About Rock of Ages
With a book by Chris D’Arienzo, built around classic rock hits from the 1980’s, especially from the famous glam metal bands of the decade. The musical features songs from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Steve Perry, Poison and Asia, among other well-known rock bands.

The show was nominated for five Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Performance by a Lead Actor in a Musical for Constantine Maroulis, Best Direction of a Musical for Kristin Hanggi, Best Costume Design for Gregory Gale, and Best Sound Design for Peter Hylenski.

Director and choreographer Adam Shankman worked on the movie adaptation released in 2012. Tom Cruise stars as Stacee Jaxx with Russell Brand, Alex Baldwin and Mary J. Blige in the role of Justice Charlier.

The Manila production features Filipino-Australian Mig Ayesa in the role of Stacee Jaxx – the same role he portrayed in Broadway and in the First US National Tour.

Mig Ayesa was one of the final 3 competitors in CBS’ Rockstar INXS. He also played the character of Galileo Figaro in the musical We Will Rock You, which is based entirely on Queen Material. He also appeared in Rent by Jonathan Larson on London’s West End in 2002, playing the role of Angel.
