As one of 2016’s most-awaited music festivals, ‘In the Mix’ will feature live performances from both popular and emerging artists on August 18, 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

THE 1975

This indie rock group first burst onto the music scene in 2012 with their infectious, melody-driven tracks with their debut self-titled album. The 1975 is composed of Matthew Healy, Adam Hann, George Daniel, and Ross MacDonald.  In September 2013, The 1975 released their self-titled debut album, which peaked at number one on the UK music chart, number four on the Irish music chart, and at number 28 on the US music chart. It has since been certified platinum in the UK. Some of The 1975’s most popular hits to date include tracks like “Chocolate,” “The City,” “Sex,” “Girls,” “Settle Down,” “Robbers,” “Medicine,” and “Love Me.” Now you might be able to see The 1975 perform their biggest hits live in concert, and you definitely don’t want to miss out.  The 1975’s second studio album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, is debuted at number 1 on Billboard Hot 200 album, making them one of the biggest indie bands today.

JAMES BAY

Grammy’s Best New Artist nominee and British folk singer/songwriter, James Bay has been making some major waves in recent years and continues to put on some great performances all over the world. In 2013, a fan uploaded a YouTube video of James Bay performing at an open mic night in London, and within a week he got an offer fromRepublic Records. He released his debut EP The Dark of the Morning and his song ‘Hold Back the River’ was such a huge hit. James Bay soared to the top of the UK album charts with his debut album Chaos and the Calm after snapping up the Critics’ Choice award at the 2015 BRIT Awards.

Panic At The Disco

Now led by Brendon Urie alongside touring musicians, this Las Vegas based act is celebrating ten years in the industry with their new album Death of a Bachelor. Panic at the Disco has released four hit studio albums to date: A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out (2005), Pretty. Odd. (2008), Vices & Virtues (2011), and Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! (2013) and Death of a Bachelor (2016). Some of their most popular songs include cool baroque pop hits like “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” “But It’s Better If You Do,” “Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off,” “Nine in the Afternoon,” “The Ballad of Mona Lisa,” “New Perspective,” and “Hallelujah.” Come see Panic at the Disco perform their coolest hits in Manila.

Third Eye Blind

Alternative-rock band Third Eye Blind will also make their way back to the Philippines. Led by the hits “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Graduate,” “How’s It Going to Be,” “Losing a Whole Year,” and “Jumper,” Third Eye Blind found commercial success in the late 1990s. Their self-titled debut album Third Eye Blind reached number 25 on the Billboard 200 chart, sold six million copies and went six times platinum in the United States.  “Semi-Charmed Life” peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned the group a Billboard Music Award for modern rock track of the year.

 Elle King
She’s one of the coolest alternative rockers on the music scene, and her songs “Ex’s and Oh’s” and “America’s Sweetheart” have recently caused a surge in her popularity. The hit also made our 26-year-old music fest headliner just the second woman in two decades (after Lorde) to top the Alternative Songs list and the only woman to lead Hot Rock Songs in 2015.
Twin Pines
Hailing from Glasgow, frontman Barry Morrell, drummer Graham Brown, and bassist Callum McConville are a three-piece anthemic indie band known as Twin Pines- a homage to the mall in their favourite film “Back to the Future”. With a fresh and innovated sound their single “Young Heart” is scheduled for release this May. The track has already featured on E4 hit show ‘Made In Chelsea’ and has been one of the stand out tracks during the band’s recent live performances.
Tickets to “In The Mix” will go on sale starting May 21, 2016.
