unabashedly herself than any that’s come before.

In the few years since releasing her previous album, Asha’s Awakening, Raveena has toured nationally and internationally, become the first woman of Indian heritage to perform solo at Coachella, and recently completed her Saturn Return—welcoming a season of growth, transformation, and calm that’s central to her newest full-length offering. Raveena reflects on her new album, “I don’t think I’ve ever understood a record so well before—It wasn’t like the process I used to have with past albums where I was more anxious about being at my best. This time, it was all intuition, and I knew the album was right when I finally had the feeling of rest.”

Watch the music video for “Sun Don’t Leave Me” above and stay tuned for the deluxe album coming soon.

  • Linkin Park Hits Restart with From Zero

Linkin Park Hits Restart with From Zero

    Linkin Park From Zero

The global music scene just got its much-needed boost as Linkin Park released their new album From Zero on November 15. The 11-track album, which includes the #1 singles “The Emptiness Machine” and “Heavy is the Crown”, goes down to the roots of Linkin Park’s nu-metal origins fused with a rejuvenated take on electronic rock and progressive pop-esque threads, making it one of the most compelling rock albums released in recent time.

To say that it is one of the most anticipated albums in 2024 is an understatement. LP is, after all, one of the biggest and most influential rock bands of the 21st century. Chester Bennington’s untimely passing in 2017 left a huge void in the music industry and a bigger one in the band’s future. After a lot of push and pull, it took 7 years for the band to reconstruct its pieces, and decide to release new music. Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, Joe Hahn with the addition of Emily Armstrong on vocals and Colin Brittain on drums have now rebuilt Linkin Park with From Zero, and we are grateful for it.

Listening to From Zero for the first time felt like traversing different LP timelines while staying grounded in the present. There was a moment when “Two Faced” felt like a massive shoutback to Hybrid Theory with the pointed guitar riffs and unrelenting turntable scratches. “Cut the Bridge” harkens back to “Bleed It Out” with the rhythmic rap, propelled by sharp drum beats that lead to an anthemic chorus. The League of Legends Worlds 2024 soundtrack “Heavy is the Crown” was reminiscent of Meteora’s “Faint”, mashed with Minute to Midnight’s “Given Up”. Of course, the comeback track “The Emptiness Machine” felt like a walk between The Hunting Party and Living Things, an easy ear-friendly track for old and new fans alike. From Zero pulled from the intricate working of the old LP sound, with its edges refined and melodies fine-tuned to a more sophisticated body of music.

While a lot of people were skeptical of Emily’s vocal prowess, this album proved that she can stand her own ground proudly. Her vocals carried through the emotionally-charged crooning for “Over Each Other” and “Good Things Go” while also harnessing the rage-filled screaming for “Casualty” and “IGYEIH” (short for “I Gave You Everything I Have”). An interesting upgrade to LP’s repertoire is “Overflow” which builds an atmospherically haunting sound with the reverberating synth and the echoes of the vocals.

With From Zero, we can definitely say that Linkin Park is back! While nothing can ever replace Chester Bennington, the band has successfully managed to carve a new beginning for themselves by integrating the core of LP’s music and reconstructing it to fit the present. More exciting things ahead as Linkin Park is all set to embark on the 2nd leg of their From Zero World Tour in 2025 which includes more than 50 shows all over the globe. Hopefully, a Philippine stop will be included in the future as well!

Special thanks to Warner Music Philippines for inviting us to the Exclusive Listening Party for Linkin Park’s Brand New Album ‘From Zero’ held at 12 Monkeys Music Hall with live performances by Chicosci and Typecast.

“88rising‘s leading lady is gearing up for what looks to be a promising new album.”UPROXX

Jakarta-born, LA-based singer-songwriter and producer NIKI firmly plants herself as one of the most dynamic artists of today with the release of her new album Buzz via 88rising, out now. Accompanying the release is the music video for title track “Buzz”, directed by Isaac Ravishankara. The video, a cheeky line-by-line depiction of the lyrics, encapsulates the rush of raw emotion and bittersweet nerves of a budding romance – glimpses of buzzing bees, a crackling guitar amp, and longing looks between two people, all signaling towards the start of something new. NIKI was initially inspired to name the record after the budding growth she observed in her garden every spring. Across thirteen tracks on the album, the singer encapsulates the feeling of being on the precipice of something undiscovered.

What eventually became Buzz, the third studio album by singer-songwriter and globally-renowned star NIKI, started with an urgent quake from the innermost core of her being. What surfaced in its wake was a collection of warm, stirring folk-rock songs, which crackle and flare like a bonfire between close confidantes. “I went through an identity crisis,” says the 25-year-old of Buzz. “It took a lot of trial and error, and I just stumbled upon pieces of myself along the way. I named it Buzz because it feels like I’m on the precipice of something about to happen.”

For NIKI, things have been happening progressively since she was a high schooler in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a student at an international academy, she cut her teeth scribbling lovesick poems in English class and performed acoustic guitar covers of American pop songs on YouTube. With a six-string in hand, and her family and classmates cheering her on from the audience, Nicole Zefanya then staked her claim to global stardom as NIKI.

And claim it she has – with over three billion streams worldwide, sold out shows on multiple continents, massive sets at festivals across the globe, front row seats at Paris Fashion Week, four songs on a Marvel film’s soundtrack, and some of the most phenomenal, confessional songs being released in 2024, NIKI has already established a veteran’s resume before the age of 25.

On Buzz, her songwriting remains as intimate as ever. In her initial sketches of songs for Buzz, NIKI took cues from other lane-paving women with confessional, honest lyricism soundtracked by guitars. “Joni Mitchell is my songwriting north star,” she says — and uncompromising feminist luminaries like Stevie Nicks, Carly Simon and Liz Phair. To match the wandering spirit of Buzz, NIKI cultivated her own elastic approach to guitar.

To further harness this creative and personal sea change, NIKI began enlisting producers who had worked with her favorite contemporary singer-songwriters. She tapped Tyler Chester, who’d captured tracks with Madison Cunningham and Sara Bareilles; she also recruited Ethan Gruska, who counts Fiona Apple and Phoebe Bridgers as collaborators.

Buzz reverberates with the hard-earned wisdom of a young woman who charges dauntlessly towards her dreams — but can still spare a laugh if she stumbles.

  • Josh Cullen drops first solo album, Lost & Found

Josh Cullen drops first solo album, Lost & Found

The nine-track release unravels openness with riveting sincerity.

Josh Cullen opens up about his old wounds and internal struggles on his debut solo album, Lost & Found—released under Sony Music Entertainment today.

    Josh Cullen

The nine-track release revels in the space of openness and pain, not afraid to tackle themes that are often considered a sign of weakness. Here, the SB19 member shares an unadulterated version of himself as he deals with past traumas in life, recovers from its ruins to find light in an often cruel world, and takes control of his creative agency by telling an inspiring story of resilience and hope.

The acclaimed P-Pop singer-songwriter explains, “This album explores themes of pain and suffering, redemption, and the strength of human resilience, inspired by my inner truth. In Lost and Found, I wrote about the pain that never truly goes away, the trauma that lingers long after we think our wounds have healed, and discovering strength within ourselves.”

Lost & Found, taken as a listening experience, shows Josh Cullen’s songwriting strengths in its unfiltered sense. He doesn’t mince words about the pressures and fakery of the industry, and even in exploring his recollections of childhood, he surmounts the dreadful experience of having to go through the bins all over again, with nothing but a pen as armor. Josh treats vulnerability as a form of refuge: it stings and lingers, but its effect only fuels his spirit as a storyteller.

He points out, “I know what it means to be lost and found. I’ve experienced being lost throughout my life, sometimes trapped between trying to process all these intense emotions while desperately hoping to be found. I hope to connect with my fans and listeners who have been through the same journey or are going through the same.”

Sonically speaking, Lost & Found marks a vital vibe shift from the rap/urban leanings of his pre-album era to a more amorphous musical strain that blends emo, pop-punk, and alt-rock sensibilities with producer-driven hip-hop and R&B influences. Moving towards genre-defiant territory, Josh’s unmistakable chameleonic presence, coupled with his affinity for emotionally captivating lyrics and inescapable hooks, makes Lost & Found a more intriguing but enjoyable effort.

From the hard-hitting, guitar-rock swells of “1999,” where he navigates the harsh realities of life, to the suave electro-pop strums of “See Me,” where he shares the beautiful, glowing feeling of finding happiness in someone else’s love and presence, Lost & Found shimmers with tension and pull, and surprisingly rolls with the effortless transition from one sound to another. Other standouts include the sensual and moody “Lights Out,” which features Mo of P-Pop group Alamat, the ceiling-punching anthem “No Control,” and the acoustic ditty “Honest.”

Check out the Lost & Found tracklist below:

    • 1999
    • See Me
    • Silent Cries
    • Honest
    • No Control (ft. (e)motion engine)
    • Lights Out (ft. Alamat Mo)

Out today, “Different People”, one of the new tracks from the EP, is an emotionally resonant
breakup anthem. “It’s about the no-contact stage of a breakup and all the intrusive thoughts
that go along with it,” JESSIA explains of the relatable concept behind the song. “This song is
for everyone resisting the urge to pick up the phone and text their ex. Instead of calling him, put
this song on at full volume and go for a midnight drive.”

    2. YOJIRO NODA ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF HIS SOLO ALBUM’WONDER BOY’S AKUMU CLUB’COMING SEPT 25!

YOJIRO NODA ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF HIS SOLO ALBUM’WONDER BOY’S AKUMU CLUB’COMING SEPT 25!

July 12th, 2024 – Fresh from the RADWIMPS WORLD TOUR 2024 “The way you yawn, and the outcry of Peace,” singer-songwriter and RADWIMPS frontman, Yojiro Noda, is thrilled to release the new song “LAST LOVE LETTER” from his solo album, ‘WONDER BOY’S AKUMU CLUB’, set for release on September 25. Listen here: https://lnk.to/LASTLOVELETTER

The album is a collection of Noda’s personal story with a total of 13 tracks, including “EVERGREEN feat. kZm”, released this April, which features much acclaimed Japanese rapper kZm and “KATATOKI,” a collaboration track with American rapper J.I.D featured on the game “Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name”. Noda shares, “I am releasing my first album as Yojiro Noda. I became a band member of RADWIMPS at the age of 15, and while the band remains the core of my musical existence, I started to wonder what it’s like to play around carelessly and freely and swim through the ocean of sound with the approach that I can only try at present time. So for the past 2 years, when I found time, I created music, trying out different things and ended up with these 13 songs through struggles and many moments when I almost gave up. The process was fun. I wasn’t trying to write good songs, but I think I created a great album. I want to thank Kuwahara and Takeda who participated in a few of the tracks, and HOLLY for giving me the idea to start working on this album.”

As part of this exciting release, the Limited Edition CD comes with a T-shirt featuring the original character “AKUMU-KUN” created by the manga artist and illustrator Posuka Demizu. Originated from Noda’s idea to express his solo project with an icon that can freely embody his music, through numerous exchanges of ideas between Demizu and Noda, the one-and-only “AKUMU-KUN” came into life as universal and invincible character based on the image of Noda as a model. The Vinyl edition of the album and worldwide digital release are also set for September 25 with more info to be revealed soon.

Papa Obet sings of love and loss in “Naghihintay”

Barangay LS 97.1 radio DJ and singer Papa Obet returns with a touching new single under GMA Music, “Naghihintay,” a song that captures the emotions of longing, love, and loss. The song was released last June 28.

“Naghihintay” is a pop ballad about someone who is still waiting for their love to return, even though they may be gone forever. The song’s lyrics are relatable to anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak or loss.

“I wrote this song based on the experiences that many people encounter today,” Papa Obet explains. “There are those who hope, those who wait, those who leave, and those who are left behind. And sometimes, those who leave may never come back, but we still hold on to hope that they will.”

The song’s message of acceptance and moving on is one that Papa Obet hopes will resonate with listeners. “The first step is acceptance,” he says. “You need to accept that the person you’re waiting for is gone. Don’t regret it, don’t blame yourself. At least you tried waiting. You fought for them, and even though they didn’t come back, you didn’t lose.”

“Naghihintay” is Papa Obet’s first non-Christmas single since 2018, and he is excited to share it with his fans. “I’m glad I finally get to release this song,” he says. I’ve been holding on to it for a while now, and I think it’s time to let it go out into the world.”

The song is accompanied by a performance video that will be released shortly after the song’s debut.

In addition to “Naghihintay,” Papa Obet is also working on a new Christmas song and has several projects lined up for his music career. He is passionate about music and shows no signs of slowing down.

“Music has never left my life,” he says. “I’ve been on the radio for years, and I’m always listening to music. I never let a week go by without singing. I do it almost every day to keep the passion alive.”

“Naghihintay” is a must-listen for anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak or loss.  Don’t miss this song under GMA Music on digital platforms worldwide.

“Whenever I go back to Los Angeles, my music becomes a little more sunshiny and California poppy,” Tim

    7. James Arthur releases fifth studio album, Bitter Sweet Love

James Arthur releases fifth studio album, Bitter Sweet Love

Includes tracks ‘A Year Ago’, ‘Blindside’, ‘Just Us’, Homecoming’, ‘Sleepwalking’ & Bitter Sweet Love

Brit Billion-certified artist James Arthur releases his fifth studio album, Bitter Sweet Love, on Columbia Records.

Featuring superb offerings in ‘A Year Ago’, ‘Blindside’, ‘Just Us’, Homecoming’, ‘Sleepwalking’ & the album’s upbeat title track Bitter Sweet Love, the new record is James back to his very best, producing thirteen bites of world-class music.

The singles have been lighting up the airwaves over the past few months, and this past weekend saw James as a guest on Sunday Brunch, with an appearance on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show on BBC 1 this Saturday. All the action follows a series of in-store performances across the UK this week that saw James showcase stunning acoustic sets to fervent fans.

James Arthur began sessions with different producers to see who could click with his vision. His final stop was in L.A. with Steve Solomon, with whom he co-wrote his 2016 megahit ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’. Back in Britain, James attempted to write with more producers, but none came close to his bond with Steve, who flew over to finish the album at Miloco Studios in South London last summer, and produce a mature body of work, full of depth and oozing the impeccable songwriting quality that has defined James’s esteemed career to date.

2024 will also see a major world tour, in which multiple dates including UK arenas, sold out instantly, including London’s Wembley Arena, with The O2 now added. This was then followed by the announcement of a massive homecoming show at Middlesborough’s Riverside Stadium on Saturday 8th June 2024. This will be James’ biggest headline show to date and will see him joined by special guests McFly and Lauran Hibberd.

James Arthur is one of the world’s biggest streaming artists, with over 38 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. He has scored 4 top 10 albums, with 2016’s Back From The Edge hitting the Number 1 spot and over his career has collaborated with the likes of Anne-Marie, Sigala, Rudimental, Marshmello & many more.

‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ became his breakthrough hit in the US. It was officially the UK’s most-streamed song in 2016 and has gone on to be enjoyed via 4 billion streams while the song’s official video has achieved 1.5 billion views on YouTube. Earlier this year, the track became his first RIAA Diamond Single with 10 million certified units – making James one of just 100 recipients of an RIAA Diamond Single certification in the program’s history.

Other huge hit singles include: ‘Impossible’, ‘Can I Be Him’, ‘Sun Comes Up’, ‘Naked’, ‘Empty Space’, ‘Rewrite The Stars’, ‘Falling Like the Stars’, ‘Train Wreck’ and ‘Lasting Lover’, which are all certified platinum records. The song ‘Cars Outside’ off the new album is currently becoming another global hit for James.
James Arthur’s fifth studio album, ‘Bitter Sweet Love’ is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment/Columbia Records.
