The local music scene is one of a kind. Pulsating with energy, passion, and excitement that rivals the world music scene as a whole, Filipino bands, performers, disk jockeys, songwriters, and dancers alike give their hearts out whenever they perform, making them one of the greatest performers in the world.

Despite the huge number of talents, there are not much musical events in the Philippines. Yes, there are quite a number of annual music festivals such as the Pulp Summer Slam and the San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest, which are remarkable, but with the gifts that our talents have, there simply is no excuse not to come up with a bigger stupefying event that will leave the world so dumbstruck they don’t know what they hit them.

The Manila Music Festival is set for May 1, 2012, Tuesday, at the Alphaland Bay City Grounds in Parañaque, where an estimated 5,000 people are expected to party it all out.

Pioneering this one-of-a-kind media event is Volume Unit Entertainment, a brand developing, game-changing event organizer, production house, and artis-management group that aims to provide “a damn good show”. The outfit is the architect behind the back-to-back success of the 2011 and 2012 Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival, a one-of-a-kind music and arts festival set in one of the Philippines’ most proud locations, Puerto Galera.
Named after Mt. Malasimboin Oriental Mindoro, the music and arts festival is a music and arts festival that spans two to three days. Bask in the gorgeous sunlight and swim in the pristine white beach that Puerto Galera is internationally known for in the mornings; partake in activities such as yoga, stone painting, jewellery making, and percussion and acoustic sets in the afternoon while enjoying a different kind of cultural experience. Once the sun sets, the astounding and awe-inspiring musical performances begin, and with nature as the background, a once-in-a-lifetime concert explodes with an amazingly remarkable intensity.

So what’s so awesome about the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival aside from awesome performances and ingenious and creative artistry scattered all over the place? The environmental campaign for reforestation and marine preservation, that’s what. Not only is the Malasimbo encouraging people to support and patronize local artists and talents, but also promote awareness on ecological issues that greatly impact our daily lives.

Now, Volume Unit Entertainment brings this momentous event in the metro: prepare to go through an astounding musical gig that will shake the nation to its very core. Gracing the Manila Music Festival 2012 are international acts such as AfrikaBambaataa of Zulu Nation, Ali Shaheed Muhammad from A Tribe Called Quest/Lucy Pearl, and Shinichi Ozawa of Mondo Grosso.

We suggest you do not expect anything because Manila Music Festival is bound to blow your mind. Any pre-conceived notion as to how a concert should be put up should be set aside: this is a musical event that will indeed carve its name in Philippine Music History.
