Slip Into The Diamond Life: Getting To Know SEVENTEEN

S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino officially debuted as members of SEVENTEEN in May 26, 2015 through a live showcase televised on MBC as part of the SEVENTEEN Project: Big Debut Plan, becoming the first male idol group to debut with a live showcase broadcasted on a major television network. The boys then continued to make history as they become the longest-charting K-Pop album in 2015 in the US with their first extended play 17 Carat, fronted by “Adore U”.

SEVENTEEN continued to rise in popularity with their second EP Boys Be and lead single “Mansae”. The EP became the highest-selling rookie album of 2015 and earned the boy group recognition from the Golden Disc Awards, Seoul Music Awards, and Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards.

The year 2016 proved to be an “aju nice” year for the boy group as they secured their first music show win with “Pretty U”, the title track of their first studio album Love & Letter. The success of the album led to a repackaged version with “Aju Nice” as the lead single. Following the release of the LP, the boys embarked on their first Asia tour titled 1st Asia 2016 Shining Diamonds.

Before 2016 ended, SEVENTEEN returned with their third EP called Going SEVENTEEN, led by “Boom Boom”. The following year, 2017, was another witness to the growing popularity of the boy group as they establish themselves as one of the best K-Pop groups in their generation. Aside from the releases of A|1 and Teen,Age albums, the year also saw them hold their first ever world tour, the 2017 SEVENTEEN 1ST WORLD TOUR “DIAMOND EDGE” that also brought them back to Manila — the final stop of the tour.

In 2018, SEVENTEEN released a special album titled Director’s Cut. In addition, they also made their official debut in Japan with We Make You. The same year, the boy group came out with their fifth EP You Make My Day and embarked on their second world tour the SEVENTEEN CONCERT “IDEAL CUT” 2018 which witnessed the return of the boys to the Philippine concert stage on September 29.

S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino then welcomed 2019 with a new EP named You Made My Dawn which gave them ten music show wins with the lead single “Home”. Most recently, the boys returned with the digital single “Hit” as pre-release song for their third studio album An Ode which featured “Fear” as its title track.

After almost a year since the end of their second world tour IDEAL CUT, SEVENTEEN kicked off their third world tour SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR “ODE TO YOU” at the KSPO Dome on August 30 to September 1. The tour will bring the boys to cities in Asia, North America, and South America, landing on the Philippine shore once again — more than a year since IDEAL CUT — on February 8, 2020 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena for another promising show filled with breathtaking performances from the ever-talented boys of SEVENTEEN.

SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR “ODE TO YOU” IN MANILA is presented by Pledis Entertainment, Live Nation, and PULP Live World.
