Demi Lovato, an Artist to Remember

“I may not be in your country always, but my music is” – Demi Lovato.

Demi Lovato Live in Manila

Camp Rock star, Demi Lovato, never imagined that she’d be fortunate enough to perform in our country for the second time. She dreamed, hoped and prayed that people would know her songs that she was able to witness at Mall of Asia Arena last April 30. The former Disney star is now grown and proved that she can be a pop and rock star while performing on stage. Demi World Tour in Manila showcased her vocal ability and some dancing skills with an overall message of being strong no matter what happens, true to yourself and holding out for a good relationship.

As for the music, Demi performed a mix of songs, from a pop/rock set to an acoustic session. She also introduced her very first single “Get Back” and performed great pop songs including “The Middle”. The pop star walked across stage with a big smile while waving her hands in the air, head-banging her shiny black hair, twisting and shaking her hips through “Really Don’t Care”, an energetic way to start the show.

Lovato put on a guitar for her song “Don’t Forget”, which transitioned into “Catch Me”. To calm down her audience, she sat on a stool to perform ballads and inspirational songs that showed off her vocals. Her passion while performing the hit “Skyscraper” showed through her face as she let out amazing vocal skills. The message of the song for being strong no matter what you’re going through, a sentiment she expressed to all the fans in a sincere and heartfelt way, during which she encouraged Lovatics not to hurt themselves and be fighter to all the struggles in their lives.

The audience went wild as Lovato sang her version of an Oscar winning song, “Let It Go” from Disney’s number one hit movie Frozen and for the first time on its last song, MOA Arena transformed into a jumping dance party for her pop song “Neon Lights”.

Demi performed for just an hour and a half. The Skyscraper singer brought her amazing band with 2 backup vocals and an amazing attitude as she played to her Filipino fans for the second time. From the moment she stepped on stage, Demi had the crowd and Lovatics screamed on the top of their lungs however the bouncers lead the room in controlling the fans not to stand up even at the front of their seats. It was a bad move for some fans because they did not enjoy the show to the fullest.

There are no words to describe how much this show meant to me. Demi has a way of making you feel like you are an important being. I am incredibly happy and grateful to be inspired. She is literally one of the best artists on earth. Thank you Love-ato for making me feels like I am worthy.
